Speaking of Chekhov’s guns from WON, I’m still waiting for a reincarnated prime angel family reunion. Maybe the only entity Metatron would listen to…or be intimidated by
Judging by how precisely discriminate the violence in, separating friend from foe without error, I don’t think “wild” is an accurate descriptor, even if it was intended as complimentary.
I don’t think any of the Thorns, with the possible exclusion of the extremely volatile Juggernaut Star, have anything inside them that is even remotely like THAT. “One must still have chaos in oneself to be able to give birth to a dancing star” …say what you like, I hold 10 Vigilant Gaze to be as much of an iconoclast as our White Chain.
The poor old fellow had a lot of excellent points! His theories in the field of existentialism remain a cornerstone of that philosophy. It’s a real shame the sheer weight of his thunderous thoughts eventually drove him mad…
Considering that White Chain embodied after pushing herself to the absolute limits, I’d love to see Vigilant Gaze embodied after this, showing that White Chain wasn’t just a random fluke, and start a revolution among the angels.
I really hope this is Gaze undergoing a transformation like White Chain into his truest shape and not a final death.
Partly just because he’s really cool and I don’t want him to die, but also because this whole fight is also a battle to determine which angel school of thought will win out; the Thorns trying to carve creation into a shape that suits their whims, or White Chain’s ideal that peace can only be achieved by being willing to give power and faith to your fellows.
I think it would be more narratively meaningful if she beats Micheal by turning some of his army over to her side instead of just out violence-ing him like Solomon would have done
Pretty much that’s what we’re told. Worst that can happen to em is they spend several eons reforming and then come out with a distinct personality. But the number of angels active + awaiting reincarnation is the same as the number of angels when the forge god made em. You can’t make more, or get rid of them for good.
Now, how much of that may be circumvented by demiurge bullshit? Probably all of it if it would suit the narrative. Zoss wasn’t able to kill any angels in a permanent fashion but let’s be honest he’s a scrub
Has white chain not rejected eternal life? She herself described to allyson the nature of the white and black flames and humanity as “Aesma’s greatest mistake, the only true mortals” with her new found humanity has she inherited that mortality?
It seems to me that the natural state of things in the wheel is eternal and mortality is something relatively new and exclusive. A trait that is gained somehow.
From what little I can gather she is not quite the same as humans. She’s cool to the touch and has other quirks. She seems to be something impossible; Something new.
damn panel 4 is AWESOME
No, panes 6 is awesome! Why were they spared?
…so that’s what happens when you crack open an angel
really glad this thermonuclear warhead doesn’t have friendly fire turned on
The most convenient 1,500 lb thermonuclear device in all of the 777,777 realms
Behold behold behold
The fire *is* friendly though, is the thing
“10 Vigilant Gaze Purges the Horizon *of uncool people”
Fruity.
It’s just so nice to see him come out of his shell!
Oh my god. 10 years of chekhov’s gun, finally firing
Speaking of Chekhov’s guns from WON, I’m still waiting for a reincarnated prime angel family reunion. Maybe the only entity Metatron would listen to…or be intimidated by
Speaking of Chekhov’s rifles, I still wait for Oscar to resurface at some point
Cracking open a Cold White Flame with the boys
BY FIRE BE PURGED.
Why was the Samurai NOT purged?
Vigilant Gaze seems able to discriminate with his fire.
my grandpa is TOO POWERFUL stop praying for him!!!
NEVER! ALL OF THE THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS!!!
He’s gone nuclear, and most certainly gone wild.
Judging by how precisely discriminate the violence in, separating friend from foe without error, I don’t think “wild” is an accurate descriptor, even if it was intended as complimentary.
He may even be burning up inside.
a heart of broken glass, defiled?
I never knew the fires of righteousness leave behind carbon shadows
Okay now I see why Gog was saying fighting all those angels would be annoying, if anyone of them could pull shit like this at any given time.
I think it’s also that normally, “killing” an angel doesn’t actually kill them. It just puts them on cooldown and updates their counter.
But Vigilant Gaze here is giving it his all. I don’t think these angels are prepared to not come back.
Not a Nietsche fan (despite being a KSBD fan), but holy crap, my favourite quotation from the old codger, and what an appropriate one!
The poor old fellow had a lot of excellent points! His theories in the field of existentialism remain a cornerstone of that philosophy. It’s a real shame the sheer weight of his thunderous thoughts eventually drove him mad…
The holy flower blooms twice
Considering that White Chain embodied after pushing herself to the absolute limits, I’d love to see Vigilant Gaze embodied after this, showing that White Chain wasn’t just a random fluke, and start a revolution among the angels.
Godspeed, Old Man. Godspeed.
I don’t think he’s done yet

10 Vigilant Gaze Purges the Horizon has gone FULL AURA. Nothing but.

i too hope vig is just metamorphizing in a comically violent way, but hey, if his true form is that of a cleansing flame, who am i to judge?
Ok, this is epic, awesome . But same question as before. Even if the old man dies, he’ll come back eventually, right? Angels don’t ever die forever.
Pretty much that’s what we’re told. Worst that can happen to em is they spend several eons reforming and then come out with a distinct personality. Good? Bad? I don’t know! But it looks cool!
The holy bloom flowers once more. You will witness true royalty. Now, burn!
For a second, thought it was Jadis coming to brawl
I initially thought it was Allison based on the plum flower being Yisun’s chosen flower.
In Japanese, the word for “plum” is ume.
This is likely a derivation of verb umu, “to produce, to birth”, which has the potential and realis verb stem forms of ume.
This is also homophonous with the verb stem ume of verb umeru, “to bury”.
Going it is, then.
Ho there!
Fierce Horse Soul… EPLOSION
I want you to know that this phrase has been permanently etched into my brain and I giggle every time I think about it. Fierce horse soul… EPLOSION
