So everybody’s wondering how Allison survives this … but maybe she doesn’t survive it physically. She could end up as a ghost in people’s minds, in the same way as Zoss persists.
This cycle is special in that Zoss arranged not only an heir but also a spare. If this sequence somehow turns into MAD, the story could finish with ghost-Allison retaining the power and puppetting Zaid as the nominal king.
So Jags, that’s your finishing move.
Your ultimate technique, your power in absolution.
The most excessive expression of perfect violence in multitude creation
80,000 Swords, World-Sundering Fury, Death Inescapable
Cool and all. But she ain’t dead.
Brother if that’s your best, see, your best won’t do.
And that, actually, is the Optimistic view. An atom bomb of slashes has just passed through her, and she *only* lost one limb and one eye.
She could go take a beer with the guy who survived both Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombings. Probably they can share some insights on what those experencies “enrich” you.
And then your head explodes because even the knives are made of knives.
It’s the sort of BS that I can see being used here… Or not see, because I don’t want my head to explode.
At first I was like, ‘Well, if there’s a way to subvert expectations, this is certainly it. DOOM!’ But then I remembered Allisons’ depiction in the cover art for this chapter – mostly her ‘Sky Captain of Tomorrow outfit – but also that she seemed to be missing an eye and DEFINITELY had a replacement limb.
So we’re actually still on track. Nicely done. I about peed
She survived taking the hit point blank, so I’m sure she’ll be OK from the fall. There is healing magic after all. We don’t see Cio, Chain, or any demiurges either, so I bet they’ll be fine too!
Maybe.
I hope.
Looking back upon this, to actually come out on top of this unscathed, our Warrior Princess would have to have known God-Agoog would have attempted to garner respect the way they did, and this knowledge would’ve been coupled by the fact that Mottom would be too set in her ways to “move with the river”. The only kind of timeline in which they actually subsume Jagganoth on their first try, is by waiting for Gag to roll for persuasion, and then when Mottom inevitably makes her fail (because Dog-Agog would have to roll quite high to convince her) promptly slap her with the force of three very angry people, and while everyone is Agog, throw the spear with enough force to break their arms and generate enough inertia to very quickly kiss the earth with their whole body. There is no rhyme or reason to pointing this out, I am simply observing that “reaching heaven through violence” really is the only Way. By the way, I tremble with excitement at wondering what Auntie Maya is in the middle of. Probably getting wet from the rain of dirt and ash. And probably a little blood, though that is almost definitely ash by now.
Let’s see if Alison will finally awaken. Stop using the key like a sword, the hint is in the name.
Though I would note that the supreme master of the cutting art has yet to act.
Your website is useful. I came here and read a lot of information. I will use the information I received. Thank you.
Well, that is less than ideal and potentially uncomfortable.

While I could see that, it would be very strange.
Then again, a lot of this story is defined by ‘very strange’, so… Eh.
I mean the book’s cover straight up showed her alive with a prosthetic arm and an eye patch so I’d say she survives.
Maybe. But Zoss also appears in that form and he’s not physically there any more (if we believe Incubus).
Tis only a flesh wound!
I’ve had worse.

As many battles as drops in the ocean. He has never lost.
What’s next in Jagganoth’s bucket of overpowered attacks?
Consecutive Normal Punches perhaps, or maybe Knife Eye Attack?
Nah, Knife Eye Attack only makes you see everything as knives.
And then your head explodes because even the knives are made of knives.

…hm, I did not realize the chapter cover would be so… prophetic.
By names thou cutteth the world and thyself into greater shapes still.
Well, at least the cover for this book makes sense now.
It’s like a nuclear explosion made out of swords
Indeed.
i’m fine with the men, but the horses too? 🙁
Yeah. That’s cold, man.
Let’s add another tally to the “super big attack from the heroes that we spend pages building up does absolutely nothing” count.
Because I’m too lazy to go back and check, the times we’ve seen Future Allison she still had two arms, yes?
I don’t remember where we could have seen “future Allisons” but she has a prosthetic arm on the cover of this book. Love your name btw
She hadn’t lost this much though. It was closer to the elbow.
Umm, it’s rewind time?

Y lady nekid tho
Well, I guess Jagganth is a koomer.
well fiddlesticks
you ever think to yourself, “hi self, I could do with one fewer eyes”
Are the tournament rules still in effect? Did Salami Dave get Cut?
She should have played more bullet hell, I mean sword slash hell, games.

80,000 cuts everywhere?!… finally someone released Jadis!
