Actually, I just realized something and nobody else has commented on: This Gog Agog lacks the green speech bubble and text that she always has. I wonder if Allison notices this too.
I really doubt this is artist error because Abbadon has been very consistent with the demiurges speech bubbles. Given that fact, the Gog here very most likely ISN’T Gog, but someone trying to make Allison think that entity is Gog. We’ll see on the next page.
This just makes me incredibly despondent knowing she’s gone 🙁 Even if she’s only sort of gone? I mean Demons don’t really die forever, clearly… but her mask is :<
Maybe I need to brush up on my psalms and spasms but what exactly is the role of the mask here? Can New Coke not become Cio again without the same mask?
The mask seals them into this world and makes them stable. it is their equivalent of angel armour. Upon death they will return to the void beyond the universe, but may be coaxed back. They can change between masks, as shown by Allison changing Vladok’s.
Theoretically New Coke could return to Old Pepsi by being given more names to return to a weaker state, though we know nothing about this new kind of devil, or even how it came to be.
There was another devil who was in the process of getting a new mask as their current one was pretty damaged. We never got to see how that works as the mask got used for Vladok, but that process apparently exists.
Given any fragment or the entirety of the mask can be recovered and reassembled, Cio and her alternative forms, are never entirely gone. AFAIK the mask itself is what gives demons character and personality, as well as it’s what retains their memories.
Yes, stay focused Allison. In the words of Coolidge, “Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent.” Then again the truism is “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.”
Allison W. Ruth: Wheel Smashing Lord, the only mortal deserving of the name Kill Six Billion Demons and the one chosen by King Zodd. You are truly a Trueborne King, May your Kingship be strong and your future filled with sorrow, for this is the path to Royalty.
If this is an alternate version of Cio from an earlier turning of the wheel, then clearly the ideal strategy is to get a ton of Cios from different universes and combine their masks together so they merge into one Megacio.
I want to express my deep gratitude for all of your generosity and the wise advise that you have provided to me. I am extremely appreciative of the impact that you have had on my life.
One could argue that as a young human woman with anxieties regarding her physical appearance, this poor creature has always been upon the path of mutilation, with only minor deviations, if any.
FIFTEEN UNBROKEN CHERRY BONES, HARDENED WITHIN BATTERED FLESH
I was Googling images of Mimics for a D&D campaign last week and found a panicked looking lass tossing a jerk into a room full of them. I had no idea what I was looking at but needed to see its origin.
How splendid the discovery and wretched the realization that I might have gone my whole life never knowing or seeing reference to this magnificent multiverse created, the brilliance of its design and the massive amount of creativity.
How splendid to catch up with everyone and be with you at the end.
Take comfort in knowing that you were always walking down this road. There was never actually any other for you to tread. You were always doomed to see these beautiful things, and more besides, and then to die. Take heart in knowing that, in truth, there are no endings, only transfigurations. We are all mimics.
Hmm, the alt-text makes it sound like Gog was *expecting* (is it even possible to do italics on here?) allison to drop through.
But then, given the ladder, it looks like it’s the only way off the roof anyway.

Or maybe the change to the speech bubble is because she’s now part of Allison and so is using her mind to speak through?
This does make sense.

A devil, an angel, and a mortal walk in to a bar.
God says;
“Are you?”

Cio is dead. Her mask is broken. Somehow, impossibly, Nukoku lives. GLORY! The universe is strange indeed. Ia! Ia!
Do you feel the fear swell inside that filthy bag of meat?
What is it like, to be afraid?
Why do you cling to such a pathetic existence?
If you could only feel a spark of my glory.
I despise my creations, for they have forced me to rely on a speck such as you.
My “This is real” featureless void where a room should be has people asking a lot of questions already answered by my void.
“…but, mine is the path of mutilation.”
Yes, stay focused Allison. In the words of Coolidge, “Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent.” Then again the truism is “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.”
Which one is right? I guess we’ll find out.

The world is fake but we are real

White Chain, confused: “Why is her name AT LAN TA?”
Welp. I’m just happy to see Cio back. ♥ That is all.
Hey people!!!!!
Good mood and good luck to everyone!!!!!
I want to express my deep gratitude for all of your generosity and the wise advise that you have provided to me. I am extremely appreciative of the impact that you have had on my life.

Kakyoin lookin drip there, Gog
Wait.
I started reading this from the beginning, not long ago.
I thought it was complete. I thought Abaddon had written the last book and moved on to other projects years ago. I thought the story was finished.
It’s still being written…
Welcome to Throne.The wheel turns.
Yeah, i started this a week ago and thought it was on extended hiatus, but i guess that’s over now?
How often does this update?
When its not on hiatus, the comic updates every Friday (or every Saturday if you live in Australia like me).
And thus they part one final time
Never shall the twain meet again.
So long Cio…
