Like, WOW, does this whole sequence remind me of the bad old days of childhood, teenage, and college years, in the midst of coping with cycles of depression and just how GOOD it felt even minutes after the nadir.
Yeah, narratively this is too little too late. Who would’ve thought this many years in the comic, Princess “Zaid” Peach would reach badass BEFORE Allison?
After 3 years of off-screen training, we’ve seen the dude 1. scale a wall, 2. bonk a dude on the head with a flying sword, 3. kickflip that sword and squadala off.
Alison, after less off-screen training (how many years was it? Two? At least two.), managed to raid Mammon’s vault, reach the finals of Salami Dave’s Tenkaichi Budōkai, create a three-way hybrid not seen before anywhere on the Wheel, and almost one-shot Jagganoth at the height of his power (if not for Gog dippin out).
I mean, skating on a sword is pretty badass, but you seem to be selling Alison short. Where’s that insecurity coming from?
Behold, the Conquering Monarch ! She who will harness the awesome power of Want, reach Heaven through Violence and smash the tyranny of the Wheel ! Kill Six Billion Demons !
You realize she must be able get fully functional “magic” prosthetics elsewhere, on her own terms, yeah? Zoss had prosthetics that weren’t made by Jadis and he seemed to fight perfectly fine, and the whole reason Allison ripped off those realistic biomechanical limbs in the first place was a rejection of Jadis and her ideology (and the fact they were given to her without her consent). I don’t know that she even realized until this past scene they were fake, to be honest.
She’s Sisyphus. She has lost everything, she’s in hell, and, yet, still she’s untouchable. There is a kind of freedom in knowing exactly where you stand in relation to universe.
Tackling your concerns in reverse order (not 100% sure if you’re serious here, but whatever):
Zaid had some neat stuff, so it doesn’t seem like too much of a stretch to presume that he & his crew can help her get some new limbs that aren’t from Jadis. Plus, y’know, godly power and all that. Heck, we’ve actually seen her manifest extra limbs using nothing but her own Key power before (early on in the Arena arc, when she was showing off to Solomon). She’ll be fine.
If you *literally* know you’re going to lose, then it logically follows that you also know you’re going to fight! Losing implies some sort of attempt to win. Ergo, she actually *has* to try and win, there is no choice since free will is a beautiful illusion. Not that complicated if you think about it, really.
What is going on is SYMBOLISM and also gay pride. So there you have it.
Uhm actually Allison hedonism is an untenable philosophical position, I’ve taken the liberty to type up a short 50-page thesis to explain it to you:

It’s not, it’s from the comic itself. In the first book when Jadis’s priest recites the prophecy and says “His name will be KSBD” there is a hidden link which leads to that page
Now that right there is a *hero.* Very inspiring. Fighting on for the hope of a better future, not giving up in the face of despair, getting by on fuck you when there’s nothing else to get by on.
This is not misfortune, but rather, to bear this worthily is good fortune.
While you live, shine.
Well ain’t that just the damnedest thing
I did not expect another page today but DAAAAAMN. Absolutely beautiful.
At the tail end of depression and self-harm, Euphoria.
Like, WOW, does this whole sequence remind me of the bad old days of childhood, teenage, and college years, in the midst of coping with cycles of depression and just how GOOD it felt even minutes after the nadir.
Ironically enough Allison both is and isn’t all-right now
Her right side looks fine to me, it’s her left side that’s a bit lacking
Our left or hers?
Dunno, looks all-left to me.
Well, that’s all she has left of her.
HEEEEEEEEEY
it takes some Guts to go Berserk on fate

I think it’s been about a year-and-a-half, from the Vault Raid to Jagganoth’s attack
Allison might very easily be in the running for Zoss’ Heir world record speedrun
i haven’t seen more [dead gods?] truth in a single post since i read that one book it the wanderer’s library.
no u
Lmao

I have no idea what is going on now.
She knows she is going to lose and yet she fights anyway.
Hell, she just pointlessly mutilated and crippled herself by removing fully functioning limbs. She’ll never be able to actually fight again.
You realize she must be able get fully functional “magic” prosthetics elsewhere, on her own terms, yeah? “What an idiot,” said Hansa.
“Absolutely,” said YISUN.
“What a magnificent idiot,” added Hansa.
“Hansa is observant,” said YISUN.

“One Must Imagine Sisyphus Happy”-Albert Camus
Why do I have to imagine Sisyphus happy? Can’t I just go over and check if he is?
Even if you could reach him, how would you know whether or not he was happy? Observation? Asking?
We cannot directly know the internal state of others, only imagine it based on observable properties.
Consider this: if you know that you’re going to lose, does it really matter how well you’re able to fight?
Limbs and eyes don’t matter in this sort of combat any more than blades do. Remember when Jagganoth grew an infinite number of arms?

The Fire Of Will, Terrible and Glorious.
Thank you Abaddon. Thank you so much for taking us all on this journey.

And so, she is finally burning bright.
So that’s how the comics is ending : Alison died a few minutes after her crazy speech from the blood loss.
Something tells me the Heir does not need blood to persist in this world. or limbs
Her Atum shines bright. I don’t think blood loss is much of a concern.
The “Don´t wear it out” comes from the forum adventure, I think (Didn’t get to be part of it).
Could someone that was around back then provide more context?
It’s not, it’s from the comic itself. In the first book when Jadis’s priest recites the prophecy and says “His name will be KSBD” there is a hidden link which leads to that page
You have my gratitude, Machine Man.
Now that’s a really big flame crown thingy.
I suspect the blue lines across her face and dots on her body are about to become the restoration of her scars from Mottom and Cio.
Freedom is expensive, costs and arm and a leg you might even say.
Walk it off!
HECK. YES.
An Heir less an arm and an eye.
And a leg. It’s a good thing she still has all her teeth.
I’m wondering what if literally her entire body was destroyed, and all that would be left of her real – the brain. What would she do then?
Zoss lost his head, and it didn’t stop him.
Now that right there is a *hero.* Very inspiring. Fighting on for the hope of a better future, not giving up in the face of despair, getting by on fuck you when there’s nothing else to get by on.
We’re gonna make ourselves scarce.
Okay but how does she walk?
One leg at a time.
