Wielder of Names 1-2
Chapter: 1
Extradited to the gods of chance, the deities of all things random
Alive, multicolored, twitching in their dead monochrome world
-Meshuggah, Catch 33

That “…is fundamentally fire” in black in this page, is that intentional, or a mistake?
Absolutely a mistake, (made while fixing another mistake), but caught it, thanks!
Hello there Abbadon,
Have you received my question by mail?
Hello! I’ll check but I’m not sure I have. Just in case, please re-send it.
Cheers!
Mail re-sent

Is this right?
Don’t know if anyone cares, but the description at the end, “Meshuggah” is “crazy” or “insane” in Hebrew.
Also.. Ah, Kos. Or some say Kosm. Do you hear our prayers?
Meshuggah is a Swedish metal band. The quote is from “In Death – Is Life” off the album Catch Thirtythree.
I wonder if Aesma would be proud of her handy work.
What kind of brush do you use for KSBD? I dig those smooth and clean lines. Default small round brush in PS is similar(ish), but still not quite there.
I’m guessing it’s a steady hand and a high, hiiiigh resolution.
Could she feel anything else?
The handle on the right looked like a microphone on a stand at first glance and I immediately pictured the rightward extension of Yisun doing a doo-wop song…
Ahhh, so all those guys are servants. I initially assumed they were “alt-humans” from the other realities.
It would be wrong to guess at the aspect of a physical creature by her similarity in appearance to this, or any other depiction of the races.
For one thing, the most essential trait that distinguishes Sustainers from Perceivers is not physical at all. For the former, it is the gift of Purpose, known from birth, and for the latter, the gift of Desire. It is a rare creature, who is called to the opposite aspect, which we sometimes call “Genius.”
For another thing, you would usually be wrong. Mortals are exclusively shown with the visual aspect of Aesma, who in turn is shown, by convention, as the race of the artist.
Bah, Purpose is no blessing. Now, Desire? That is a true gift.
If humans were created by ‘gods” how does one explain evolution? Did they create the “idea” of humans that causes them to exist naturally though a random sequence of events?
Can a worm comprehend the processes of a star? No?
Perhaps what is known as evolution is but a symptom of the process of the forging. After all, is forging not a process of refinement and correction? Perhaps the blade that the fire would become is unfinished, and we shall never know its true form.
Beautiful. The mysterious austerity of the first page makes the wonderful riot of color, action, and depth of the second page all the more delightfully powerful. Your work is utterly amazing. That your art, mythology, characters, and plot are all so preternaturally superb is both astonishing and wickedly enjoyable. You truly know all Seven Syllables of Royalty.
Each spoke of the Wheel is a story, told by the death of a god. Evidently, that which uttered your universe told a tale where the Perceivers arose from a sequence of lesser creatures.
You ought to sell this as a poster or print.
So this makes Mammon a spirit, I see. So spirits/servants either possess bestial characteristics or they seem to be plain weird, like Omun Vash and his crack like massive nostrils in place of eyes. If he’s not based on an animal, what is he?
He and his kin are Goblins.
In retrospect, it is obvious. That which is not angel, nor human, nor those of whom the narrator does not speak, are servants. What else could they be?
I do love how, though it has it’s own mythological basis and such, you share one thing in common with the judeochristian stuff: an angel is not something you would ever want to encounter, nope nope nope, leaving us.
Thanks Aesma.
Am I the only one who misses Allison’s horns?
Nope. I hope she gets them back. They gave her a cool look.
Where do animals fit into this taxonomy?
Excellent question. Animals fall under the purview of the Beast Headed God in imitation of the work of her elders. They lack the same flame of consciousness as the other orders of being and so are not included here.
“You’re meshuggah!”
“I am not your sugar.”
— The Party
So what does this make my Ideal Prim then?
God, Human, Servant or something in between?
She was once a servant to a once time Disciple of God but she was able to cleave from that and forge her own path like the Children of Aesma do.
In love and in glory
We worship her story
I’m sorry to break the Fourth wall of Dimensions but why do my thoughts not enter the space of the communal Whole?
“Worked by the Gods Koss……and Aesma”
Ever since I read that little story about her and the Three Masters, I can’t help but see Aesma as the “Meg” of the pantheon, fused with Eric Cartman.
