Seeker of Thrones 7-84
Chapter: 7
“Though the lord of the pit clads himself in finery and smiles, do not be bedeviled. He is a wretched, stinking king, and the minds of men are playthings to him.”
– Solomon David, Celestial Emperor
“Though the lord of the pit clads himself in finery and smiles, do not be bedeviled. He is a wretched, stinking king, and the minds of men are playthings to him.”
– Solomon David, Celestial Emperor
NOW THEY HAVE NAAAAAAAAAMES THANKS ABBADON 😀
yep, it got weird.
now, who’s that up there, and who’s our perspective tiny Aly? Ours has the Key, but the big one has the halo too.
The Key is only a magnifier for Divinity, several other characters, despite not bearing Keys, also have haloes due to innate force of will (Meti, 6 Juggernaut, and INGSVLD)
As pontifex says, I’m betting that’s her own inner divinity that all beings possess.
Once again, I did not see that coming.
Is it time to commit regicegocide?
Not many Venn-Diagramms show an overlap between regicide, suicide, and coup d-etat…
At least the big gal isn’t Naked Ambition. That would be awkward.
The babe with the power?
On a side note, we have pale, blue, red, green, gold, and ebon Alison, waow.
What power?
The power of Destiny/Incubus. It’s Incubus’ child!
“Oooh, I believe / Al-Yisun smiled and Incubus /
laughed as he came to my mother”
The power of VOODOO!
Who do?
YOU do.
YOU DO!
You do!
Do what?
You do.
The power of voodoo.
The power of voodoo.
The power of Voodoo!
What should be the color of “drunken sorority sister”?
Celestial Emperor is evidently correct.
Moreover, shades bear same colours as demonic types, with Ebon being superior among the bound.
Interestingly, the personas between pale and ebon don’t seem to align with their respective demon colors in regards power. And I expect that pale Alison will not prove to be the weakest.
Also of interest is that the outfits worn by pale and ebon Alison are different from the others’ in similar ways.
Have care not to underestimate Pale Devils.
Beneath the masks and names that hold them back, there is the same Hot Black Flame.
I have such hope for Solomon David. I mean, at least he knows evil exists. Just reaaally bad at identifying it.
Who knows, maybe we can wring some sorta honorable self-sacrifice from him in the end.
Incubus makes the best faces, as usual.
I love his office-awkward reaction. Dear ma’m, I must inform you that your behaviour is leaning towards disruptive. As a personal sidenote, YOU’RE IN CONTROL, MS. RUTH, now please do your best to clear my personal space.
Dayum. Allis-Incubus could GET it.
The Queen in Beryl figures rather large in our heroine’s subconscious, it would seem.
That is bemusingly close to “The King in Yellow.”
So is she really in control?
Her lust is in control. Of course, Incubus will tell her that that’s just who she is…
More, more, more, more, MORE!!
The red Alice. I like her. She seems to know exactly what to say for any occassion.
Also everything about incubus on this page is absolutely wonderful on top of the unreveal that he hasn’t, at least not directly, hijacked her body.
Annoyed at getting called at an inopportune moment. Wary wordlessness at being accused of something he didn’t do. Stern insistence of his position. And, to crown it all off, disgusted comprehension of alice’s predicament before she’s grasped it herself.
I’m not usually one for surreal headscape scenes, but this page is one of the best of the series so far for combining detailed, character-defining interaction and forwarding the plot at the same time. Just, just a damn fine page. Bravo!
I like the mug on his desk:
#1 God
Calling bullshit on it right now. This is still Incubus’s trick.
Obviously, as per the quote at the bottom of the page. He’s playing with her. Even if that’s “her” in some sense, it’s an aspect of her he’s made in his image. Literally, to some degree, given the color scheme.
Inside Out 2: Insider and Outer
And Arounder: Birds!
seems what she would expect incubus to be doing is driving rather than incubus himself doing it or at least that’s what i’m getting from the striking resemblance
What’s *that* Alison called? Powertrip?
SHIT! indeed.
Also, nice “#1 god” mug. Incubus is the most fashionable demiurge by far.
Didn’t notice that one , Nice
the immortal enemy called ‘I’
the flaming whip called ‘want’

IT WAS ALWAYS ME!
THE CALL CAME FROM INSIDE THE HOUSE
This page is just further solidifying my headcanon that Incubus sounds like Eddie Izzard
He looks like a more butch Milo Yiannopolis.
