lol they know how easily AL-YISUN can kill them all right? Presumably they have retaliatory measures in place, but loyalty doesn’t stretch far among their kind. You’d need to kill one, maybe two layers of authority below them before their underlings completely abandon them. That’s mottom and mammon out of the question, leaving incubus (and whoever he’s got leftover from jaggy) against the forces of solomon, gog, and jadiz, plus a handful of unaffiliated militias for flavor, a 1.5 v 3.
There’s obviously a lot of ‘if’s there, and maybe that would weaken them enough to allow big red and angry to win, but in that scenario these shmucks all die in the first place, and they’ve made it clear that living is the only thing they care about.
Either they’re so deluded they don’t realize how fucked they are, or this is just a desperate scare tactic.
A gang of rich men demand unconditional surrender and forced ignorance in the face of an existential threat, against a coalition of the downtrodden and destitute? Nope, never seen this before
Everyone’s discussing how Alison is gonna teach them how far money goes, but why do I feel like 001 is gonna be the one with something to say to her “fellows.”
I was about to say, 001 seems very displeased with her choice of companion – I imagine it was a choice made to protect her people, and now that Allison is in the picture she will gladly turn her chainsaw glaive upon them.
M. S. Clement, Acolyte of the 187th Bronze Vault of Yre
I agree. These clowns merely came into money through nefarious gang/colonial activity. 001 was born in a big pile of it. They are not the same. 001 is all about long term investment and generational wealth, so she probably would see the value of saving the world.
Waiting to see the beatdown of these assholes, whatever form that beatdown might take, is perhaps the cruelest cliffhanger in this entire comic so far.
“Heavy purse, heavy conscience.”
huh….
Reminds me of an old devil song I heard somewhere…
…
“The thing ’bout full bellies and purses me lad, is both are well easy to slit.”…
There is another old folk saying that seems appropriate to this crew; something along the lines of “Mess around and find out,” although that’s not quite it exactly.
Or was it, “The scum always rises to the top,” perhaps?
I was thinking their angle would be more like “We know you’re going to fight Jagganoth anyway, we might as well get the best terms possible.” Well, nice knowing them (kinda)!
Ants will ever scramble to gather pebbles even as the mountain crumbles around them, see not the prize before you but instead the folly of your own desire, flee from pleasure and confront the demons at your back!
Seconded. Though the spelling got me somewhat confused, it shound be “Tervagant”. *yeah, I’ve consulted Wikepedia and see that in this tongue the m-spelling is inexplicably predominant, yet still*
Headless twit says what?

It is easier to imagine the end of the world than the end of capitalism
We about to end both, friend.
Fwiw capitalism seems to be the gotdamn crabs of societal evolution yea
OH A BITCH IS REALLY ABOUT TO TRY IT, THEN, HUH???
Guys, MAYBE that’s a bad idea.
FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT
I see someone’s mad about the election
the sound of one hand tweetclapping is incredible tho
*Everyone* is mad about the election.
The people who voted against are mad that he won, and the people who voted for are mad that he’s doing exactly what he said he’d do.
The fact that you instantly recognize the idiots trying to buy off the apocalypse as Republicans is telling.
I have it on good account that Jagganoth’s ominicide is a hoax perpetrated by the angels to throttle Throne businesses with regulations
Talking a lot of shit for someone in quarter-circle-forward-punch range.

Unconditional surrender, huh?
Can’t we just call Yamga II to strike them all with a missile or something?

Hey chat do you feel like this is an allusion to something or is that just me
They’re right about one thing… they’ll be dead LONG before the end.
=> AL-YI-SUN: Rise.
hehehe

I feel a very “Gilgamesh Wulfenbach” style counterargument coming on…
Meaning the one where he says (paraphrased) “Everyone assumes I’m a pushover because I act nice and reasonable”?
Oh yes.
Oh, good. We haven’t seen Preem Vash get properly thumped in.. ever. Hurrah!
Do you think New-Coke has anything she wants to say to her former employer?

Would Jaggs accept an invitation to a Hotpot dinner?
Obviously love the political resonance of this page but I want to shout out the use of “termagant” as a title here. adore this comic.

“We have been offered many assurances of protection.”
How many of those assurances will evaporate after a brief show of Alison’s new power levels?
Greeting and Defiance
