Assuming she survives the dragon, at this point I think the only way she’s going to get Cio to forgive her is with some serious demon / human makeouts.
Speaking of makeouts, you’d think mastering her Incubus side would have given her access to SOME of the powers of the Key. There’s no shortcut in defeating a monster in your own head.
I wonder if Allison tries to run and is met at the other side by a transformed Cio now in a Yabalchoath type form. She was not killed, but like the demon in the fight used will power to transform herself into something more powerful
So see here, a mundane maiden from the City of the Angels. Frail and wounded, but doubt not that she bears within her brow the Key of Kings and within her breast the soul of Saint George.
No Alison, you were always healing the human way, the personality change just allowed you to ignore the problem.
I am going to state a guess here: the big dragon/Mammon we have always seen is an illusion – the real one hasn’t grown at all. If you buy into the illusion it becomes real enough to kill you (and a wielder of one of the seven keys is powerful enough anyway). Remember that Yabalchoath got away with a key, but not the memory of the vault, which indicates that protecting information about the vault was more important than a magus key. So if it isn’t Mammon’s size that is misrepresented, then there is some other critical weakness of Mammon that Alison can figure out now that she is actually in the vault.
My claws Spears, my teeth swords, my scales Shields, my wings hurricanes, and my breath is Death
…look at those swords, like cocktail picks. That is one MASSIVE dragon.
I think Mammon is blinded by cataracts, see the paleness of his eyes?
He was blinded long before, by ambition and greed
I’m hopeful that we’ll get some philosophical conversation out of Mammon, like we did with Mottom.
The golden heap, engraved with loam.
what weary eye would see death in this vault?
It occurs to me that our prior visions of Mammon lacked a certain sense of scale.
That’s one big boy!
Well, to be fair, he was much smaller earlier. Like, human-sized, when they were a disciple of the first king.
The sign of kings
I’ve No Real Insight
but she’s one to be crossed.
Don’t worry Allison- I’m 99% confident that you can take him.
He got a beard. Everyone run!
He got a beard. She’s screwed.
In Multiversal jargon, this usually receives the name of “adequate timing”

~shhhhh, you’ll doom us all.~

“Well, thief… I smell you…”
“… feel your air, and I hear your breath. Come along, then… there’s plenty, and to spare…”
fantastic words by JRRT, and delivery by the late great Richard Boone.
GLITTERING GOLD, TRINKETS AND BAUBLES – AWARDED TO THE BRAVE AND THE FOOLHARDY ALIKE
Horrors may indeed stalk these halls, but yonder, a glint of gold!
Assuming she survives the dragon, at this point I think the only way she’s going to get Cio to forgive her is with some serious demon / human makeouts.
Or maybe I’m just being hopeful, I dunno.
One can only hope.

Impressive how he never throws those swords away. Very thrifty.
those swords look so climbable. It’s like freakin, tantalising.
Hey question: this here dragon critter was originally one of “the Gentle People”, and still had the same body form AFAICT.
So why do the Gentle People have teeth like crocs? Coz that’s not seeming particularly gentle, if ya know what I mean.
And I still want to know where the cat is.
Cool dragon though.

Without consistent control of her divine strength, Ali will have to rely on her words to buy time and placate the dragon.
So she’s getting eaten here, isn’t she?
So see here, a mundane maiden from the City of the Angels. Frail and wounded, but doubt not that she bears within her brow the Key of Kings and within her breast the soul of Saint George.
Hah. The Dragonslayer need not be called.
Behold a dead god, and pity him.
This one wonders if there is any significance to Allison adding what was left of her jacket to the pile.

Behold! A dragon descends from up above and besets the party! Be not full of sorrow however, for this great beast appears to be blind!
