King of Swords 5-49
Chapter: 5
“Many fools admire the Gods, thinking them admirable and wise, praising their virtues, and asking for their boons.
I’ll tell you one thing friend, there ain’t nary a pious farmer who comes up short when it’s time for burnt offerings. He’s always got a lamb ready. He may not know it, but he remembers why the Gods are Gods in the first place.
You can ask for harvests all you like, but never forget they sup on fire and blood.”
– Mars Pallatrix, Belligerent Knight

I wonder if any of Solomon’s offspring know Ki Rata. Did he try to teach it to them or did her prevent them from learning it? Did any of them trail and fail, which is S-Diddy doesn’t think any of them are worthy of inheriting his empire?
I doubt he’d ever give up Ki Rata’s secrets. After all he knows what happened to his masters when they took on an apprentice.
S-Diddy! Heeheeheeheehee!
Now I got to wonder what would have happened if he used two fingers.
😉
The Salami man has a good point.
Okay, terrified again.
None of your are surprised I wager.
in “i see satan fall like lightning” Rene Girad states that gods might developed from scapegoat-victims and their carthaic influnece in societies. Might be a fun little influence for our amazing pantheon. keep up the goodwork, love every spread of it.
He would feel pretty foolish if he came back from his trip to find the ladies hadalready abducted the lad.
Finger breaking stone means little if the target is already gone. 😉
“You’re paying for the new table, Solomon.”
One thing I find odd here is how Mottom phrases it as keeping him *safe* from her. What does she mean: Just keeping him safe in the sense of preventing him from getting his hands on the key, or that Alison is taken as a threat to Zaid’s life for some reason?
Ok, why do these idiots still think the runt is the heir? Hasn’t Alison proven by now she is way more competent than that boy? Clearly the King intended to make her his their.
one reason may start with m, and rhyme with progeny
(and is, funnily enough, an all-inclusive game)
I had to go back to the very beginning and read it again. It goes like this: Allison and Zaid are about to make it when the King shows up and whips out his Key. Then the thorn knights enter, and one of them grabs Zaid and splits.
Why? Could it be that the King was about to stick Zaid with the Key and the thorn knight foiled that plan? In any case, only Allison is left with the King and she gets Keyed. Could he have just settled for second best? Maybe he needed to ditch the Key and she was the only one around at that point.
Actually, that sounds fairly plausible. The one thing Zoss said at the time (in normal English anyway) was the word ‘king’. Then the Thorn knights appeared, beheaded him and abducted Zaid. It was only then that Zoss, even without his head, grabbed Allison and rammed the key into her forehead. Makes you wonder what would have happened if the Thorn Knights had been a few seconds later.
Exactly. If you can imagine that Zoss was looking for the least likely receiver for the Key – poor, hapless Zaid – then whimpering virgin Allison might not seem like a bad alternative.
However, it is Zoss himself that names allison “kill six billion demons” and encouraged her to become king while storming Yre. Perhaps the Conquering King’s plan is more complicated than we think
All of them aside from Incubus make the assumption that Allison is just the delivery girl and not the heir herself, but from what I can tell, Zoss already tried giving Zaid the key right out the bat in another timeline and it did not work out.
Jadis’ prophetic image back in 4-78 clearly showed White Chain and Cio but mysteriously had the heir shrouded. Me thinks Jadis knows but is stringing the others along so she might achieve her most sincere wish.
I don’t know, I mean did you see the shorts the heir was wearing? Not many men wear shorts like that.
It looks like Allison to me. Even the skin color matches hers better than Zaid’s. And if that is Zaid, then where is Allison in the whole picture? What are Cio and White Chain doing next to the new King if it’s not Allison?
Fella must be REAL fun at parties.
Somewhere in the vastness of the cosmos, we see a dining table of fine pedigree being decorated by the finest artisans in that bejeweled city it inhabits. The table has begun to weep, much to the confusion and dismay of the artisans, unaware that it weeps for the kindred that it will never know. Also unaware are they of the precise mechanism by which a table may weep, and may they never be so unfortunate as to learn.
So I’m going to cycle around to a theme surfaced in the comments a couple of pages back, the pecular resemblance to incubus that Alyson seems to be turning into, right down to the scar paterns. This seems ominous considering when she is languishing in the window after sex with Cio, she says ” I feel weird…oh, I dunno, like my body is not my body” I’ll just say Dun-Dun-Dunnnnn, and leave it at that for now…
Is it just weird coincidence that even the very first time Allison rolls into Throne and gets knocked out she ends up with a faint version of those scars?
Indeed. Abbadon is playing the long game. Reaaaaaaaaal long.
Demiurge ‘discussions’ are a bit hard on the furniture. And landscape. And world.
A remodeling team with the right contract could make a fortune following them around. From a really long distance behind of course.
Should have also said:
Everyone is saying how the little finger strike is nothing to the powers of the demiurges. While that is true, I think he is reminding them that he beat a demiurge with that power. And thereby gained even more power.
I don’t get it, why is it supposed to be impressive that Solomon destroys a table by touching it with his pinkie when Mottom fucking blows up heads with pointing her finger?
It’s like banging a gavel in a courtroom. A call to order.
Because heads are such frail, mushy things when compared with enormous pieces of stone. Especially when the head is really just a bunch of worms.
well yeah but my point was really that Solomon seems to have to contact with the object he wrecks but Mottom blows shit up remotely
Consider that before he was a Demiurge, he was just a man with martial arts powers.
He then killed a Demiurge with JUST those martial arts powers, becoming what he is now.
The sea may also do such a thing. The only difference is the length of time required.
Gog-Agog is 100% the in-universe stand-in for K6BD fans.
Agree. I personally like how her court is clowns with balloons. HONK
Nobody actually exploded her head that time, she did it herself as she could see what was coming and if anybody appreciates a running gag it’s GOG
