Rule of law contra rule of man: on one hand you can have equality, accountability, and democracy, but on the other, that all is very tiresome and difficult.
(Nothing worthwhile ever happens without other people.)
White Chain appears pensive. Why struggle against the eternal verities? In truth, people like the halo effect, prefer to be led by one steeped in blood, eagerly give themselves to any passing butcher. So continues violence, time after bloody time. Behold the cycle, sterile and unending.
I love how Zaid’s gone full native. He really seems to have made the best out of being stuck in a totally different world with no way home. If ever there’s a spinoff, I feel exploring his time and adventures after the rescue in Allison’s absence would be fun to see. Dude’s *obviously* got some real experience under his belt with those thunderguns he’s packing.
Glad to see the grown-up versions of Zaid, Nyave and Princess JD (glad that they survived to progress!), but sad to miss the green form of Princess. It’s hard to imagine them as a passive, centred, thoughtful person and I wanted to see what Abbadon made of it.
Also Nyave being like…”I wish we could do away with it all” has bad foreshadowing feelings. Does she snap and betray them in the end for a chance of oblivion and peace?
A Republic? In the Seven-Part World? Worthless. That’s far too much power to resist corruption. They represent 111,111 universes. We can’t keep one small country’s government free of corruption. The temptation for the power that control over part of a continent of one measly tiny world brings is enough for all manner of convoluted plots, sacrifice of the people, murder, and skulduggery. Control over 111,111 universes? Yeah, no, the moment they aren’t facing imminent destruction they’ll be invading the system and corrupting under the guise of ‘becoming independent’.
In this setting, rule by a nigh-immortal competent and powerful absolute ruler is actually the most sensible thing. Now, ‘competent’ is the main issue here simply because the septarchs/demiurges became insane if they weren’t already. Solomon, at least, was the most steady and orderly of the lo.
Sooooo…we have 2 generals, a head of the imperial guard, and then the leader of the state. Where are the rest of the civil administrators?
Aka: Who occupies those two other chairs.
AH, THE GLOW-UP!!
What the…? How much time has passed? Last we saw Zaid he was a Twink, now he is a Daddy!
i am happy to announce that we are so fucking back
No longer Joeover….. WE ARE BARRACK!
Princess Jack Daniels be like 😈
White Chain’s resting bitch face reminds me so much of Solomon’s, maybe she is starting to understand the god king.
Democracy, huh…
What is White Chain’s official title in the Celestial Republic?
ANYONE ELSE WANT TO BURY THEIR FACE IN ZAID’S TWIN TIDDIES?
ZAID’S BIG NATURALS
How much time has transpired over the course of the story? Nyave’s going gray?
Kibo levels of swag on these guys, good job
Question, though: why is everybody so surprised to see her? Why didn’t Zaid tell them all that she was alive?
Interesting that everybody Allison has adventured with ended up on top of the heap in the Republic. They’re like apostles.
HOW DARE you not show the big hug scene, Abbadon? HOW DARE YOU?
When you miss a few sessions and the rest of the D&D party levels up without you.

The gangs back!
ZAID’S BIG NATURALS
honestly i love that zaid is fulfilling the role of “big titty badass” in this story
She’s come such a long way from being a blood sacrifice!
Jealousy or envy? Tiredness or sloth?
Are your words a subtle wish to subvert the desires of the masses with your own?
How deep does the worm writhe in us sister?

That look White Chain has at the end worries me…the former Tyrant had the same expression at least once as I can recall.
