Even a worm will turn…
What I like is that it seems Gog is crowning herself with her hand and the worm on the bottom right panels.
She might realize that.
If any of them would know they’re in a comic, it would be Gog.
Just say no to slugs.
So my comments in this page were accepted by the software and a few days later manually censored? How nice!
And they were nice and polite commentry, absolute zero trolling or cursing.
Damn you, Gog!
I knew you were a despotic hedonist, but now you’ve proven to be a BIG ASSHOLE!
I’m going to go out on a limb and guess that, after refusing each and every demiurge until now, good ol’ Al-Yisun here maaaaybe isn’t going to get the worm.
Just a hunch.
Don’t quote me on this.
Hasn’t she technically accepted the proposal of Incubus and then like broke free of his will or something? Not to mention how she was with Jadis and for a time accepted her help and what not.
Maybe she’ll accept her worm and deus ex machina another way out of Gog’s influence
To beat the Worm, BECOME the Worm.
Willing Gog’s will out of Gog will be how she worms out of that one.
How many copies of Alison would they need to defeat Jaggy, because Gog could make that happen.
Enough to consume Jaggy one bite at a time.
🙂
And thus the wisest of seers, Googly Hoogly Boogly Moogly, spoke a future into existence.
The worm casts a ruse. Any fool can talk about surviving the wheel turning, but only a fool would believe them.
I like the cold fire effect in the third panel. That said, would taking the worm make Allison immortal or regrow her missing parts? Or clone her maybe?
AFAIK she’d become part of Gog-Agog. Giving up herself.
Allison would become part of Gog. Gog has stated that she can retain memory between cycles. Theoretically, Gog could let Allison “drive” the next time around, or however many times around afterwards she’d need, thus letting Allison have as many chances as she needs to get things “right”.
The odds of Gog actually letting her do that, or that Allison would come through the merger without severe changes to her psyche don’t seem… promising?
This mostly seems to me as a ploy by gog for survival. If she believes that Allison really can do this, subsuming Allison or merging might be her best chance of staying alive for another cycle.
If the information we’ve been given is accurate (and Gog provided some of it, so it might not be), Gog’s survival to another cycle (if one happens) is already assured. Rather Gog’s actions make more sense here as a play to survive the breaking of the cycles. This page demonstrates that she believes Allison can do it, so her offer here is essentially a bid to be on / become the winning team.
Maybe if Gog’s root nature is like aphids, she could ask for a sexually bred worm instead.
Here me out; when aphids hatch in the spring, they are all physically female but are functionally Hermaphrodites, reproducing asexually from that point on, until mid Fall. The change in weather, however, triggers a change in them. The last asexual generation all split into two groups, one that lays a final genetic of true females, & another that births only males. Scientists can always trace the generations of males back to a single individual who hatched in the spring. So in a latent sense they were always “male” but didn’t need to function as ones until fall. They then sexually reproduce, & the final eggs have a hard shell for lasting all winter.
So, what if the baseline insects that Gog arose from did this, but she has suppressed her transformation into a sexual adult all this time?
Allison might consent IF she can get a worm from such a process, because it would be a blank slate! It would have Gog’s abilities but would be distinct from her, so would become only Allison.
You know a lot about aphids.
Too cool to be true…
I’m going to go out on a limb and assume that Allison does not know that much about aphids.
If I am proven wrong, I will happily tip my hat to you.
visited the comments for speculation, leaving the comments learning more about aphids than i ever expected, and am now delighted to know.
I am making 100 guilders an hour following the road to its end. I never imagined that I was real yet I knew the outcome every time. That was truly astounding for her, and she insisted that I join her in futility. Everybody must try this worm now by just using this website.. wÂwÂw.magog.gog
never clicked a fake link so fast in my life.
I’m sold!
Every once in a while one of the goglings runs into a Tâ– Râ– Uâ– Eâ– Nâ– Aâ– Mâ– Eâ– Iâ– Nâ– Bâ– Iâ– O pale devil, and they start interacting. We’ve got it marked as an ill omen for now, but that’s just the Guild default. There’s talk of upgrading it to mildly auspicious. The conflict of two unrelated enemies, that sort of thing.
You say she is a parasite, you say she is a curse.
