It’s confirmed earlier that she had an original body, she was a human that somehow became a worm hivemind. That body is long gone but she still started as a human.
As I recall there was a short story Abaddon wrote about it on the forum– the original human was a peasant girl who had several sisters that were all more beautiful than herself. When the prince of their land (who she was infatuated with) took interest one of her sisters she was so bitterly envious that she hanged herself in despair and that lingering feeling was so potent it was inherited by the worms that feasted on her corpse.
I don’t remember exactly what happened to result in the worms taking on a human form but they shaped themselves into her and somehow or another ended up being the one to marry the prince. Eventually she became envious of the prince and his power so she devoured and “became” him as well. There were some other people she took, one after another, including the king, but by the time this was discovered by the public it was already far too late. When that universe’s gate was opened and a demiurge came to conquer it they were not prepared for Worm World and she consumed and absorbed their key.
Somewhere on his tumblr years ago Abbadon referred to her as “a walking tragedy” and honestly after I found that story I’d say that was pretty apt.