So.. Does anyone know how to get the vomited Blood of All the Slain out of a carpet?
Asking for a friend…
As a norm, humans have very limited perspectives. That being the case, they oft surprise themselves with what they do when they find themselves away from the familiar.
Ya know what, I guess it did get “weird”
It’s a start.
Excuse me, but is anyone know where I can obtain a idol of the The Successor in her current mind-form as revealed by Incubus? Preferably 1/12th scale and made of molded plastic.
I’m happy: the journey is proceeding how I hoped it might.
Incubus has no need (yet) for a mindless puppet. He’s in for the longer game.
Alison will have to deal with one nasty consequence of being powerful : what do you become when you’re strong enough to be what you truly want to be?
Wonderful. Allison can’t even recognise her own wrath when she sees it. Definetely plenty of work to be done.
My bet is that when they finally find Zaid Incubus is going to destroy him for some theopolitical reason. And that’s when our heir is going to act in King’s way.
Dismember that pinked-eyed pervert and turn the corpse into quantum foam, I mean.
Those beggars don’t get in piles by themselves, you know.
If you change one of the emotions, is it still an Inside Out parody?
Or is Inside Out a parody of the Tale of The Rising King?
Alice just focuses all her disgust inward.
The wonderful thing about Pride is that it is always larger than it is.
Welp, that’s a matron
#1 God
Nega-AlYSUN is lookin’ FIERCE
Meanwhile, there’s probably an even tinier, Little Allison and her Inside-Out Co-Cast inside the brain of that Big Allison.
I’m in love with Cursing Alison
I think that one might be Impotent Rage
Oh hi Alice’s royalty. This makes some sort of sense now. Probably. Maybe her identity has just become heavily disintegrated, or dissociated as the pros call it. Then all she’ll have to do is beat up her selves until they integrate or at least let her drive the Alice-car. I mean, this purple-wearing persona in the big chair seems to be 200 times her size and made entirely of the cruelty and self-assurance she needs to tap into those infinite magic powers, and she probably knows on some level it’s the only thing keeping her alive right now, but I’m sure she’ll find a way.
Do you ship it?
We all ship it, whether we admit it or not.
Giant Allison is hawt!
That #1 God coffee cup is so perfect.
#1 GOD?
I THINK NOT.
Everyone knows first god is Jagganoth!
Ah, so it’s less mind control and more artificial schizophrenia.
She told him to give her the strength to survive.
He just had to seal away everything holding hr back.
Consciences aren’t useful, right?
Do I know you?
Oh damn
You dont know your own mind Aly-shun, and in this case its a bit troublesome
Red-self has the right idea, it seems.
I approve.
Same, Sure-Curses-A-Lot. Same.
That is such a wonderful name
Sometimes the truth we seek is the truth that destroys us in the end.
Motion to start calling the red emotion “Nerd Rage.”
HOW DARE YOU!?!?!
Motion seconded, as long as it is simply a question of ethics in video game journalism or a discussion of how the ‘Ghostbusters’ reboot is an existential threat.
Seconded. Motion carries.
All in favor say “Aye.”
All opposed say “Nay”
Nay say I. I liked Sure-curses-a-lot, or even Sure-swears-a-lot better.
Motion seconded
Seconded.
I call a ruse! The Fire-Daemon’s revelation was a hidden, but obvious answer. That does not mean it is true. Recall the identity of our protagonist: Worm-that-will-not-be-devoured-or-tread-upon bends Fate like a pretzel! That defiance will still attract birds seeking to gobble it up. Look to the skies for the giant obscures BIRDS. Those are the true target. They are mobile weak points of “the heavens.” We must pierce through those heavens and rise above this illusionary ceiling! Maybe our little worm will see the truth.
Yass queen?
SLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY.. all your enemies in cold blood by the thousands
Billions, surely.
Oh Yassssss.
Don’t worry- I’m sure she’s not as tough as she looks. She’s probably much worse.
Dang, Allison in control is T H I C C with power.
Ruthlessness.
Also, white-hair-black-leotard wears the same earrings as Incubus. Good chances she’s the personification of the push Incubus gave Allison.
Birds are for scale.
Finally, Allison has found that terrible enemy called I. Will she find the absolute truth within, I wonder – that which is built from wondrous lies?
Oh yes. I’ve seen this before.
Humans have multiple voices within them. When one voice takes over and silences or ignores the others, the results are often elegant but rarely pretty.
Of course, usually it’s not the result of an outside power.
