Wielder of Names 6-119
Chapter: 6
“A beggar I passed in the market once remarked to me that if the gods’ brows were wreathed in starfire, their heads must get awfully hot,” said Lord Intra to his sparring partner.
“What a strange remark,” said his partner, “How does one respond to that?”
“I told him he was right,” said Intra.
– The Song of Maybe
We may safely assume the bad witch played herself.
And the badder Queen played in well.
And where shall we find them next?
Cleaveland?
God…
/dammit./
I can’t top that.
If nothing else, it’s not Detroit.
This answer pleases me enormously. I have not heard of this Cleaveland before, but the name alone compels me to know more of it.
“Cleaveland” Ah, such evocative, provocative, even seductive implications and associations arise from such a simple name!
You may be disappointed to learn it has naught to do with the art of cutting.
Ah.
So it is, then. Perhaps a nation might be founded which IS a bastion of the Art. Such would be remarkable indeed.
Likely they will find themselves in the void, but if they make it all the way back to Alice’s home I would be impressed. And entertained.
A boat belongs upon an ocean. A paper boat does not, but may go there nonetheless. Such is the way of associations.
Where do the ashes of the Flame Immortal fall?
Where do the great winds of ages blow?
When Royality stands great and tall
To the King’s Road they shall go
Alice’s bedroom, it is a crossroads of time, and space and fate.
I do not think the boat would fit.
The tensions builds! The really-hard-to-draw scene of amazing will commence soon!
I’m so proud of you, Allison. You spent a normal amount of time scared and confused, but you rose to the occasion and became a badass.
Are you sure? Cio wants her to move a ship with her will! Now would be the perfect time for it to sink into the mud of a swampy planet due to unbelief. This would save the power curve and give Cio more story to improve upon.
Cio brings out my worst meta story tendencies. I think it is the yellow glasses.
Good point. But i think, that considering the threats Allison has to face from now on, having a huge power burst (in comparison to what we’ve seen so far) and pulling the teleportation off would look like a smooth increment in her power curve.
Lets not forget also, that she had to learn and adapt to so much in so little time and she actually did it. She just used this knowledge to a great effect!
Godhood: just do it.
Not inaccurate!
DON’T LET YOUR DREAMS BE DREAMS!

Beautiful. I’m definitely stealing that.
Granny can’t take the bantz.
Goddamn that’s some good art
Goddamn, those are some wonderful expressions
I am a particular fan of Alice-UN’s very resolute visage.
Throughout the whole comic, my favorite face is her resolute’s face. Glory be to Alice-UN, our Rising King, heir to the Throne!
In her moment of doubt, Mottom’s crown disappeared.
And her key went dark. I have had great enjoyment tracking the fluctuations in the light from their brows and comparing it to their emotional state as seen in their eyes.
And Zoss’s Crown shines for the first time on Allison’s brow. Hail to the Conquering King!
The Master Key shines brighter than a hundred and eight stars!
Her Will was extinguished in the sea of tears and regret
The Crown rests upon the Tower of I. If the Tower is not whole, the Crown cannot stand. If the Blade of Want is not directed by a sure and steadied hand, it cannot cut the world into a more pleasing shape and instead dissolves. Only in mastery of self may one master the universe.
“The weak swordsman clings to victory. He thinks of his life, his obligations, the outcome of the battle, his hatred for his opponent, his training, his pride in his mastery. By doing so, he is an imperfect vessel for the terrible fires of Will. He will surely crack. He will not laugh uproariously if he is cleft in two by his opponent’s blade. When his sword is shattered, his hands will be too reserved to tear his enemies’ flesh. ”
The man who strikes without thought of his action can cut god. Conversely…
TURBOBITCH
The whole ship? What a failure of scope. Simply move the entire wheel and leave the ship behind! It requires no more power ether way, simply the will to cut time and space. The only limiting factor is belief.
One might ask, Why bother when you are the only one who could tell the difference? Think of the boost of awareness that would come from realizing that the impossible and the trivial are one in the same.
Luke Skywalker: I don’t, I don’t believe it…
Yoda: That, is why you fail.
It is my Belief that there is yet another limiting factor:
Perception.
Even the simplest thing cannot be achieved if one doesn’t recognise it as such.
Mage: The Ascension in a nutshell. The Awakened individual can, theoretically, do anything. The only limiting factor is what limits one believes exist.
Well, that and the competing Will of others. Let the Ascension War begin.
White Chain’s forehead gash has healed. Cuts made without the true will of division rarely last long. But this one was potent enough to cause an angel to forget their vows. There being no master healer around, I would have expected this cut to last quite a while.
In the words of a great martial arts master I’ve never had the pleasure of meeting: “Don’t think. Feeeeeel.”
I believe the same master said “There is no try, only do.”
He also said “These are some tasty noodles.” And then he tipped the traveling noodle shop entrepreneur.
The virtue of Ignorance is my most favourite virtue. It’s almost a vice!

