Wielder of Names 4-79
Chapter: 4
“It’s said a man should put prudence before power. Well them that says that don’t have power do they? And them that has power don’t have the time to think about prudence. They pull their bloody swords out and hack away!”
-Mars Pallatrix, Belligerent Knight
This means that Mottom has to deal with horrible piles of gross old skin all the time every day.
How do you deal with such skin? OM NOM NOM NOM NOM
EX-FO-LI-AAAATE
I’m guessing these heart fruit things don’t last very long, considering Mottom was young in her throne room, and then two panels later (and presumably no more than a few hours later) she was old and withered, and now she’s eaten six of these heart fruit in order to become young again.
Could it be her plan to enslave Allison to the fruit, making her dependent on such fruit in order to maintain her own natural youth?
A peach without a pit. Purposeless.
Also the veins take these peaches likenesses to flesh from “disturbing” to “condemning.”
…Yet I cannot help but wonder how Alice’s devil-biographer will record this incident. “Mother Om made me eat her veiny pink peach” could be prime fodder for one who desires to write blaster, messier, sexier history.
To my tastes, the veins make the fruit go from ‘disgusting’ to ‘delicious’~
Given that the flesh of the fruit looks more like a citrus than a regular peach, I’d say it’s entirely possible that they’ve got a bunch of little seeds in the middle of their flesh than a big pit in the center of the fruit.
Ach, I suppose I do not know if it is a peach. But to my ears, apricot of immortality? Lacks the same ring.
Excellent. If there’s one thing I know about paths to power, it’s that you must take malady after metaphysical malady upon yourself until you emerge, transformed and radiant.
Pretty Demiurge Royalty, Demiurge Gluttony! In the name of Glory, I will eat you!
Why is Mottom suddenly talking in black?
That’s our girl wonder. The goddess is still speaking in red.
I’ll call the grand mage. We need his counseling. By the way…NONE SHALL PASS…you know why, cus we’ll drive fist to your face and blacken your eyyyyye…you see?? I am the phantom pugilist, the spectral brawler, the hessian conquerer, the immortal warrior out of the ziggurat… I AM The Master Of Fists…BEHOOOLLD…
Ho hum. Anyone can beat their hands against an enemy like a savage. Come back when you can break their bones with just your voice.
Or are fists your master? You seem to have spent much of your life in their worship.
When your fists follow you away from conflict and towards reconciliation you will have mastered YOUR fists. When, at your command, the fists of others throw down their weapons of hatred. Then THE Master of Fists will you be.
Uhh…yeah i guess you’re right, in fact, I’ve been a little bit drunk recently. Don’t know with what. Power maybe, power of my fists. Well actually i have a strong will and an intelligent mind, trained in the ways of archaic indo-persian vedic monks but this cruel life has taken i’ts toll on me and i’m not able to persuade myself and listen to the voice of reason. Unfortunatly i am a mercernary now and cannot think about a different way of life.
Doors of heaven closed on me
Damned in pack of pugilists
Blessed black wings i possess
The silver back one, Master of fists
A worm wonders, what if each New God had a method of eternal life unique to their sin? Oh the symbolism of giants.
I think this is the case, aside from Mamon who already defies aging. Perhaps the Grand Dragon needs his wealth for other reasons. Jadis, at the very least, probably has a health-related reason for being encased within a solid block.
As I speculated in times past, Jadis may sustain her life indefinitely by simply refusing to metabolite. No movement means no life lost.
This is already known. It is said that all seven have their own personal path to eternal life. Each have different strictures, and some are more corrosive than others.
That’s just freaky.
many lessons here: I wonder which will be learned by our own. we will see.
Well, I want a shower now.
WE do wish that there will be more exposure of the workings of the guilds. WE are quite interested in this aspect of KSBD.
I am confused. Is this magical food something that gives eternal life or does it give episodic, recurring, temporary youth? Is the “eternal” life eternal, or when it wears off does the eater go ahead and inconsiderately die anyhow (like the Hag was starting to shrink, tremble, and struggle there a bit)?
It’s probably like the fruit of immortality from the Nordic pantheon, you eat the golden apples to remain yoing young.
One can attain immortality through ass-gobbling.
Who knew!
Are those fruits from that King she turned into a tree in the audience Hall?
Yeppers!
Let the Blood Harvest continue!
Come on, Allison. Out of all the crazy shit you’ve seen so far, this is where you draw the line?
How does the fruit taste though.