Well this is quite entertaining, than again, the dreams of men are always amusing and delicious.
I think that’s where the power boost ended up… It looks to be part Allison and part Incubus. Right now it’s kind-of Incubus’s pawn or at least is acomplishing one of his goals.
That thing probably is the power boost itself actually… now Allison just has to claim that power for herself.
My take on it: when Incubus gave her a boost, he would have naturally chosen to boost the part of her that was most like himself. This accounts for the visual similarity. It’s a sort of inner-essence-coming-out thing, shared by both Incubus and Giant Punk Ali and, quite likely, anyone else who has the same proclivities and power.
IOW, it is part of “herself” and always was. She doesn’t have to claim it for herself. She has to integrate with with the rest of her, and prevent it running the whole show without interference.
At the moment Giant Punk Ali is doing a bang-up job of keeping all the Ali’s alive and progressing towards her goal, so it’s probably best to not try and interfere just now.
But it will definitely be necessary in the near future.
I’ve been to places with trembling stones and self-sustaining rivers, but the mind has to be the weirdest.
I pose that White Allison is not the real Allison, but just another part of her mental make-up.
I have crippling depression~
#relatable
Are the birds circling Big Allison’s head also versions of Allison?
1# God
I just realised that there are birds for scale in her head…
All I wanna do…
So what you are saying is that she’s gone full loopy now with a god key. Great.
I wonder what the background Alisons are named.
I’m calling the small ones Memories, and the large ones Traumas. Not quite so active participants in Allison’s mind as the Emotions, but important nevertheless.
Revelation comes in naming the Powers truly.
And which Power has Incubus put in charge?
Self-reflection is a dangerous but necessary task.
Is our “hero” going to have to kill herself? If so then I hope it is appropriately rad.
To reach enlightenment it is necessary to destroy one’s self.
“You’re in the sunken place”
Ok, but like, I’m just glad that the one who’s in charge is the one with the best haircut. That’s what’s important.

Who and what is this one? And why does this one remind us of Allison’s discovery?
I’m curious whether viewpoint-Allison has ever really been in control.
She was, at least as much as any of us are
How can you control anything without understanding it?
How can you understand anything without understanding yourself?
Incubus should beware, trickery and a lust for destruction will surely snuff his flame.
Goddammit I love every page Incubus is on He’s so great
Plot Twist: Incubus is completely honest, upfront and above the board in his dealings with Allison, and will remain so until the end of the story.
Honestly, this would be fantastic, especially if he seems to be a manipulative scumbag the whole while through.
That you ambition? S’been so long, I could barely recognise you in Alison, let alone myself.
Oh nice. A super family economy sized Alison. Just what I always wanted.
I’m pretty sure you can’t get one of those at Costco.
“Every throne is merely a chair, but not every chair is a mere throne.”
Hmm… Yeah, it is still Incubus’ trickery at work, but a bit of obfuscation and everything seems legit. Divide and conquer.
Interesting that we see Allison finally taking an internal look at her prison, where before she was fixated on staring out the prison bars. The infinite dungeon of the Mind is now revealed. Will we soon witness her exploring and conquering self-made internal perils while simultaneously navigating the infinite dungeon of Mammon? Hmm… How to go about destroying Self so that only I remains…
Now, I think we’ll eventually see a Grand Conjunction of Mind (all aspects) and “Reality”, where “Allison Prime” reasserts her dominance. I eagerly await the circumstances that will bring this about, and I theorize it will be a threat to the life of Cio ~ whom Allison considers a friend… even while denying it.
And lo, the full scope of Allison’s psyche is revealed. Her Ego (Viewpoint Allison in white) has been subconsciously subsumed with her Id (The colored personas surrounding her), and now finally, revelation of the cause: The full manifestation of her SuperEgo (Big Allison with blue hair and amazingly slick look), YISUN.
YISUN is Allison’s fully realized potential, having shed the shackles of self-doubt and outside affirmation. She, YISUN, is whom Allison wants, needs, and will become. With the sliver of divinity fully awakened, Her true self has finally deigned to show Herself, and what terrifying beauty it is.
When the final ascendance is achieved, the advancement of Ego-Allison to SuperEgo-YISUN, and the full acceptance and integration of the Id-Personas, the will of ALL-YISUN shall be done.
You know Big Alice is Bad, because she has a second Halo made of bats.
It just goes with the whole post-Goth Incubus look she’s got going there.
