WHEEL SMASHING LORD 2-43 to 2-44
Chapter: 2
“[…]descended there an angel with a silver sword. An the angel said ‘Come and see,’ and I saw. There upon the great hill of rot, the great and terrible beasts of the earth had gathered, and a hundred thousand times a thousand strong men, girded for war, with chariot and horse and war shade. The ground had cracked and the bowels of the land had split and all manner of ancient things from the cold and old world had crawled from the ash and were making havoc upon the land. There was a sound so terrible it could not be withstood except by those who had, through manner of hardship or war, been exposed to the noise of innumerable dying animals.”
– Vision of Extemporary Monk Lumuu (circa SC 245)
Honestly if Allison actually figures out a way to get Gog to do literally anything then she can probably skip recruiting the other three.
She could probably drown Jagganoth in such an unfathomably vast sea of corpses that even he would eventually get sick of the infinite murder and go take up fishing.
He might still need worms for that as well 😀
I don’t think it would actually take much more than being polite to get Gog to do anything, so desperate is she for approval. And yet the other demiurges couldn’t even do that.
Allison’s going to throw an all-out Tehran conference. Noice, I say.
But is she Stalin, Roosevelt or Churchill?
Some say that everybody dies alone but it is always better to fight with friends at your back.
At least she recognizes the importance of Gog Agog.
She has gone through agony and torture, That should have never happened to her.
However, she has come such a long way; compare this to the days before assaulting Yre-Inamon.
These are words that can convince me. This is a protagonist I can support.
Well done, Al-YISUN.
I wonder if Allison has to pass on the lesson about the rat to White Chain.
I also wonder if any facet of White Chain’s behavior is because the keys were made from something pulled from Metatron’s head, so maybe she hears him whispering in a way other key-bearers might not, or because 2 Michael says way back angels can’t wield the keys directly. Even if her nature has changed somewhat, could she be getting stuck on some facet of her angelic nature?
Interesting observation ! I hope we’ll learn about it when Allison presumably goes to kick her butt into shape.
and now I wonder what the angels (as a group) are up to.
I’d distrust implicitly anything said by 2 Michael, but Metatron’s words seem very relevant. And I still think the resolution of all this involves Allison confronting Metatron.
This page is Aesthetic as HELL.
That crown and that Atum.
Incubus and the losing side. Jagganoth’s goal is still to destroy the multiverse, and it is not like he was subtle or secretive about it. If your goal is not the same then his side is the losing side for you, even if you won in the war. Perhaps Incubus thinks he can use Jagg’s war to destroy competition, then somehow foil Jagg’s plan and rule, but if that so, then he is delusional.
Or he is not with Jagganoth anymore, just playing for personal gain, hoping that somebody else will take care of elephant in the room? A tad less delusional then, but still…
Incubus has said that the only goal is to Win. I don’t think he actually cares about the outcome so long as it’s him “winning”.
This. If the universe is destroyed, if he goes last he ‘won’.
Technically Allisson knows she won’t die yet and has more than 30 something years to live and die as over 60 years old woman (she will not get her retirement pension but oh well). So it is a bit cheating to say “I want to die with friends” where she fully knows it won’t happen like that or all of their group will live long enough to still hang around each other in that future.
Perhaps one should look at the nature of probability and deterministic thinking as tied to the nature of this current cycle. If Allison Al-Yisun is truly the wheel smashing lord, then her final act will be the end of the way things previously played out. Just a thought.
UrgeNT Urge matters. I hope it’s not urgen’t.
Just sort of a semi-hemi-demi urge
Were getting the gang back together!
Absolutely boss. 👏🔥
White Chain must be having a hard time dealing with the fact that she’s become that which she abhorred. She thought Solomon a tyrant because of how he ruled the city but now she’s in his shoes and she realizes that in this time of crisis people think of her as their new god-empress and she hates it.
People don’t necessarily “want” a tyrant to lead them, but it’s easy to see why they would want a leader or a flag under which to rally in order to find order, shelter and stability in a world where chaos and uncertainty are as common as dirt. It’s easier to cower behind the shadow of a Demiurge and leave the decisions to them rather than work together to find a common solution.
White Chain is starting to realize this but she also sees it as a slippery slope, one that she doesn’t want to slip into
Yeah… uh and, also, uhm… Allison looks quite… “big” in the last panel. Has she always been like that? Or is it some kind of funky Demiurge illusion?
SeekerOfSmusi – well said.
White Chain achieved a kind of apotheosis, becoming a new incarnate being – one not previously known or even easily classifiable. She’s unique.
Yet having changed so much and achieving a more human form did not prepare her to cast off the role they were created to play. White Chain wants to stay true to the role of peace keeper. In this she strives to remain true to the divine mission and the law written into her by the god Koss, son of Un. White Chain is one of the dwindling set of faithful upholders of the law, one of the original Concordant Knights – a paragon of Virtue in this respect – yet one considered a “heretic” by the elder of the Aeons – 2 Michael and their ally Juggernaut Star.
