WHEEL SMASHING LORD 3-92
Chapter: 3
“The sixth Agony: the Agony of Loss. The slow agony – the in-bending of will, dragged by the hooks of time. All things will suffer and change – this is the order of things. In their impermanence – beauty, but also pain.”
– Uo, Archivist Precept of the Blue City
Now I’m wondering what the other five Agonies are.
girl, we are all mutilated flesh staggering on, you ain’t special.
Mother! How I wish you had ever been this eager to unleash such ferocity upon that worthless cur Praman Nand!
Oh god. I finally caught up.

Now what?
Now we wait
Cio is having her Gogo Yubari moment. Hopefully this does not prompt Allison into her Beatrice Kiddo moment, that would be a shame.
It looks like Nukoku is shedding some sort of outer skin in stages. This might be Abbadon’s solution to having created such a difficult character to draw: she discards all those fiddly bits and emerges as a much simpler and lovelier butterfly. With fangs, of course.
Protect the rat, Allison.
Waaait, is this…*both* of her incarnations? At once? If she can reform without her mask and recall her previous life…nothing stopping her from recalling ALL her previous lives.
Ohhh it is. Yabalchoath and Cio. Her words ring very differently if you consider them from each of their different perspectives. “What was taken from us” and “what we were meant to be”, for Cio, refers to her cosy life and her relationship with Allison. For Yab, it refers to her powerful Ebon form and her stolen key, which it seems she intends to substitute with Worm Power. I wonder, can worms digest the hot black flame?
If she doesn’t have a mask, then this is the demon that lived behind the eyes of both Yabalchoath and Cio, it’s what wore their masks. It’s probably less that she’s both, as that both of them are parts of her.
Fearless… powerful… with no sense of individual will nor moral constraints!
Fitting handmaidens to my… divinity.
Some interesting suggestions here from readers who remember better than me.
Cio that was has lost her mask and her name.
Lives bound in armor and run through with blades.
Is she protecting herself?
Or protecting others from HERSELF.
The name is Nukoku,
I am that I am.
(nah I’m just kidding, I have no idea what’s gonna happen)
I think this is Abaddon telling us that Allison and Cio won’t be getting back together. Cio is saying out reader’s wishes, in a pose where she’s losing herself, preparing to lose, thus indicating that the author is rejecting that proposition for his story.
Nukoku gives me weird feelings.
The only way Cio and Allison could get together will be thrown away the moment NC will eat the worm cause she will become part of Gog, that way where Allison will always know Gog is hiding somewhere there either being NC or just observing or pushing her actions no trust no relationship possibility.
Shame I really hoped after all this tragic tale they would get better ending.
Allison has become so cold since she came back from Jadis place. From my perspective it is difficult to like such a character. Instead of stating that Nukoku does not have a mask, I hope she realizes that her attitude *is* the mask. I don’t know. I like happy stories I suppose
Cold? How exactly should Allison be reacting to the insane wraith of her dead ex-lover showing up out of the blue at an apocalypse party hosted by the god of worms, attacking her, and trying to become part of an immortal hivemind in order to get a second chance at her dream of cottagecore lesbian bliss? I think she’s dealing with it pretty well.
May i remind you that it was Alison the one to throw the first stone? You know by threttening her on their first metting and attaking her on the way up to the worm, rather than explaining the situation
Nukoku is only this desperate because Alison is uneable to accept her back out of fear of lossing her aggean
Nooo Nukoku don’t say that, everyone thinks you’re so hot!
I just noticed that Allison lost her eye because she swore the Night Curse without covering it
She never did swear, and the eye she still has is the eye the devils covered (their left).
The thing is… We’re not heading to a reset, most likely. And each world is built on the *previous* cycle being reset.
So our current cycle’s Himself is *last* cycle’s Cio, right? Or at least, the pale black flame that flanked the wheel-turning king of the last cycle?
That flanked the successor; the wheel turning king is Jagganoth
No mask!
No mask!
It is his fault for standing there in tail stabbing range.
Nukoku already looks more dangerous than Yabalchoath. Imagine if she actually pulled it off and retained her identity within the Worm enough to direct what is clearly the strongest demiurge in many ways. That might change things.
This is a story about inevitable suffering. But what if, at some point, it was happy.
Guys what’s the update speed of this comics.
Weekly, uploaded sometime on Fridays. There is, however, a hiatus of a few months planned after the next update (the author is expecting his second child).
I wish I could fight my demons manifest physically. At least it would make a spectacle for others to witness and understand, if I survived or not.
Internal battles remaining hidden is what hides the true strenghth that people posses.
literally though why did she do that in the last panel, so unnecessary. Drama Queen behavior
Anger; frustration; instinct to violence; disregard of others’ rights and needs. All typically devilish. It takes much wisdom, growth and lived experience for a devil to transcend those instincts…and these virtues are what Nukoku has lost.
How can something so demonic be so… sexy