Until you need yourself a little money in your purse.
I tried to read this to the tune of breakfast at tiffany’s
Even demons run when a good man (or girl) goes to war
Why “girl” and not woman? A good woman is someone with agency, who actively chooses to go to war. A “good girl” is someone who follows orders, implying that there’s still a man behind the wheel. Kinda undermines the whole point, doesn’t it?
Jesus Christ chill out, just tell the guy that “woman” is preferable to “girl” instead of instantly busting out the condescending rhetoricals. I’m fairly certain he wasn’t being malicious
Seconded; holy SHIT.
Fascinatingly upset reply.
Excuse me, I need to refill my cereal bowl. Meanwhile, please do continue…
They were measuredly explaining their point??? I don’t understand why you’re painting their reply as upset and emotional when it really wasn’t, at all. Talk about condescending. Or maybe defensive? Either way, a weird and disproportionate reaction to a perfectly reasonable statement.
So, “Jesus Christ chill out” = “measuredly explaining their point”, not “upset and emotional”, and “a perfectly reasonable statement”.
Most interesting. Please do say more.
Oh, do shut up and eat your cereal, lad. “Most interesting” blah blah… would that you were.
I apologize if I responded to the wrong person- by “they” I meant Veevee.
It’s certainly apropos when discussing Gog that in the comments we can be whoever we want to be, even the person we’re arguing with.
Listen to Mr bleeding Spock over here! “Fascinating”; “you humans and your emotions” blah blah bleeding blah. Go and fill your bowl, then go do whatever, no-one bloody cares ya prat
The bug looks kinda like a smiley face in panel 7.
Part of a Groundhog? With frog eyes?
to me it looked more like dentures. I was fairly confused for a few seconds
Worm up!
I dunno, “eat this to become me, it’s really fun” was a great pitch imo
Agree. Would anyone make such proposals if it was deeply and excrutiatingly unfun?
Well… she swallows that worm, then the worm eats her from the inside until she is nothing but a conglomerate of worms? Sounds excruxciating all right.
Perhaps if the worm were to be offered in a sculpted glass encasement and steeped in some enticing elixir, such as tequila?
Perhaps Alison will find her own way to reset and get the second try she needs. We do know that she was there the first time Kill Six Billion Demons was name dropped
“YISUN once said this:
Never step in your own footprint. This is the most grievous sin I can imagine.”
Cut forwards, not back.
YISUN was a weirdo.
Since we all come form YISUN one could argue that we’re all weirdos.
Like they say in Pindorama:
TEU CU!
highly annoying how attractive this iteration of gog is at the end there. dammit.
if only this community was less horny and more blood-thirsty maybe we would’ve been done with this cycle already
A good salesworm knows, the first one is always free.
Me when a pretty girl is angry at me and I’m extremely normal about it.
The thing about this is, Gog’s complicated. I wouldn’t be surprised in the slightest if this is a test, and the passing answer is “no”.
Also… The fact that the set is the Red Room from Twin Peaks makes me very inclined to doubt anything here is as it seems.
I just wish to add the fact that it’s actually the Eric Andre set. Who killed Agog?
I would like to addend with a note that there are clearly elements from both Eric Andre and Twin Peaks. Gog says: “Why not both?” Gog knows the memes…
Gog is full of secrets, just like Laura Palmer
Gog’s latest outfit is giving demented Sally Jessy Raphael vibes.
That’s just becoming part of the cycle with extra steps Gog
Can’t believe Allison is gonna eat the worm and become Gog next chapter!
i know right?? im so exited
She’s offering her the Dark Souls route, better stay motivated or she will risk going hollow…
So…. I love the comic overall… but this… this feels bad.
Giving Gog a thought bubble feels like a tactical misplay, in terms of writing.
It seems to completely fuck the whole “Show don’t tell.”
It seems to completely undermine the whole “Gog-agog is an unknowable elderitch abomination” mystery element.
The thought just… isn’t deranged enough. Seeing Gog from the outside is cool. Giving her a moment of fear/weakness just to make the protag seem cool feels *real bad*.
Like… maybe you got plans on this one, but for now, these panels feel… off? And not in a cool Gog-agog kinda way, just in a “Why did we get shown behind the curtain which was busy being mysterious and interesting?”
