You are partly correct, I think. However, it is her stone body, her anchor to the realm of existence–of creation, of humanity–that gives her a female appearance. Banishment to the Void as the result of its destruction would cut her off from this.
I regard her use of the full angelic arsenal as a very grave matter. It is, in a way, a betrayal of what she once held almost dearly.
Considering White Chain uses devil-banishing technique that is highly self destructive, two of Allison’s friends are gonna end up in the void with their mask/armor in pieces… which will leave her alone after the fight. Oh no alone with normal-dude-Zaid which is definitely worse
How could you forget our two ancillary friends so easily?! A certain Red Devil and mechanic will not be very pleased…
And on that note, I choose to believe our Zaid has used his endless hours as the captive and pawn of the Seven Rulers of the Multiverse to focus on self-care and self-improvement, ultimately becoming a sexier, more muscular, more compassionate human being.

When a planting goes wild, climbing beyond its intended bed, or growing along a different path, many gardeners attempt to prune their stray back to a nub and try again.
Though White Chain has tended Allison with intent and determination, she has not tended her with thought and care. It would behoove this aeon to recall, though, that Royalty is by its nature unwilling to be subject to the cutting of others.
the positioning of white chain’s wing blocking that punch is extremely phallic and considering white chain’s gender issues and how they tie back to her loyalty to the angels, that’s probably intentional.
i hope she survives to regret this.
White Chain may well have fought devilskin warriors before, and probably things even worse. (Didn’t Abbadon say that Angels used that martial arts of theirs against minor GODS?) Allicio looks worried and with reason. For all her potential power, she is no match yet for an angel going all-out to defeat her. Unless Cio (Who had a piece of a Key for a while, so she must know more about them than Allison) comes up with some trick, it looks like this really might be a repeat of the Allison/Yabalcio fight, with White Chain winnin and only then realizing what she has done. At least WC doesn’t WANT to kill Allicio. I don’t think. No.
I am beginning to suspect that White Chain is jobbing right now and we’re about to find out just how far apart in power Alison/Alicio is from Salami Dave
Prediction:
White chain annihilates Alicio breaking Cio’s mask in the process (Krayu Mat has been described as a demon banishing technique).
Alison subsequently uses the key in a great act of will to either:
A) Create, reforging Cio’s mask. White Chain realises it is mistaken about Alison but not before its body is consumed by Krayu Mat flinging it back into the void.
B) Destroy, White Chain’s physical body. Alison goes into a rage overwhelming White Chain despite Krayu Mat therefor proving herself worthy of Royalty while also laying some harsh truths down for White Chain
Either way White Chain finds itself in the void for a bit of soul searching and returns to a brand new (physical) body that more accurately (and fabulously) reflects her true form
When an angel, a sexless being, is following the LAW as a robot would its programming what other pronoun would one use? Doubly so when it’s actions are in base in denial of their innermost beliefs
Also, if this is intended as a reply to my previous post please note the deliberate pronoun use in the final line
Precisely. ‘It’ been more a reference here to one without will, an automata, then a PC-less gafe of a gender substitute. But please continue to educate me on the travails of this world and why it means so much to you that you must transfer the baggage here.
Yes, it was meant as a reply. I was sure I clicked reply on your comment.
In all fairness, you have a point and I did not notice your shift of pronoun, but it still seems… mean to me to call a character “it.” I am not badly upset, but I do feel like commenting on it because it annoys me a little. It might annoy others much more…
I know this is an old thought, but it’s still nagging. This is an old story. Biblically old. We have a (stone cold) angel who thinks his/her (Zoss) god has made a big mistake and has decided it’s up to him/her to fix the mistake by eliminating it/her/humans from creation.
Is there going to be a casting-down from Supreme arrogance and a creation of an appropriate Hell?
K6BD epic reveal: Allison fails, and is revealed to not be the true heir. But neither is Zaid. The true heir of Zoss is Number 1, the red imp from Chapter 2.
This sort of all-out full frontal assault makes me wonder whether Al-ys-Un has in any way practiced her ability to teleport herself (much less ships containing all of her krewe) quickly on demand.
I mean, that would seem like a worthy power to master, given that teleporting away has been a great get-out-of-jail free card for her in a couple of situations (even if in one of them she was pushed by Cio).
Can’t imagine any martial art which wouldn’t benefit from the ability to teleport out from in front of your enemies alpha strike and behind their undefended back.
White Chain has forsaken the path of the Empty Palm for the Closed Fist. Likewise, Allicio has not thrown an empty palm once in her admittedly short life, while of her components, Cio is famously hot tempered (she is black flame corporeal), and Allison only open-handed one strike in the whole tournament (the bird). Even when she called out ‘Empty Palm Crushes the Deceitful’, she through a closed fist. She only remembered and tried to practice the Trigram Mantra once, immediately before Cio arrived.
Both of our combatants here are direly in need of reflecting on the Trigram Mantra. Our devilskin warrior will have difficulty (if I’m doing my math right, her soul has an effective 1.5 black flame to .5 white flame composition), but our angel, cold as their flames are said to be, seems equally hot-headed and head-full.
Maybe if they can burn off some of that anger, they’ll be in a better state to reflect on what they actually want and what is preventing them from actualizing that.
(I really wish Allicio had retorted to White Chain’s “and then what?” with “Ask Zaid what he wants, and try to give him some agency.”)
i just caught up with this comic after putting it off since the end of the first book. HOLY HANNAH HAS THIS GOTTEN AMAZINGLY GOOD. thank you for the wonderful characters, the gorgeous world and background characters, and the like actually nuanced discussion of gender and sexuality without it just being labels. bravo
Here we go. :sigh: Still crossing my fingers Allicio comes out on top.
I think this is a very violent transition for White Chain. If her stone body breaks, she will have to learn to live as her female self.

Her astral form has been reshaped, by her long sojourn in Throne.
Too much time among humans has taught her what change is. Only death and the corrupting influence of infinity can help her forget.

Why not kill 6 billion angels instead? Looks like they are easily manipulated and have critical thinking skills of a 4 years old anyway.
I stand behind this vote. Angels are a thing of the past anyhow, gotta recycle them into useful things.
Why not kill one angel, six billion times?
6,000,000,082 White Chain Born in Emptiness Returns to Subdue Evil it is, then!
Brilliant

Angels can’t die. She will have all eternity to regret this. Personally, I hope she comes to her senses before that.
Cockblock?
Wow White Chain… way to show your true colors.
You couldn’t pull this shit to clear the field, to actually assist Allison, but you could manifest in this manner for the purposes of ENDING her?
There’s a reference in there somewhere…probably. Nah I must be imaginin things ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It seems… that I have returned to the front lines. Soon I will be called away again, but it is good to be back, and what a time for it!
Why use “it” for our fine and noble sister/sibling White Chain? I find it disrespectful.

It implies an object. They is a more appropriate pronoun that is gender neutral.
