WHEEL SMASHING LORD 3-58 to 3-59
Chapter: 3
“When man is young and bares his teeth and holds his head held high,
He stands astride the mountaintop and lays claim to the sky;
I am god, proclaimeth he, the lord of all I see,
And every beast and fish on earth shall bow and scrape to me;
But when man is old and cold of bone and grey and long of hair,
His flesh shall feed the rich black soil
The mountains do not care.”
-Old Uvur Rhyme
Looks like Moby Dick has changed a bit~!
White Chain, a bitch with wings: You sure about that, Salami?
Thank you for putting my first thought into words so eloquently!
Catch D. Fish, the First Fish-Rata user: Nah, I’d win.
Solomon got that reverse coomer arm
More cool fish, yay!
One has to wonder what sort of trouble he means.
Better get your big fiahing rod for this, White Chain.
At the last panel, they look eerily like father and daughter side by side. The Heir and the Fallen King.
Well… one of us can fly so, maybe only one of us is in much trouble.
Plot twist: the reason Solly’s saying “both” is because he knows form experience that the giant fish can ALSO fly! It’s JUST THAT BADASS.
But have we ever actually seen White Chain fly? Angel wings don’t seem to be designed with aerodynamics in mind. Some of them look like they’d probably end up doing a complicated form of self harm if they tried to flap.
The fish rule the sea, the serpants rule the air, and the wales all above me.
What is man, what is man, who tread the earth upon two feet?
One Fish,
Rue Fish,
Big Fish,
Blue Fish
Detecting múltiple Leviathan class life forms in the region, are you shure whatever you’re doing Is worth it.
Those wings could be looking an awful lot like some kind of fishing lure.
Why would you choose the lake with the giant fish? Are the fish from that lake really that delicious?
Privacy? Nobody else is likely to come ice fishing at giant fish lake.
Solly choose to stay in the shallows where the fish were smaller. Eating them prevents them from growing into this.
Wonder if he has also lost the ability to use lesser martial arts or if he just thinks none of them would be sufficient to give him the ‘ability’ to fight her.
I think the latter, considering his shrike display earlier.
Who the hell cast Summon Bigger Fish IV?
I am a bit confused as to why that overgrown tuna would be a problem. He used to be able to backhand a world out of existance with his powers and now she has inherited his powers and still has thousands of years of fighting experience.
So, even without Ki Rata he can kill and impale a bunch of people on trees? Of course fighting an angel is much tougher.
…give the key to the little fish so it can fight this big fish.
God fish, god fish, god fish.
i know many have already said it, but why the hell is the fish a prablom?? like, even if we disrgreed the key, “nothing but an angel beats another angel”-and besides the demiurges, we’ve seen nothing to discredit this claim. is this random ass fish on the same level?? does it have a key, despite all the keys being accounted for-did mr.not give this rando big fish one of the keys he earned? and if so….WHY?!
A potential issue I haven’t seen anyone else address is that the ice they’re both standing on is going to crack under their feet any moment now. I strongly doubt either one of our heroes is experienced in underwater combat, especially White Chain who was made of stone until relatively recently, and Solomon’s shriveled arm and breathing problems are going to make it hard for him to swim around to boot. If either of them falls into the water anywhere near this leviathan, it might be game over.
Also, this is much more speculative, but given the nostrils in lieu of gills, I’m inclined to assume this is some kind of reptile or whale rather than a mere fish, most likely the latter given the throat grooves and long narwhal-esque horn. Even its body type vaguely resembles those of a protocetus or a basilosaur. And whales tend to be rather intelligent, which this one already shows by knowing to break the ice right under its prey, so there’s no telling what other tricks it may have up its sleeve.
wait, the ice cracking was the fish’s doing? I figured it happened because of wc kicking ol’ sam across the lake like the football.
Oops, I assumed it was when I wrote that, but going back WC definitely made some cracks herself (at least with her first kick, I’m not sure about the second one). Might even explain why the whale was drawn to the surface in the first place. I’ll still be surprised if it doesn’t think to finish the job itself, but I guess it’s less clear how intelligent it really is.
She’s no longer purely an angel. She has humanity now. That strengthens her in some ways but weakens her in others.
look, if she’s capable of kicking the living daylight’s out of Sam than she can do the same to big fish!
I once heard a human commoner pronounce this saying:
“If you give a man a fish, he has food for a day. If you give a man TO a fish, he is food for the rest of his life.”
The commoner was then beaten soundly with cudgels as onlookers utter groans.
It’s a shame. I believe he had children.
According to my records, he did indeed have children; they were both city guards, who volunteered to be the ones to beat him with cudgels. A perfectly sound application of Justice, in my opinion.
Ironically enough, though, they were both eaten by a giant fish not 2 years later. Perhaps they should have listened more closely to their father’s advice!
Oddly, the fish was then put on trial for murder and the judge found him Gefilte.
Solomon’s Magikarp evolved into Gyrados
bro was out here singlehandedly impaling thugs on trees with one arm and emphysema and without using ki-rata. this has got to be the scariest man alive not currently trapped in a giant, magical orb. and no, i haven’t forgotten about incubus.
Yes, but they weren’t an angel with the key in her head. With ki rata, he could fight her. Without it, he can’t. Know when to hold them, know when to fold them. Know when to walk away and know when to run.
For instance, now is an excellent time for the angel to run because giant fish monsters respect no god or man; thus, the powers of both are useless against them.
No one’s quite sure why the Gods made them, but some say in the dead of night that their creation is why all the Gods are dead.
Aw man, it’s really gotta suck when you spend YEARS hyping yourself up for an EPIC REMATCH!!! (insert deathmetal background music) and then your opponent is just like “I’m to tired to fight you today, GG you win”.
It would seem the right word would be, “you”… wouldn’t it?
I like that her wings are kinda bi pride flag
Well. Out of everything I might have expected from this arc, giant monster fish under the ice was not on the list.
It is an excellent diabolus ex machina, however, and I wish more franchises would use it.
Now she will HAVE to use her power.
