I’d already fallen in love with allison but this made me adore her so much more because she looks terrified but also Fuck This. Fuck All Of This! And she just saw THAT- that… horror cloaked in faux compassion, and she’s STANDING UP.

Maybe it was more the fact that the petals were floating toward her in particular for some reasont hat bothered her, or the sense of the Key of Kings being present. People just not bowing right away probably happens enough from people just being too nervous or oblivious to move that I’d think if that was it she’d just give her guide a few seconds to correct her before bieng taken aback.
Or maybe she just really hates those shoes. Or, worse for Alison’s world, really likes those shoes.

I absolutely love this. She looks so scared and yet there she is doing it anyway. Mottom looks surprised, intrigued and SUPER pissed. Go Allison.

I still remember the first time I felt it. The bone-rattling fear, the sudden clarity in my perception, the sense of objective… I can’t say it felt good, but it was certainly profound.
I would rather believe that the Blood Flower is afraid, s standing before the one prophesied to depose her, but those other feelings apply too, I suppose.
I am often left in great suspense after every page is released but this is too much

That’s a great insight, and makes perfect sense. However, I prefer the notion that Allison herself is just that courageous.

I pity Mottom that she has not learned this lesson. Perhaps she will join this once thick-headed skull in its sorry existence.
There’s even more reason to stand than that: Allison has been waiting for at least five hours, probably more like eight, to get the Blood Flower’s attention. If Allison kneels, she would need to wait for several more hours (likely even days) to get it. By standing, she spares herself a long wait.

Lust and gluttony do get to rule over my senses too, I like them for their instantaneous gratification. They do not go against my will though, because only a fool would deny themselves moments of beauty.
For True Royalty, it is a simple task to conquer kingdoms. To peel back reality and find the one truth is an easy task, and it takes but single word to cut worlds in two.
But to kneel? Such a task would be insurmountable to Royalty.
