I feel like the devil-speak is getting less and less creative in its deviations from normal speech. I’m not complaining, but it is a bit disappointing.
I believe that it is simply Cio becoming more used to talking to non-devils, a sign that she’s warming up more to them. Plus, to be honest, the Black Speech would lose its novelty over time and become boring if it didn’t scale back like this, and I think Abaddon understands this.
If you will recall, the Rising God-King, Al-Yis-Un, did command her Court to speak with ‘No Cryptic Bullshit’ mere minutes ago.
Given that the Rising Godking has recently slapped a Demi-urge to the ground in her own Palace and lived to tell the tale, it is quite likely that the Devils are rapidly normalizing their speech patterns in order to survive until bedtime.
I suspect Black Speech will become a thing they enjoy amongst themselves, and dare not use in front of Al-Yis-Un, for fear of her glorious wrath.
In my world, the worshipers of the Grand Dragon proclaimed that Mammon, in his wisdom, recognized that all other beings are incapable of taking possession of wealth without desiring more of it, and that, accordingly, the finest place for such corrupting baubles was within his vaults. According to those priests, Mammon knew that his goal was likely to be seen as selfish by those who did not understand his desire for equality among all.
The whole situation was rather depressing and I spent the better part of a decade sitting very still in a forest glade. Equality in owning nothing is not what I was promised when I bought Mammonite bonds!
Hmmm to those wondering how Mammon retained his power after the theft I suggest considering the purpose of panels 1-4. The great keys can be fragmented. Cio stole A key from Mammon, but not THE key. Cio stole a single fragment of Mammons key rather than the power entirely.
Uther "Chaos Angel", Least of Jagganoth's Foreservants
It is perhaps a mistake to consider keys as the source of a demiurge’s power. The keys hold Power, yes, but the Seven were able to acquire them because they were already powerful. Mammon has a key, but he also controls a literally unrivaled financial empire, possesses a natural aspect of agelessness, and could demoralize you by sitting on your grandmother’s house.
Though I know it be dangerous to let ones guard down around devils, I cannot help but feel a bit of pity for old Cio. She looks so pathetic in that last panel. Of course, I’m sure the last being who said that about a devil died a slow and ultra-violent death.

Perhaps it’s for clarity, benefiting us readers.

Solomon Grundy want pants, too!
Turns out there are only so many dirty deeds you can get done dirt cheap, when going up against the richest dragon in the multiverse.

The Keys are the jewels in the crowns of the Seven. One does not wear a crown without being able to justify it, lest one looks very foolish.
Are you suggesting that Mammon wears only a fools treasure on his brow and keeps the majority of his purse secreted in a safe or vault of some sort?
It is as though you took him for some sort of merchant or banker.
One could argue that glory which is bought is not glory at all, though the results of it could be well admired.
Hmmm. Interesting.

I was once permitted to stroke Solomon’s beard. Occasionally it is all worth it.
She’s so cute in the last panel! Sometimes hugging your knees and looking pathetic pays off.
I quite like Yabalchoath!
Overindulge! Regret nothing! Ask no forgiveness!
