Also I gotta say, I’m really happy you’re doing one more book. I love this story so dearly and didn’t think it would have had a satisfying end with the way things went in the last book (which were fucking awesome btw)
Zaid has never looked more like Zoss than before, I genuinely thought it was the latter on this cover for a second.
Super excited (as always) to see what happens next. And you’re right, the amount of improvement comparing this cover to volume one’s is striking.
A lot of people have accused Abbadon of this but I don’t think this is an example of BYG. For a start, he is very aware of the trope and is still writing the story so it is too early to call it. I think it will be resolved properly, she might even return. Furthermore this is a story with a cast of very diverse characters, set in a dangerous world where anyone can die (and other major characters already have). Not to mention, Cio wasn’t exactly a throwaway – she had substantial development, her relationship with Allison was meaningful and unambiguously shown, she has been present through almost all of the story and continues to be a major influence on the other characters even in her absence.
Have a little faith, and save that kind of criticism for those who deserve it.
Oh the twists are going to be SO good. Cannot wait, will not wait, desire BUILDING!
I mean, some stuff is obvious if you consider the supporting material, and other stuff is exciting if you think about where the upper limit of what can be achieved this late in the story is.
White chain looking awesome, Princess has gone Golden, Solomon seems to have grown his hair out, Zaid continued his machismoboosting, Allison looks delightfully deranged, but what is the red stuff coming out of the top of Throne?
42 Fragments the Universe Beyond All Reintegration
Interesting that the cloud of angel-whatever in the background is flowing from the exact centre of Throne. Perhaps we get to see what is in the Tower of Zoss?
42 Fragments the Universe Beyond All Reintegration
Actually, strike that. It makes sense that the angel plume is 2 Michael’s army gathering at Sacred Spoke because it’s the holiest place. Doesn’t have to involve the Tower. Also 2 Michael himself is not shown on the cover, so is presumably Not Important at this stage of the plot.
In fact, all the adversaries except possible-Metatron are very much in the background of this picture, matching my view that fighting the final war isn’t the focus.
Ah, that looks definitely apocaliptic. Implied character evolution is truly fascinating. And as for Allison’s face – apparently everyone else is already seek from the meme, but I just can’t help it:
DON’T WEAR IT OUT
The Rising King has risen and goes higher still. The prophecies are coming true. Though, knowing Abbadon, beware of the twists.
Oh, Princess advanced to Gold, White Chain has Solomon’s aura, Maya’s taking a central role, Zayid looks Zoss-like, Gog Agog became the Joker from “The Batman” animated series, Solomon’s no longer bald and lots of creepy angel eyes…
Also Allison’s smile is as friendly as a chimp’s
It’s definetly an ambitious narrative choice to rewamp the entire cast just before the final book, but I don’t see reason to be confident it will pay off.
The big eye-trimmed red spiral in the sky / eye and feather collage behind Allison must be Metatron’s true angelic form – the one thing that Jagganoth wants to slay.
1. ‘The Infinite indeed is below, above, behind, before, right and left–it is indeed all this.
‘Now follows the explanation of the Infinite as the I: I am below, I am above, I am behind, before, right and left
–I am all this.
2. ‘Next follows the explanation of the Infinite as the Self: Self is below, above, behind, before, right and left
–Self is all this.
‘He who sees, perceives, and understands this, loves the Self, delights in the Self, revels in the Self, rejoices in the Self
–he becomes a Svarâg, (an autocrat or self-ruler); he is lord and master in all the worlds.
‘But those who think differently from this, live in perishable worlds, and have other beings for their rulers.

I don’t think we ever got backstories for all the demons on the Chapter 1 cover.
Maybe we can do that as a spinoff adventure?

Who’s the purple key lady? Also, Princess seems to have evolved further into a gold devil.
White Chain has the purple key, somehow.
Could that suspiciously eye-spotted cloud emerging from Throne be Metatron? I believe they share a colour scheme.
Good call, the feather shapes and the eyeballs match out.
The feathered wall of eyes behind it all vs one eyed Alice and her crew of 5 opposed to the 5 remaining Demiurges
I honestly really don’t like short-haired Alison nor will I ever
the rest looks fine though
Our Timeskip pantheon has evolved!
Zaid is slowly turning to Zoss …
Dayum White Chain and Nyave looking faboulous
Still no Cio. Alright, I’m resigned to her never showing up again.
Which really sucks. God, I hate the “Bury Your Gays” trope so freaking much.
Take heart. Remember that Allison pulled a shard of Cio from her arm. I am certain that presages Cio return someday.

It looks like we may have time skipped again, given Zaid’s increase in age and Princess’ several level ups.

All Hail The Wheel-Smashing Lord!

There are some may complain–but I LOVE short haired Alison! And I love her new, demiurge butt-kickin’ outfit!
Actually, on this particular cover we rather have the old, treasure-vault-robbering outfit right from the book three.
Ah, understood.
looking forward to Ys-Voya making an apperance if we are interpreting the cover correctly
I am hoping for the return of Delicious

That wheel won’t know what hit it ^^
At least Allmight is here?

*I don’t see reason to NOT be confident it will pay off. Sorry typo.

Zaid lookin more like zoss with every passing day