Agreed. It gives the page a slight generic manga feel, despite a really cool scene. And it had me confused (moreso than usual, and in a less interesting way) because KSBD doesn’t typically do thought bubbles, so I was wondering why tf Gog was saying that out loud
Addendum : I’m also left confused by the impression that the infinite multiversal Worm presenting herself as a mad jester seems to have completely normal human-like thoughts (as commonly represented), complete with shock-hesitation.
But oh well, even the most excellent storycrafters can do things we don’t like/understand. Maybe it’s a slip-up, maybe the Author saw no other way, maybe it’s intentional (and maybe we’ll even get to know it was). I know I’m not competent to tell
To me this felt more off than before but in a good way. Who’s to say Gog agog is not playing a role directly to the reader? what Gogagog says is fairly stereotypical, maybe she’s even playing a role for herself. Who knows. Honestly this might just be another set up for yet another joke.
Literally the joke, yes. We’re pages into epic Eric Andre Twin Peaks reference and Gog turns directly to the camera and goes “M-MASAKA!?” It’s funny because its a dumb funny reference like the rest of this whole scene. “Completely undermine the whole Gog-agog is an unknowable elderitch abomination” yes because she is also a dumb mass media clown, that’s her whole deal, come on lmfao.
Good point, thanks. 4th-wall breaking isn’t much of a thing in this story either, but I can’t put it past Gog-Agog
One more vote for the scene working without thought balloons.
Hmmm… I’m thinking about it…
Actually kinda yeah, +
Gog-Agog might even blurt it out, like:”I even think you could do it!”or something. Sounds more like her.
I re-read the panels without the thought bubbles, it wouldn’t be clear what Gog was thinking about.
It’s Gog – who KNOWS what she’s thinking about on any given freak-out expression?
I think the point is ALL the Demiurges, even Gog, are human. It’s why they can’t win – they keep thinking like a human. Allison needs to BE A GOD. (I specifically didn’t say “think like a god” because the very idea you need to think like a god IS thinking like a human; and I avoided saying “win” because only a human thinks it’s some kind of competition you can win). To be fair, Gog is probably the closest to being a god of all the Demiurges.
Gog has very much always showed a lot of the insecurities of being a human, despite being a reset spanning entity!! It’s weird to think that such an entity having any insecurities at all… she should very much have a “been there done that” attitude, but instead she chooses to be the jester – kind of like how some people crack a joke to try to relieve the tension. By her own admission, this cycle is new – so for Gog, the tension is really high!
I do not think Gog is deranged. That’s only the outward appearance she puts on to cope with being a reset spanning entity with SOOOOOOOO many memories (also getting ‘killed’ all the time has really got make you want to act a little crazy). Gog is survivor: she’s worried that Allison might actually manage to punch her into submission… I’m really not sure how you would draw that without words… without the thought bubbles, I think that’s probably the closest you’re going to get: BUT the problem is US (the readers!) are used to Gog being outwardly unhinged, so we might miss her taking a serious moment.
Seeing how Gog kills her current incarnation in order to change a subject or follow another thought it makes more sense for the others to just kill her when they are done dealing with her shit at the moment. Changing the channel.
Agreed, this is weird. Have we had any thought bubbles in the comic at all, before now? It would have worked better to have Gog say the same thing out loud like a stage whisper directed at the corpse of the other Gog on the table, as part of her shtick.
If I could upvote this I would.
Agreed ninegardens, the page suddenly stopped feeling like K6BD and felt like an inferior manga offshoot. Not just the “show don;t tell”, but I don;t think anyone has ever had thought bubbles before… and they way that Gog is having the thoughts…
Ugh. Not a complete deal breaker or cause to “delete the bookmark”, but this was a flaw in an otherwise so far flawless run.
Why heap so much grief on one panel? After all the years of material (and mistakes!) that have come before, this is the hill you want to die on? Besides which, I thought seeing Gog’s pupils change when she had those thoughts was truly Rorshöck!
Oh yeah, is not a hill to die on, and definitely not a dealbreaker.
Is more… hell, I write. And I know that even if I don’t like it, I do find it *useful* when the readers say “Hey this sentence felt off”. “I’m not sure about this scene.” That kind of thing.
