King of Swords 8-83
Chapter: 8

It may not be elegant, but its efective: Kick him in the family jewels. There will be time later to discuss if it was called for or not
Arm sick! Arm #2 sick as well!

Kick him in the nuts. Worked for me.
Band? ( no article, definitive or otherwise)
That was supposed to go somewhere else.
“Third Eye Blind” is what you were perhaps looking for?
Curious Wandering Knight Obsessed With Time, is making a Band reference, above.
Is that an “I have an idea” “wait!”, or “oh shit too quick” “wait!”?
Just use our head. literally.
I’m probably in the minority, but I kinda hope Allison doesn’t win? If she somehow charges in and wins through a sudden new power or ability, it goes directly against everything she learned about not recklessly charging in every time.
That said, Gog-Agog’s comment about how Eris’ attack was “super obvious,” and how he just swings his sword into thin air (doesn’t even seem to be in range) at a stunned, practically defenseless Allison in panel 6, makes me wonder if he’s intentionally jobbing the fight. (He even explains his attacks to the enemy last page.)
I highly doubt she’s gonna use any magic here at all, nor any special move.
Instead, my bet is she will either trip her opponent….or kick him in the dick. He’s also committed to a lunge, so she might go for the “Dodge the lunge to cause a ringout” option. But I’m betting dick kick.
Allison has already been significantly harmed by her folly. By the look of that second-to-last panel, it seems like whatever she does will either be something she learned on Earth or something we’ve seen before.
Eh, I think Eris Lo-Kai is just feeling very complacent. Explaining the attack is a form of gloating to his opponent, I think, as is swinging at the air. Basically, he’s got enough time to dilly dally between attacks because she’s just powerless against him, is the message.
Nah, Eris wants the win, his problem has always been that he’s too busy being a showman to just win the bloody fight.
Two fighters will learn humility this day.
C’mon Allison, it was a move strong enough to beat you. The
KILL
BOSS
KICK
Improvise, Allison! You were kicking faces just fine back in the King of Swords chapter!
There are several ideas currently being postulated:
1. She’s gonna trip him, sending him over the edge of the arena.
2. She’s gonna knee/kick him in the dick.
3. She’s gonna catch his lunge with her teeth.
4. She’s gonna dodge, and let his momentum carry him off the arena.
5. She’s gonna head butt him.
In likelihood I order these: 4, 1, 2, 5, 3
While three is admittedly badass, it’s pretty unlikely and super risky.’
Five just logistically doesn’t really make sense as a counter to a lunge.
Two is in character, but there’s not much pointing to it other than it would be a kick.
One is possible, however it wouldn’t have the flare of four.
Four seems most likely due to the look of realization in the second to last panel, and how much Eris is over-extending himself with another jumping attack.
Allison has clearly just remembered something, so I’m expecting some kind of move. I can’t imagine her suddenly remembering to dodge.
There’s also “Block with eyeball”, but yeah I predict either a dodge or fancy legwork.
Not a dodge because in panel 4, Gog-Agog says “she almost dodged that one”, meaning she already tried to dodge. So whatever she just realized, it isn’t a dodge.
I’m not saying it is likely, but most fitting would be the Crane Kick from “The Karate Kid”. It was an unpracticed move that Daniel had to resort to after his opponent disabled him, similar to this situation although in the movie it was a leg that was injured.
I actually predict is still “Empty Palm strikes something”. I remember her teacher also used Empty Palm tecnique with his foot a while back, so why couldn’t she?
Maybe what she remembered was the fact that he said to her that every move she could do with hands could also be done with her feet or some other kung-fu mumbo jumbo.
Empty Palm Kicks Evil in the Face
Yeah, that would actually make sense, due to the fact her realization is in reaction to her thinking “I have to use a foot technique, but I don’t know any”
Fire the forehead lazer!
She can do that, right?
So, are those 2 banners by the ring in panel 4 symbolic of each fighter? And if so, which one is Allison? The one that looks like a gate, or the one that looks like a heart?
when one is most assured of victory is when one is weakest
So , about that “I set up matches” , promise of Gog-Agog .. it will totally work out , right ? We have nothing to fear , cause lady Gog-Agoga totally know what she is doing , right ?
*Looks like my comment that included a weblink didn’t make it past the approval process.
Hrmm… As a child of the 80’s, there is only one “foot technique” that everyone my age knows: Crane Kick. Well, either that or the David Lee Roth roundhouse kick.
“Only thing your foot’s ever been good for is getting stuck in your mouth,” says a zookeeper on a distant world under a binary star, speaking to a single-legged simian as it once again lodges its singular appendage in its maw. The creatures are actually capable of mimicking speech, but the voice of this particular mono-monkey has never been heard, as its bad habit manifests as a nervous tick when pressured to vocalize in front of a crowd. The previous zookeeper insisted vehemently that the creature would sing and dance, but whenever he ran to retrieve a witness, the creature still had its foot in its mouth. He was eventually taken away to be committed.
Heh… Reminds me of a fella that found a frog in box once.
“Hello my baby, hello my darlin’, hello my ragtime gal!”
This too was easily foretold by the loremaster of plots.
