The Storyteller once said that Gog-Agog would be the most powerful demiurge, if ever she could pull her disparate selves together toward a common goal.
I fear we are about to witness the truth of those words.
Agreed that the Pact doesn’t mean much to Gog Agog. She’s not motivated by honor, and really doesn’t seem to care too much about anyone past Alison. (And the reasons for that interest may well have more to do with the Key than with Alison herself…)
But if Jagganoth continues to piss her off, he may provide Gog Agog with other motivation, and she may act against him for her own reasons, rather than for the Pact.
And that, I suspect, will be a sight to behold.
From a suitable distance.
Measured in light-years.
Gog has tolerated past insults with quite extraordinary restraint. This time however, we see Gog annoyed. I wait with considerable interest to see what happens when the worm finally turns
When Jagganoth does his unkillable thing, it hurts him, as White Chain pointed out. Does it hurt Gog to put herself back together again? Or is she too high on her own craziness to feel it?
I do. She’s a hedonist, anyone she shares herself with gets constant euphoria. And not only that, she puts on a great show! What more could you want?
Lots, of course. But it turns out a sapient parasitic disease doesn’t really understand humans and what’s good for them nearly as well as it thinks it does.
It’s a bit up in the air whether the people she ‘shares herself with’ exist in any capacity beyond however long it takes to eat their brain. Kinda hard to philosophy yourself nice after that one.
This panel is stuff of legend:
1 – A billion Wiley E. Coyote’s can’t hold a candle to Gog Agog’s unkillable, visceral visage.
2 – Whatever horrors Jaggy visits on the skies above Rayuba, his cosmic board shorts rule the apocalyptic red carpet.
She has had… like.. a lot of practice putting herself back together. Like… Just a lot. I imagine over the course of however long this specific cycle has run, the other Demis have gotten used to blasting the Worm out of hand when she’s being “annoying.” And when you have to do something over. and over. and over. and over. You eventually get good at it. good enough that you can do it without thinking about it. and you can leave your real thoughts for more important things. Like.. winning. or surviving long enough to FINALLY get to monolouge for once. The WORMS are speaking now.
you know its far to easy to forget gog agog is also a dematurge
Easy to forget, but extremely unwise. Remember that SD, for all his power, couldn’t actually get an infection of her out of Rayuba.
….oh
*worm*
Quick, someone get the tequila
Beware Random Worm Events
oh how the tables have wormed
even a worm will turn. The tables, that is.
The Storyteller once said that Gog-Agog would be the most powerful demiurge, if ever she could pull her disparate selves together toward a common goal.
I fear we are about to witness the truth of those words.
She’s honoring the pact out of obligation and bickering while she does so, I don’t think we’re about to see the full worm.

“Never go full worm.”
“Always go full worm!”
If we cannot see the Jaggahog, perhaps we can at least see Gog-Agog’s worm.
The Stoyteller told us that she’d win in a fight to the death, because she is the hardest of the Seven to truly kill.
I think the Red God is stronger, in terms of hitting harder, but what is strength to one whose defenses are beyond mere strength?
Out—out are the lights—out all!
And, over each quivering form,
The curtain, a funeral pall,
Comes down with the rush of a storm,
While the angels, all pallid and wan,
Uprising, unveiling, affirm
That the play is the tragedy, “Man,”
And its hero, the Conqueror Worm.
Ah, the classics!

Geez the beam is still hitting her as she’s reconstituting. No-selling a powered-up mouth beam, that’s kinda nuts she’s able to do this.
You took the words right out of my mouth(beam)
oh worm?
Her clothes are not destroyed. They too are all worms.
It’s worms all the way down, and all the way up.

I love how she pulls a reverse doctor manhattan in the last 2 panels
“I’m disappointed in you, Jagganoth. I’m very disappointed. Reassembling myself was the first trick I learned.”
Little did Jagganoth know, he’s only the second largest damage sponge present.
When Jagganoth does his unkillable thing, it hurts him, as White Chain pointed out. Does it hurt Gog to put herself back together again? Or is she too high on her own craziness to feel it?
I am infinitely stoked for the next page now
In the words of the poet: It’s fucking on now, asshole!!!
You have awakened the wrath of the Gog-zebo
Say it with me.
You can’t keep down the clown.
Hark! Jaggy is about to get down with the clown, all jokes aside.

So do we think Gog-Agog truly believes she is trying to make things better for everyone?
I do. She’s a hedonist, anyone she shares herself with gets constant euphoria. And not only that, she puts on a great show! What more could you want?

Those aren’t board shorts, they’re cosmic Spanx! Jagger be puttin on weight, and he’s sensitive bout it.
Well of course it’s all about the apocalyptic red carpet. Haven’t you heard?
Royalty is a continuous strutting motion.
Proverbially, the beginning of wisdom is the fear of clowns.

Even the worm turns.
It’s worm o’clock
The PSALMS
Book II – The King In The Tower
Verse 3: YISUN is the weakest thing there is and the smallest crawling thing, and the worm upon the earth and in the earth.
So, that bodes *horrific*
That’s been on my mind too. I’d actually LOVE to see Gog-Agog start quoting scripture as she gets serious.
I kinda like this from canonical Scripture ™:
Mark 9:48
where their worm does not die, and the fire is not quenched.
Even though many comments are quoting The Conqueror Worm, I think a more appropriate Poe quote comes from The Masque of Red Death:
“No Mask? No Mask!”
There is no mask, it’s all worm.
You are mistaken, I’m afraid. That’s neither from “The Masque of Red Death”, nor from Poe at all. That’s “The King in Yellow”, by Robert Chambers.

Oy vey, you are correct sir! It’s been so long since I last read Chambers… still, I think it’s the appropriate quote.
Hello, Grandpa. I have Mr. The Unspeakable on Line One. Do you want to take the call?
Oh, worm?
