Seeker of Thrones 7-84
Chapter: 7
“Though the lord of the pit clads himself in finery and smiles, do not be bedeviled. He is a wretched, stinking king, and the minds of men are playthings to him.”
– Solomon David, Celestial Emperor

NOW THEY HAVE NAAAAAAAAAMES THANKS ABBADON 😀
yep, it got weird.
now, who’s that up there, and who’s our perspective tiny Aly? Ours has the Key, but the big one has the halo too.
The Key is only a magnifier for Divinity, several other characters, despite not bearing Keys, also have haloes due to innate force of will (Meti, 6 Juggernaut, and INGSVLD)
As pontifex says, I’m betting that’s her own inner divinity that all beings possess.
Once again, I did not see that coming.
Is it time to commit regicegocide?
Not many Venn-Diagramms show an overlap between regicide, suicide, and coup d-etat…
At least the big gal isn’t Naked Ambition. That would be awkward.
The babe with the power?
On a side note, we have pale, blue, red, green, gold, and ebon Alison, waow.
What power?
The power of Destiny/Incubus. It’s Incubus’ child!
“Oooh, I believe / Al-Yisun smiled and Incubus /
laughed as he came to my mother”
The power of VOODOO!
Who do?
YOU do.
YOU DO!
You do!
Do what?
You do.
The power of voodoo.
The power of voodoo.
The power of Voodoo!
What should be the color of “drunken sorority sister”?
Celestial Emperor is evidently correct.
Moreover, shades bear same colours as demonic types, with Ebon being superior among the bound.
Interestingly, the personas between pale and ebon don’t seem to align with their respective demon colors in regards power. And I expect that pale Alison will not prove to be the weakest.
Also of interest is that the outfits worn by pale and ebon Alison are different from the others’ in similar ways.
Have care not to underestimate Pale Devils.
Beneath the masks and names that hold them back, there is the same Hot Black Flame.
I have such hope for Solomon David. I mean, at least he knows evil exists. Just reaaally bad at identifying it.
Who knows, maybe we can wring some sorta honorable self-sacrifice from him in the end.
Incubus makes the best faces, as usual.
I love his office-awkward reaction. Dear ma’m, I must inform you that your behaviour is leaning towards disruptive. As a personal sidenote, YOU’RE IN CONTROL, MS. RUTH, now please do your best to clear my personal space.
Dayum. Allis-Incubus could GET it.
The Queen in Beryl figures rather large in our heroine’s subconscious, it would seem.
That is bemusingly close to “The King in Yellow.”
So is she really in control?
Her lust is in control. Of course, Incubus will tell her that that’s just who she is…
More, more, more, more, MORE!!
The red Alice. I like her. She seems to know exactly what to say for any occassion.
Also everything about incubus on this page is absolutely wonderful on top of the unreveal that he hasn’t, at least not directly, hijacked her body.
Annoyed at getting called at an inopportune moment. Wary wordlessness at being accused of something he didn’t do. Stern insistence of his position. And, to crown it all off, disgusted comprehension of alice’s predicament before she’s grasped it herself.
I’m not usually one for surreal headscape scenes, but this page is one of the best of the series so far for combining detailed, character-defining interaction and forwarding the plot at the same time. Just, just a damn fine page. Bravo!
I like the mug on his desk:
#1 God
Calling bullshit on it right now. This is still Incubus’s trick.
Obviously, as per the quote at the bottom of the page. He’s playing with her. Even if that’s “her” in some sense, it’s an aspect of her he’s made in his image. Literally, to some degree, given the color scheme.
Inside Out 2: Insider and Outer
And Arounder: Birds!
seems what she would expect incubus to be doing is driving rather than incubus himself doing it or at least that’s what i’m getting from the striking resemblance
What’s *that* Alison called? Powertrip?
SHIT! indeed.
Also, nice “#1 god” mug. Incubus is the most fashionable demiurge by far.
Didn’t notice that one , Nice
the immortal enemy called ‘I’
the flaming whip called ‘want’
the turning wheel forces outwards
Beneath the pavement
Forrest and mulch
Eating the dead.
‘Twas Ys-Myra
In the Great Pit
With a soup knife
a virus’ rebuke
jumps from branch to fruit
before making you puke
IT WAS ALWAYS ME!
THE CALL CAME FROM INSIDE THE HOUSE
This page is just further solidifying my headcanon that Incubus sounds like Eddie Izzard
He looks like a more butch Milo Yiannopolis.
So.. Does anyone know how to get the vomited Blood of All the Slain out of a carpet?
Asking for a friend…
As a norm, humans have very limited perspectives. That being the case, they oft surprise themselves with what they do when they find themselves away from the familiar.
Ya know what, I guess it did get “weird”
It’s a start.
Excuse me, but is anyone know where I can obtain a idol of the The Successor in her current mind-form as revealed by Incubus? Preferably 1/12th scale and made of molded plastic.
I’m happy: the journey is proceeding how I hoped it might.
Incubus has no need (yet) for a mindless puppet. He’s in for the longer game.
Alison will have to deal with one nasty consequence of being powerful : what do you become when you’re strong enough to be what you truly want to be?
Wonderful. Allison can’t even recognise her own wrath when she sees it. Definetely plenty of work to be done.
My bet is that when they finally find Zaid Incubus is going to destroy him for some theopolitical reason. And that’s when our heir is going to act in King’s way.
Dismember that pinked-eyed pervert and turn the corpse into quantum foam, I mean.
Those beggars don’t get in piles by themselves, you know.
If you change one of the emotions, is it still an Inside Out parody?
Or is Inside Out a parody of the Tale of The Rising King?
Alice just focuses all her disgust inward.
The wonderful thing about Pride is that it is always larger than it is.