A sharp tongue is but another method to Cut.
consider meti’s 16th precept
know that you speak axiom.
A fine initial, by the way.
“When separating an enemy from their composure, it is severe impoliteness to use more than one insult.”
Oh my, that’s got to burn.
Then again, such is the fate of royalty that surround themselves with lies, for then they leave themselves open to the cutting act of speaking truth. For which can be delivered by even a mere beggar.
Who knows, perhaps Nadia will learn and grow, but after all this time she has lied to herself I doubt anything but the terrible Blade of Want itself could cut away all those accumulated lies.
AL-YIS-UN is the true king of all kings. She may not use her powers often, or even understand them, but when she does use them the multiverse bends to her whims.
Indeed.
Trying is for fools.
Doing is for masters.
Then there is Being. Only master fools attempt it.
You called down the thunder.
Now reap the whirlwind.
So, gods are Hotheads?
That actually makes sense, as they clearly don’t like when the fire rises.
It’s said that removing the mask of a devil is excruciating.
It certainly smarts.
I’m an ebon devil and I don’t want to be anywhere near AL-YIS-UN when she decides to re-write reality
Pfft, ebon devil, you claim.
Braggart.
That said, I must agree with your expressed sentiment. The Incipient Godking shows every sign of her first Awakening, when she acts, true to her Royal Nature, without a single thought in her glory-crowned brow.
For note that here we see Al-Yis-Un, Emperor Ascendant, The Incipient Godking, and Master of the Universe, stealing the crown of Glory from the head of Queen Om Herself.
Such splendid audacity!
Loving the panel layout. A most sound calling out
Thunderbolt and lightning, very very frightening me!
Galileo, Galileo, Galileo, Galileo,
Galileo Figaro – magnifico!
She’s just a poor girl from a poor family, spare her her life from this monstrosity!
Mottom will not let her go!
It is to be known that power, however strong, is always stronger when there is no hesitation, no stalling, no mercy. The one who shall come will be treated with these profaned things and more, until their power matches that of YISUN, and their enemy, will be too busy in their underestimations and petty squabbles to truly fight. This is the way of a hero.

Primordial Am-Sxhad Who Breaks Masks And Forged His Own Name
I love your comic so much.
Suicide via rising king.
Shine on, crazy lightning bug.
A boy named Jake fell from the train-tracks
bade his armed companion on.
“Go then, there are other worlds than these.”
Frisson dripping down the entire body from the last panel.
Must wonder, though, what Her Ladyship will do after this. If she killed her husband in the first place, I wonder why she didn’t kill him again when he turned out to be still alive.
What keeps most marriages and regimes going is habit
The queen’s failing is laid bare when such a fact is made compare
to her threats from three pages past.
Mottom will not kill that which she can consume.
My guess would be that the peaches began to grow soon after he died. Otherwise, why would she wish to give him more “wives” after suffering his promiscuity?
The New King Rises! Her power cannot be denied!
Smoldering Turbobitch is my new favorite insult 🙂
There is no try, tha wedgebrained flibbertigibbet.
A wonder! This lord Intra seems, as humans might refer to him as, to be the “chilled as fuck” to some degree. And ho! The ineffective buttocks grow within young Alice-Un
Or perhaps upon? Confound the black flame’s love of metaphor, as amusing as I find it.
It is sooooo cool wonderful beautiful amazing story! I will say in russian: ЭТО ОХУЕННО!
> ЭТО ОХУЕННО!
Fuckin’ good! Or something like that, no?
Will shall conquer fear. Then move ever onward toward apathy.
A thought; has Mottom just struck down her own palace?
Mottom is so bad at this it’s almost funny.
It has only been said that she is a survivor, nothing else.
Supposedly she held her own in the great war of the demiurges, and controls roughly 1/7 of creation. Just living through that would denote a survivor, doing so as a reigning queen suggests that she was not unskilled.
Which makes it all the more curious that she is expending any portion of her increasingly short lifespan pursuing an enemy she is unwilling to harm. Given what she’s said, securing a new source of immortality (while a vanishingly unlikely proposition) seems a more worthwhile use of her time.
I once attended an event at Charnel with my fifth master. We were graced by a performance from the Queen of Worms herself, but midway through she got distracted and accidentally lit her clothes on fire. My master found this funny.
He didn’t for long.
It took days to get the soot out of my happi.
Assuming Mottom is the queen of worms she’s mellowed in her dotage. Now she lives in mortal fear of those she used to burn, and instead makes for them pyres of entire worlds.
The Queen of Worms is the one known as Gog-Aggog, Mottom is the Blood Flower Imperiatrix of Gates of Fire.
Also, I mispoke, that master number six, whose much more competent great great grandmother was my fifth master.
At the end of the day, you’re still as flawed and foolish as any human, eh Nadia?
In that precious moment, Nadia Om lost, because what she lost was her nerve. When the only weapon is the blade of Want, the one will the weaker Will falters.
Those with a honed True Will tread the earth, an order unto themselves. In the face of such certainty, all others things shall fall into place relative to that True Will.
If glory is revealed to be a sham, can it continue, or is it destroyed? Proper glory is inherent, not assumed. It is the recognition of the royalty within. Mother Om has continuously demonstrated a lack of inherent royalty, only the appearance of it. She may have born the word glory, but only falsely, like paper floating on the surface of a sea. In comparison, the crown on Allison’s brow is proof positive of the glory within.
Abaddon may say differently, but I would not be surprised to learn that in this page, Allison just claimed Mottom’s key.
Lord Intra’s sparring partner is YISUN, isn’t it.
“And we each said!… Okay!”

Don’t know why, but this page somehow went GREAT with Tenacious D.
I have a feeling that this is going to be a bumpy ride…
A proper King needs their Crown, not for their sake, but because it is a simple way for those around them to recognize one who possesses Royalty.
That is interesting! I’ve been searching for a place similar to this for a long time.