Why do these and other Aeons consider White Chain a heretic ? It’s because of that desire for the human form, for the desire to be able to change and grow, and ( though it was previously just expressed as a spiritual longing and only recently confirmed in “Girls Night Out” ) – to better delight in the sensuous nature of the world and what it offers. ( Though they don’t enjoy drinking to excess. ) This is the “softness” so derided and condemned by Juggernaut Star. Even more moderate Aeons found White Chain’s desires unusual and beyond the pale of acceptable wants. For a lot of Aeons the norm is and was – to be unchanging.
However, I’ve written here before that this norm also was overturned with the schism brought on by the Universal War. With the defeat of the Aeons by the warring demiurges – the devastating blow of their collective failure to uphold their divine mission led to the possibility of another change – one endorsed and empowered by one of their own – Metatron. Those who accept the mantle of Thorn Knights are transformed, empowered and ( I suspect ) may be surrendering their will to that of Metatron and their aims of Eschaton.
Juggernaut Star – being a true sibling to White Chain – is very earnestly driving in a yang direction – towards hardness, speed, focus and fire. J.S. wants the endless cycles of Zoss’s Wheel spinning to conclude and is desperate to serve that purpose. The knowledge of the cycles is a maddening torment. They conclude they no longer serve a Creator’s purpose but the whims of an unworthy inheritor – the Demiurge Zoss.
Having learned Juggernaut Star’s hopes – White Chain reviles J.S. for their evil intentions and appears to consider J.S. a heretic for casting off the Divine Mission of upholding the law and protecting Creation.
Okay ! A good recap – but where does that leave our Amazing Aeon-Human fusion Pree -who’s in denial about the need to adapt to a new role and a new situation ? I intuit and feel that White Chain will need a push from external forces. I’ll predict that she’ll seek to protect the Greater Good but needs a confrontation to compel her to grow once again – this time into a new role which may not be what she wants – but which she’ll see and accept as Necessary.
Allison mentioned some good strategic moves which can be played – seeking allies in the fragmented Empire-remnants of Mammon and Mottom. For my part I wonder what the Aeon faction will actually do. You were built to take orders – to Protect. Who then – will be the One who can order you to Destroy ? How long will it be before the Aeons find a pretext to confront White Chain ? Such a confrontation might make it very necessary to learn the all of demiurgic power. If White Chain would take my counsel, I’d send them to the last Master of Ki Rata for a start, with a follow-up discussion with Maya.
Maya’s question for Allison is still a really good and profound question. To give credit where it’s due – this is originally Meti Ten Ryo’s question. The Question of Violence. All of the other conquerors were Supreme Masters of Devastating Martial Arts. Where then is the Master of Love ? It could be argued that Yisun divided not just for Creations sake – but to discover the possibility of love – despite all the risks and hurts that entailed. By dividing, Yisun disappeared into Creation and by my reckoning – remains there at a mysterious foundational level.
PRAISE ABBADON !
YISUN ATUN ! ( Praise YISUN ! )
UN ATUN ! ( Praise UN ! )
YIS ATUN ! ( Praise YIS ! )
YISUN ATUN ! ( Praise YISUN ! )
VM ITTR A VSK YTTR ( Seek Heaven Through Paradox ! )
Magical “”enhancement”” of certain parts seems to be a part of being a demiurge, I suppose
Allison finally said the Phrase of Power;
“Hold my beer.”
Looks like she’s all out of bubble gum…
Mourn the dragon! Finish the count!
Wow, someone gets incredible power thrust upon them without warning and then doesn’t want to learn how to use it properly. We’ve never seen that before.
#sarcasm
The shrine to Mammon’s skull is really quite supercool.
Did Allison breasts got bigger ? Is it indication , or even source , of raised power level and power of the Key ? An actual superpower … Hmmm.
I mean just from a quick eyeballing alone they seem to be about the size of her head by now, though maybe that’s an illusion of perspective or something.
On more serious note ; so we see child with lost limb here. And can guess there more people with need for limb replacement off frame. And we know Jadis and her followers have tech to make prosthetics perfectly performing all functions of natural limbs. Am i the only one seeing this as problem and solution being right next to each other but somehow no one makes a move or even talks why it not being used ?
PS Also , i still remember demonstration of Art where Cio taught Allison how to make perfectly edible plum out of raw magic. Living matter , plum , can be created – that would mean , among many many Art users someone , and most probably numerous someone , would try to regrow something that was lost , help people. This is simple idea .. in realistic scenario people _would_ try to use this miracle tech for _all_ sorts of things. That what people do with all new tech/capabilities. (something-something enlargement , teehe) It not possible for some reason ? No answer , not even talks. *sigh*
darn Chekhov’s guns that does not shoot.
Friend, I apologize, but it may well be that these prosthetics are rare or greatly expensive. Something not easy to acquire and use. And it is true that mist simply do not practice the black art. It is a devils art after all.
When your back is to a wall you have something to push off.
Mammon has survived having keys extracted before. Are we sure he’s dead? Yeah the skull thing is usually a corker, but as one of the servant beings, is he not immortal by nature?
There is a name Allison has not mentioned. Maya.
The real question is what is Gog watching?
Stand-up comedy show made by other Gogs?
Also can Allisson really work with Incubus knowing he killed the love of her life just like that which as we see author pointing to will never be brought back in the form and mind she knew and fallen in love with and he wanted to kill her next?
Or Gog whose retarded betrayal basically forced all other bad events to happen?
What’s Gog been up to? Trying to take over Halloween Town?