The intent is to be helpful, not to attack.
EDIT:
I will admit however, it does feel a bit much with my comment, and then the pile of other people adding to it.
Oh well. Not within my control.
I read it more as Gog is using a different voice to represent another facet, much like Gollum/Smeagol was acted in LOTR. Which tracks with the chaotic and battling personalities manifesting in Gogs diatribes.
Gog has already broken everything else except the cycle. Why not break the fourth wall, too?
I think it would have worked better to me if it was a cut to audience chatter, with one “Why do I believe her?” Gog in the middle of the rest acting amused at what a dumb statement that is, much like there was one grouchy Gog back during her announcer gig.
IDK why people are so upset with Gog Agog thought balloons. We are all Gog Agog on this blessed day, so it stands to reason that we know what we are thinking.
A couple of the Demiurges have offered variations of “Take my place.” This was true for Mottom and Solomon ( though the offer would’ve gone to White Chain ).

Mammon was too preoccupied with the Count to care about other things. He’d lost sight of all else.

Incubus’s offer was: Let’s WIN the Final Battle.
Jagganoth offered: Give me your Power so I may win the Final Battle and Break the Wheel.
Jadis’s offer: Share my Vision – so you can see how Final Battles are meaningless.

I presume that Zoss to want the re-set cycle to end, but yet he hasn’t spoken directly of his role in that or what outcome would be the ideal one he’s looking for. If his words early on were an admission that he too is trapped – then release may be his goal also.
Now here’s Gog-Agog’s offer. “Become me – achieve victory.” Except – if she’s consumed then Allison wouldn’t be herself.
Could Allison be the exception ? Could she be indigestible ? Eww.
All the Demiurges to this point have offered Allison their kingdoms.
Mottom directly, Solomon Show me you got what it takes and you can ask anything. But White Chain took that without understanding. Mommon even offered up his life to her knowing she could not take it. She could now. Jadis made the offer knowing that Alison would not accept. Maya is training her to take over when she spends her life taking Incubus’. Jaggs offered a partnership, but Jaggs is unkillable. Incubus wanted Alison to be one of his slaves. Do as he will or die. But she could not continue on the Path of Incubus after all the killing and Maya saved her.
Even the offers Alison initially accepted, she was unable to follow through all the way.
Zoss didn’t give her a choice. Zoss selected her, and with a minimum of guidance has set Alison on the path to Royalty, but lets Alison make most of her own decisions. Zoss wants something different, not more of the same. Becoming Gog-Agog sounds like the sort of thing to trigger a reset.
Up to this point none of the other Demiurges have accepted Alison as King, but they all accept that she could be another Demiurge. Gog-Agog just felt the first twinge of doubt about what Alison could be.
NOPE. How about a lunch of nope-aronni, around-nope o’clock at the nope noperria?
On no
Oh no
The consecutive killings thing are not a gag, isn’t it? It’s a real competition – each gog and agog is a distinct entity, and they need new hosts to jump ship into a physical vessel. They are skipping they’re turn to do a pitch.
Gog is not SUMA, it’s a body snatching pyramid scheme.
They all seem to share a sense of time. Even if they are manifestations of individuals, each seems imprinted with the original. Maybe the basic memories and more different from the true hosts total memories, but those are off loaded.
The swarm disconnects a sliver of itself and watches it struggle with all its might to survive.
A TRICKERY OF THE HEAVENS
A SAD CICADA PRETENDS TO BE THE ORIOLE
A FROG IN A WELL
Become one among the many, or many that are one. Will she become Gog, or will Agog become her?
maybe neither, it sounds to me like she is proposing her to become part of the worm network so she can do a backup of her memories for the next loop, and give them back to her early, so she can “survive” the loops too and try again, and again, and again
Allison gotta trust Gog a lot in terms of making no edits to her memories (or making any additional copies for own lulz) during all these long and boring cycles.
gogagog gogagog gogagog gogoagogagogaogoagoaogoagogogogoagoago agog let’s goooooooo!
let’s goooooog s’tel
If the second to bottom right panel isn’t a Pennywise reference then my name is Smith Vin Smitherson… and it’s not
Sorry Emperor, this is a no tadpole run. I do it my way.
No squid fucking.
