WHEEL SMASHING LORD 3-80
Chapter: 3
“Cut once, think not at all. Every situation must be handled this way. Any more than that is excessive and will only burden your sword arm with the weight of regret.”
– Ryo ten Ryam, sword saint

Damn fine coffee.
every day, give yourself a present
okay but when are we getting around to killing six billion demons
Never mind that.
What’s the POINT of killing Six Billion Demons?
At least that many die every time the world ends. Cycle after cycle. Ad infinitum.
I love it when someone gets to smash-appear with a DOOM it is my favorite thing.
A new foe has appeared! *sirens in background*
I will sue for intellectual property!
Every time this comic uses the DOOM sound effect I squeal and giggle and kick my feet like a schoolgirl
The obvious implication being that Cio wouldn’t have to “die” the next (or however many iterations it took) time around. However, while Cio ++’s entrance seems choreographed, she(?) isn’t really giving off a happy vibe about being here.
Also, Allison had previously expressed to Jadis quite dramatically about how she wasn’t willing to let the mutilation, etc. be taken from her, so Gog’s offer doesn’t seem like it’s going to get much traction here.
Yeah, Allison for sure isn’t going to go for it.
I do have to wonder, though, if Gog might help out Allison anyways if only because she’s so sick of the cycle.
My theory is Gog is offering it because she *wants* the offer to be rejected.
No second chances. No more turning of the Wheel. Break it now, or it will never be broken.
I think you’e nailed it
I don’t think so, I think Gog is serious in Gog’s offer. Ever changing yet never changed, marninating in Gog for unknowable billions of years, Gog is unable to be anything other than Gog. And Gog’s solution to any problem is more Gog. Thus, Gog is revealed to be the most stagnent of the Demiurges.
Gog has no plan, no scheme. There is only Gog. Stagnation personified. And stagnation can never break the wheel.
Al-Yisun knows that she will die, and when she will die. The absolute knowledge of her inevitability is forever scarred into her soul.
She chose to live, rather than cling to immortality. To accept death and cleave toward it through the entirety of her lifetime with the patient certainty of a sword’s edge. A single cut. The way of Royalty.
You could say she is letting her death grow inside her, much like Yaun did.
She rejected getting her limbs back, but the possibility of bringing the old Cio back is arguably much more tentative for her, and while I still doubt she’ll outright accept it, I could see her having to think about it and/or having to be snapped out of it by Neo-Cio themself.
Of course, however, even taking the worm might not help her with that. In Gog-Agog’s own words, “the roles all twist and change” between cycles: even if Allison makes it to the next cycle’s Third Conquest with her mind intact and finds Cio again, she would be a completely different person once again, separate from even the black flame of the prophecy, and she wouldn’t have any memories from her previous time with Allison.
Gog Almighty I love when she gets serious. Spent this whole damn comic waiting for the day we’d finally get The Gog-Agog Chapter Proper and it’s everything and more.
You need no worm to surpass death.
I saw the old worm on his stone, and the pup he lulled in with honeyed words. Then devoured him from within. His ego goes forth thinking “it was me that did this, I am immortal” when he is already gone, hollow and empty and filled up with rot.
Young hero, burn bright with your righteous fire of indignation, until it scars your very soul. You will know yourself even in the next life by your wounds.
The wheel keeps on turning.
Was this planned?
they have kermit the frog eyes
Why are there so many
songs about big worms
and how they are all agog
It’s not that easy, being *the only one who remembers all the previous worlds*
Nah, those are the eyes of an octopus. That horisontal pupil is pretty much cephalopod thing. Eh, also goats and such, but they are the progeny of Shub-Niggurath or something, so they still do count.
Oh fuck, is that a DOOM reference?
I said earlier, cease and desist or I’ll sue!
What difference is there between the crucified? The crossroads devil? The star-crossed lovers? The crossing of swords?
It is nothing. Each and every one of these paths are of the march out unto doom.
May you reach heaven through violence.
Cio 3 is about to RIP AND TEAR
I’ve heard it too many times to ignore it
It’s something that I’m supposed to be
Someday we’ll smash it
The rainbow connection
The gog, the agog and me
Ear worm. Oddly appropriate.
It’s not easy being Gog
Having to spend each day repeating Agog
When I think it would be nicer being You or Salami Dave
or something much more colorful like that.
It’s not that easy bein’ Gog
It seems you blend in
With so many other ordinary things
And people tend to pass you over
‘Cause you’re not standing out
Like flashy sparkles in the water
Or stars in the sky
The poses here are excellent! Abbadon blocked it out very theatrically, with the wide pace across the whole stage and then back to Allison following along with her speech. Then her slowly tilting backwards to the wide panel of her face is so dramatic and uncanny. It’s so *strange* but in a way that makes sense and fits the worm. She’s got stage presence!!
Also damn it she’s hot
Gog Agog saw the Shaft Head Tilt and said “Amateurs. They have too many bones and pieces of connective tissue to do this move justice.” In this multiverse it’s called the Gog Agog Head Tilt, because she copied Shaft and then made it her own by giving it 150+% effort.
