Gog, ironically, clings to victory too much to understand Allison. Gog’s whole thing is that she’s given up on victory, yes, HOWEVER! Her entire worldview is predicated on the idea that there is no such thing as victory and everything is futility. That to try is, in and of itself, to fail.
The concept of Victory is as strong a shadow in its absence as it is a shape in its presence; thus, clinging Failure is just as grave an error as clinging to Victory.
Gog’s mistake is considering victory at all. She’s resigned herself to be the All-Powerful Ultimate Cosmic Loser. It keeps her dull and unfocused and content with her stagnation.
I do wonder what she’ll be capable of if Allison can inspire even a shred of genuine effort out of her. What she can do when she’s not doing it for the lulz and the lulz only.
