Many of my Brothers, and increasingly more, choose the path of Thorns. Many of my SisterBrothers, Delicious a glorious/vainglorious exemplar, chose the path of Petals. Neither follow the Concordant Harmonies any longer, they deviate, they change.
White Chain had begun his own personal change – until her mind was poisoned by Metatron and Michael. Who are themselves both seeking change – on a scale maybe quite a little bit grander. And in the same breath we mention that even here we witnessed brother 17 Lectures go from (very)enthusiastic Aeon henceto reticent Aeon.
All Angels may be cut from the cloth of the White Flame, yet the sartorial range on display is wide, for those who wish to notice it.
One’s own vessel may be set of stone, but one’s spirit no longer! One’s name befits a Holy Thorn Knight, but one’s mind no longer! One has instead scoured the Holy Texts. 19 Graceful Butterfly Mortally Torments the Wilfully Insipid, Chaotically – emerges from a spiky pupa. It may or may not even be her final form.
If the world rearranges itself around you, and you stay still, then you have moved relative to the world. Moving to maintain the status quo is itself change, thus, change is inevitable. But that’s a hard lesson to face, particularly for those committed to being unchanging, unwilling to recognize it when it happens.
Just a thought, but was it ever considered that the angels and devils are just two halves of a whole? So with Allison and Cio merged and equipped with a Key, they are actually the closest to the ‘True God’ that has been around since forever?
Devils and humans are of the black flame of YIS. Angels and servants are of the white flame of UN. YIS and UN are they two halves of YISUN, the progenitor deity. The Key contains the true name of YISUN, so the true name of all of existence.
Hrmm… Interesting that they are all shaded the same orangey colors. Can’t wait to see all three of them finally joined in one smoking hot & cold flaming union of justice, compassion, and destruction. Hrmmm!
Unnumbered Shattered Sword Gives Heart to the Hopeless
I don’t know if they’re ever going to combine like that … but I definitely want to see Cio and (83?) White Chain sitting on Jagganoth’s shoulders while they and Alison talk him down from trashing the world.
Cio is coming out behind Allison, not her left side. Look at how all their shoulders line up. She appears to the left because of the angle of the scene.
on the one hand, with all of their talk of subversion idk if they would actually throw that at white chain (like she could just up and throw it at solomon or the other angel), on the other, white chain kinda needs to get slapped.
And then they get blindsided by the second angel that everyone seems to have forgotten about. The one who convinced White Chain to attack Alison. That has been sitting off to the side watching the last competitors, other than themselves, beat the snot out of each other. I can’t remember who said it but the relevant quote here is “The best way to win a one on one fight is to be the third to arrive.
That angel didn’t explicitly tell White Chain take turn against Allison, merely admonished White Chain for their behavior, though it wasn’t made clear which behavior. Also when White Chain began her musing and Allison’s “failures” they seemed more concerned or confused than approving with their faint “*cough* *cough* …wait.” Finally in the moments before White Chains attack they made to rush in to intervene calling out White Chain’s name. I do not believe White Chain’s current course of action was their desired result.
I’m not convinced that this is what the other angel wanted. I found their words very cryptic, and still hold out the possibility that they’re over their shaking their head about what white chain read into them.
The alternative is definitely possible too, though.
Anyone else remember that Alicio’s form draws power directly from Alison’s white flame and is dangerous because it can exhaust it? I’m starting to get worried about the energy they are exerting in this fight, especially given the alt text on this page.

And the devil consuming the human’s soul flame is the result of the devil becoming the dominant personality in the fusion and using up the humans soul because they seem them as food and a tool. Cio cares about Allison and would not do that. Also they are using the Key of Kings as a power source, not just their own soul flames.

I think one of Cio’s motivations in offering the fusion is to test herself: can she keep herself from feeding? It takes wisdom, restraint and the emptiness of hunger. If she can manage this, then perhaps her neutron star of guilt at having been Yabalchoath will be a little lighter.

But one believes that the observant Preem is quite correct also. Cio in the union is as vulnerable as a devil ever can be, feeding so directly, and is being incredibly trusting, having made no compact – there was no deal with the proverbial devil, just mutual trust and respect (let us glide over the inestimable predilection for young nubile human women).
Her presence allowed Allison to realise the true power she already had (but had been unable to see), and to utilize that power without exhausting herself as previous; that power of the Key of Kings is more than enough to sustain them both. At least until teatime.

If White Chain were to combine like this, would she come out of Alison’s right side? The side of order and Law?
And, would Alison make the fulcrum point between all three? The point where Order and Chaos meet?