So, what do we call Pale Cio? I’m going for Punished Coke.
That’s just Dr Pepper.
Vanilla Coke – Vie-Ennay Eleley Ciocie Cioelle (“Ennie” for short)
Ciokeyo?
Personally, I’m in favor of Glacier Freeze or Espie Ritee.
I think Diet Cio, surely?
Deeayaytie Cioelle
I concur. Diet Cio only makes sense
Crystal Cio?
Clearly, it has to be Ennie D’bya Ciokayie. They’ll cost the company thousands!
Ooh. Hi Cio.
Oh my Gog, it’s not!Cio!
I’m offering you a second chance to see all your loved ones suffer. As many second chances as you’d like. Gog doesn’t understand that what she’s offering isn’t salvation, it’s agog curse. She’s stuck as the wheel keeps turning, insane to the point where it doesn’t even occur to her that anything else could really be a possibility.
Gog knows exactly what she’s offering. More lifetimes of memories than the universe has had cycles, with more yet to come. An end to personal lonliness. Life beyond the eternal. Certainty of perpetual existence.
And all she has to do is share everything and anything she is or could be, forever beyond forever.
Gog knows exactly the horror of what she is offering. She just explained it. She has the might to rule the Seven Part World, but she is paralyzed by the knowledge that anything she does will simply be undone. She is Sloth, and Sloth is her undoing.
I thought Jadis was sloth
A little late on this, I know, but here’s my hot take, inspired by my latest reread:
Gog-Agog is framing this as an OFFER, but only because she thinks that if Allison sees it for the desperate PLEA for mercy that it really is, she’ll reject it for sure.
Gog-Agog has already said what she really wants out of life, though the first time I read it, I didn’t quite pick up on it’s true significance: she wants to be just as “stupid” as everyone else. She has the biggest, most complex mind in the history of the Wheel, and she HATES it. Like every other demiurge, she hates her own source of power, but isn’t really willing to give it up.
But she thinks that if Allison joins her, she JUST MIGHT get the best of both worlds – she’ll get to remain herself, and thus survive, but ALSO get to be SOMEBODY ELSE, who has all her memories but retains a completely distinct sense of self. That’s what makes her the true essence of Envy, in the 7 Deadly Sins motif of the Demiurges!
Everybody else who’s eaten the worm has gotten “fried” by “how awesome [Gog-Agog] is” (i.e. how frakkin massive her hive mind is), but Allison’s sheer badassery in the last page actually intimidated Gog, and that gave her hope that she’s finally found somebody who can join her without also becoming her – that Allison’s “got a shot”. Gog knows what she’s offering wouldn’t be salvation for Allison, but she DOES think it would be salvation for HER. The poor fool.
Gog claps at the pale devil. “Right on cue, just like we practiced!”
okay it’s the wierd pink fleshy thing again
I normally call her Allison
Oh, hi Cio
How literally does Gog mean this though?
The wheel comes ’round again. On Earth, fish become lizards, then shrews, then monkeys, then people. Meanwhile, back in Throne, Gog/Allison squats and squirms, bloated and unkillable. The next version of Allison is born, goes to college, becomes a barista. How is this an appealing deal for this Allison?
Tired Jape is observant. Gog’s offer makes no sense.
Gog has some way to retain her memories of the previous cycle.
She’s offering the *current* Allison a way to survive the cycle as part of her.
So, the method for Gog’s way to survive isn’t exactly explained. But since the turning back of the wheel seems to go back to before the Demiurges, and we’ve seen lesser versions of Gog in the flashbacks, it seems to me that it might be that Gog is probably not, like, physically time-travelling back to the start and sitting around waiting for things to happen.
The thing that would make sense to me would be that we’re really just talking of some sort of transfer of knowledge/personality (or just a worm) to the destined Gog-agog of the next cycle.
If Cio’s reincarnation has been wormed imma be PEEVED.
Alison tore her prosthetics out of her body with her bare hand cause she couldn’t stand to be removed from the reality of her experiences, I don’t think she’s going to go for the offer to undo her “mutilation”. In fact I think her response may outshine that of Lucifer when his father offers to remove his scars, if people remember that comic book.
Much as Mazikeen said to Lucifer. Remove these scars and by so doing, know oneself for a coward.
Fuckin tight reference bro.
Time for Gog to face her greatest weakness., strong women loving strong women.
Can she worm Allison and risk ruining the greatest, impossible sapphic romance in a billion eternities?
y’all better ship it before it fades from your mind, because the wheel resetting makes us all forget everything.
For the first time in a billion Kalpas, she sees someone who might survive the End with her. To a a creature that sees all of existence as trivially temporary, the possibility of having something enduring to hold onto must be more alluring than the most compelling addiction.
Gogagog should wear an I ATE THE WORM T-shirt.
Breaking heads in the dead sun
I ate the worm and, the worm won!
I ate the worm and, the worm won!
I needed royalty cause, I had none
I ate the worm and, the worm won!
I ate the worm and, the worm won!
I fought the Gog and the Gog won!
