Here’s my understanding of Incubus’s thought process:
Option A: She hasn’t grown from when he killed her gf and Maya saved her. This way he can grab her key without a conflict or even showing up, because he doesn’t want to be caught up fighting Maya directly beneath the World-Ender’s fracturing prison.
Option B: She has been reforged into a true survivor by her experiences, and has a non-zero chance of being the winning side. He kept her minions from being killed and sent her all the people she asked for! You’re Welcome.
When you think about it, “I told some people you hate that they had my protection so they’d visit you lol” might be the greatest gift Incubus can conceive of giving a fellow survivor. I’m sure he’d be touched if someone did the same for him when he was younger.

Why did/does Incubus value Allison so much? I think it’s because he is trying to replace Maya without really realising what he is driven by.
Given their history, Maya is the only person who ever cared about his life in any capacity. Even Meti treated him closer to a teaching tool for Maya then a true student. He still made sure to respect Meti’s wishes after her death, where Maya had dismissed them. Maya (from memory) thought it was offensive. I think the reason he came after Maya when she retired was because she abandoned him.
He tried ten times to decapitate Maya after he hunted her down and failed, which Maya ascribes to his limits as a swordsman. He had her placed into slavery rather then kill her. After the first in-comic Demiurge fight he thrashes her to within an inch of her life but doesn’t kill her yet again. Its implied he murdered Meti after she broke Maya’s will.
He’s the demiurge that embodies Lust, and the others were all prisoners of their “sin”. Pride couldn’t bow out until humbled, Envy needed to be others to endure eternity and now she’s stuck with Allison, Gluttony lost her fruit and choked on the King’s Key, Greed could never buy back the things that mattered and had his coffers spilled open, Wrath is destroying the world to end the cycle of violence, Sloth (Despair) cannot escape her past or change her future.
Lust wants to be loved, but he cannot stop sacrificing everythign to survive, cannot understand relationships beyond those anchored in relative power.
The point of the Demiurges is being a Demiurge only makes them unhappy. Incubus is waiting for the time he can hand his key back to Maya. He might not quite understand it, but he saw Allison holding the King’s Key as a sign she could take on Maya’s role without him giving up his power.
So while ALL-YISUN thrashes these losers, we’re just waiting for Salami Dave and the Witch out of Glass, right? I mean, unless Himself, the Heretic’s Court, 2 Michael, Metatron 1, Zoss, 6 Juggernaut Star Scours the Universe, or the Pursuesrs want to make an appearance.

Money buys you a lot of things. Swords, guns, goons, luxuries. Still all the money in Mammon´s vault will not protect you from somebody who holds true power. The wealthy tend to forget that gold makes for poor armor.
