Hrmm… Sure would be a good time for the would-be ruler to learn how to lead, eh? Figure she’ll have herself at least one ally in White Chain (and a potent one at that). Would like to see her draw the 108 burning stars to her side, so they follow her in a different way than they have been already. Heh. Maybe engage Maya as a tutor after that? Gal has to learn how to wield the blade of want somehow. Reckon?
So him moving that big block was just him flexing his muscles and showing off to the plebs? He could have just waved his arms and build that arena in a day?
Does he get off on ‘saving’ people from unnecessary slavery that he inflicted upon them himself?
I think he does get off on saving people from unnecessary slavery, yes. He may criticize his sons for failing to live up to his image, but he also never truly lets his people struggle on their own. He swoops in and “helps” when they aren’t quite up for the challenges he creates. He likes to think he is a wise and even merciful Paternum, but I think the truth is his pride cannot truly stomach someone capable of equaling or surpassing him. And so he denies Rayuba and his sons the adversity that could forge another like him, then chastises them for being too weak.
342 Annoying Voice Returns to Proclaim the Obvious
When the turn of phrase “reach heaven through violence” was first uttered it was in sarcastic dismissal, effectively a judgement regarding a stunted ability to cultivate…
…but over the eons humans took that phrase and made it their own, effectively inverting its meaning.
It looks like a Storm reference. Storm was a comic by artist Don Lawrence. In one of the episodes, there was a huge arena fight where contestants had to survive in a field of sinking hexagonal pillars, while fighting each other. The last one standing on the last remaining pillar was the winner.
I remember playing at a tabletop game convention in the early nineties. A Dutch guy was demoing his game about melting pillars of ice and Inuit who would push each other off. So I mentioned the Storm comic, and he said that it had inspired him to create that game. But he changed the theme because the violence didn’t work out.
It’s funny how often K6BD echoes stuff from my youth, like AD&D Planescape adventures…
The Violence didn’t work out?! Obviously not one for reaching Heaven then! But maybe he reached profitability instead, which at least permits a comfortable life on the way towards the inevitable.
You assume that he doesn’t want that. He wants someone to succeed him, to free him to travel and seek enlightenment, but he won’t leave his world to burn again until he finds someone else to protect it.
Allison is probably going to have to be rather rough with him to convince him she is that one.
You know what battle royale allows and classic tournament doesn’t? Temporary alliances. Best way to survive is to find your friends or make some on the spot and guard each other’s back unless there’s no one else left. Just remember to only trust newly met people a bit, never fully.
Hrmm… Exactly. That was my thought as well, in my comment above. With 108 burning stars chasing after her… they should stop following her and instead start following her, if ya get my meaning 😉
She and Maya are already sort of acquainted. I think if she could win Maya over the rest would join up. Can’t wait to see how it pans out.
In my head I picture WoT, when Matt happens on that group of pikemen who are about to get wiped out. He takes charge of them and the rest is “history”.
Good thing I’m specialized in fighting groups.
Hrmm… You ARE the Brute Squad!
AW HELL YEAH
IT’S ON NOW

So it turns out that you can count on the clown to keep her promises, Gog dammit! What an unsurprise.
Can’t, dammit, I meant can’t.
Never trust a clown. This is axiomatic.
Never follow a clown to a second location.
Battle Royale? It is my secret hope and fear that we get a panel of Solomon David dabbing over a fallen foe.
Abby you couldve designed the colosseum as a Tilted Tower and that would be more full circle
At least Al-YIS-Un has a friend in the arena.
If White Chain doesn’t floss I swear to god I’m gonna riot
Are you a dentist?
I was wondering how Abbaddon was going to wrap up this arc without it taking forever. I see what you did there…
NO GOD PLEASE NO!!!!
It was an unreasonable offer, so I could not leave it unfullfiled! Battle royale it is. The milk-dripping Goddess has spoken udder truth!!
Also: red cards are used by referees to ban players. Very symbolic!!
Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny. It ends with Al-YIS-Un vs. Mister Rogers.
It took far too long to find this comment.
There are two possible reactions to this:
-This is a Fortnite reference
-This is an Achewood reference
Before you ask, yes, you are being judged based on which one you pick
This is a Tetris 99 reference actually
it could be a Battle Royale reference
Or it could simply be a reference to the concept of battle royale.
Shhh! To some people there can’t possibly be any valid concepts before Fortnight.
Youth is wasted on the young.

The wood cures the ache
This is axiomatic
is that calling card for Cio or for Myself, Ruler of the Devils???
(i would love a way to have upvotes in the comments thread, i wonder if there’s a way to embedd reddit into the comment section or something??)
This is a foolish move by the wise king.
If you push her beyond her capabilities,
she will simply become more powerful
than he can possibly imagine.

The fact that SD says “Battle Royale” is so surrealistic I can’t even be mad.
(Plus, this development definitely dismisses the dreaded fear of a protracted tournament arc, so thank you Abbadon!)
We were *afraid* of a long arc that’s mostly fighting and less talking?
Attitudes were mixed.

Well, it stands to reason that the demiurge of pride is not to attached to the virtues of patience
This isn’t what I thought was coming. It’s better.
I’d play this Battle Royale game
