It had it’s head blown off, it demands they stop. It’s request ignored it does it happens again, then someone else gives a speech they all stop and listen. I can’t imagine Thrones entertainer Queen enjoys just being ignored.
“Abaddon” (or “Apollyon”) is a fairly common religious reference, though, for authors who want to make something edgy/apocalyptic, so I wouldn’t take it as evidence that Abaddon’s heard of Worm. But Abaddon has probably heard of Worm; I think you eventually hear of every good work of fiction on the internet, if you’re a webcomic author.
I’d never even heard of Worm until about a month ago from some fans who were acting like Twilight fangirls about it. I started reading it and my first impression was that it was a load of absolute amateur garbage. The more of it I read, the more I realized that my first impression was correct. I’m still reading it just to see if it actually becomes as good as everyone claims it is. So far, it is not. (I’ve heard a rumor that he’s re-writing it though, so hopefully he’s learned from his past mistakes.)
I’ve even checked out some of Wildbow’s other works. It all reads like mediocre teenage fanfiction, and he seems to have an even bigger ego problem than Alexandra Erin (writer of Tales of MU) in that he doesn’t even like *constructive* criticism, he just wants people to tell him what a great writer he is and fellate his ego.
Please stop reading if that was your first impression. I felt exactly the same as you, having heard of it’s reputation and it is awful. I made the mistake of reading all of it, because I find it difficult to not finish a story.
Trying to defend something by saying “at the very least, its better than” is, basically, openly stating that the thing in question is utter irredeemable garbage, but you will still defend it on the general principle of “because”.
That’s not even choosing a sliding slope to defend against a rolling down steamroller – that’s starting in the foot of the slope, lying down, and waiting for the roller to crush you ribcage as a prelude to declaring yourself a victor regardless of what happened in reality.
And i’m not even stating “his opinion is wrong”, I just want to know what he doesn’t like about it. I didn’t even get his opinion. There was nothing in my statement that making it seem like I was going to dismiss his view.
It’s definitely a first draft, but that’s the point of web serialisation. It’s obviously fine not to like something, but I do disagree with your assessment of the author. When you have hundreds of thousands of people all wanting to give you their (conflicting) criticisms it must be overwhelming, so if he doesn’t want to hear it then it’s really not a bad thing.
That said, he interacts a lot with his fanbase and really does not come across as egotistical to me. Rather he’s humble, appreciative and very willing to give advice if asked.
The Tales of the MU is the only web author that I hear bad things about. Everytime I see someone call Wildbow “egoistical”, they never seem to cite their zource. I’m not saying he hasn’t happened, but I have yet to see the example of what they mean.
Did he put up a tweet, a post, something else? Its like when Ghoul King was acting like he was a misogynist and typed nonsense.
Look who just discovered Space Battles lol. Wb isn’t perfect, but he’s one of the most humble authors I’ve seen, and many thousands of people enjoy his stories. Especially his latest work has some of the best and mot nuanced character writing I’ve seen in fiction. Well, nuance maybe isn’t for everyone, but just because the subtleties of a work went over your head doesn’t give you the right to ad hominem the author. Try and behave a bit.
Oh, she has been playing. But she has always been the fool.
Consider what an ant would think of the world of men, Preem Ray, were it suddenly elevated to our august stature. A brilliant panoply of utterly inexplicable nonsense! Would it not coo and giggle at the kaleidoscopic nightmare before it? And would it not poke, and prod, in ways no man or woman ever would, to attempt to grasp its inexplicable complexities?
Consider then, as an addition, that some careless fool made the ant your god.
Venerate the Queen of Worms. And in venerating, entertain her. She sees no other reason for your continued existence.
mien gott! those eyes, those eyes. lo, evil, vile, and haunting. gog agog’s worms have not shown up in my nightmares. nor the clowns- markedly disturbing though they were. nay yet, those yellow, fevered, mocking eyes, that twisted sneer… that scares me.
mark my words here- i am no coward. were i, who would have fought off Nicholas Sepsii the third, known Finnish warlord and very near but not-just-quite conqueror of the freshwater seas? yet he was but a man, wearing the skin of a god. gog agog is a thousand times more sinister. a shell of worms wearing the firey bones of YIS-UN? mercy.
All of Mottom’s actions I suspect are considered “petty squabbles” by the other 6, as even her invasion of Yre didn’t result in a full scale war breaking out. As for Gog’s head, as she can regrow her head, on top of being the fool of the 7, the other 6 care not for any insult against the Queen of Worms, for who cares ever if the fool is kicked (or has their head exploded, twice)?
Are we about to see Gog-Agog lose her temper, I wonder? Solomon David’s words seem to have seriously angered her, even when Mottom’s repeated assaults didn’t.
Or perhaps Gog Agog is not as insane as we are led to believe. Besides, just because they’re insane doesn’t mean that they can’t plan and scheme, look at Batmans The Joker.
Either way, she’s likely to have a major role in this book.
Yeah, I’ve been wondering whether we haven’t fallen into that “Ex Machina” trap of seeing something as human and attributing human failings and capabilities to something that’s more than all the other demiurges clearly not human at all.
It’s a worm-hive-mind-thing. Can that even be a “person”? Can it truly be insane, or is it just alien?
Legit question: All the demiurges are in various states of decay or injury aside from Gog and Solomon. Gog makes sense – she can repair/replace her body as needed. What’s Solomon’s secret, and how did he avoid the ravages of time and battle better than the others? Is it known, or just speculation?
according to abbadon weird breath inner technique of ki rata makes him inmortal and gives him the power of not getting no girls from the girls he pregnants
Jagganoth has his share of scars (see end of book 1 and his clandestine meeting in Incubus’ throne room). I mean, he definitely looks healthy/strong, but not untouched like Solomon.
Wonder if it’s some Pride thing, and if that’s why he places such value on rewarding anyone who can draw blood when fighting him. Oh, just noticed he is “Bearer of the word Diamond” as well.
I went straight to the Hellboy version of the Conqueror Worm story because I have no clue what the original version was and the Hellboy version seemed suitably apocalyptic.
Beware the Worm. For she was here long before any of the other Seven were even inklings in the mind of the multiverse. Fear what she is capable of should she have cause to unleash herself.
Gog-Agog, Our Wyrm Queen,
Likes to Prim, likes to Preen.
She Creates multitude of faces,
Has she graces ?
A Being Pretend, one of countless ends,
Unseen her Arts, Misunderstood her hearts.
Her Courtiers say,
Loves She Most the Chaos of Play.
Riddlers and Fools in Motley Prancing,
Games and Silly Dancing
These Delight her simple Self.
Childlike Godling, Horrific Elf.
These – the whole of her Law.
She with elemental powers to overawe.
Make her Laugh – Gifts She weights of Gems.
Make her Merry – Flings She Jeweled Diadems.
In her land of Play, Gog will Beseech you to stay.
Be Careful ! What will you say ?
Her Retinue ? All Tumblers and Clowns,
who Endeavor to distract from Frowns.
Those who dare to speak of Things Serious and Sad,
Evoke a Child god’s Anger – this makes her Mad !
Sightless Solomon cannot be Playful, cannot be Glad.
His Utter Seriousness Maddens Her Mind.
Charming words he cannot Find,
That All Playful Worlds, All Delights may Burn.
Interference with Play makes Gog’s Innards Churn.
“Be Serious !” – You DARE to Say ?
Ordering INTERRUPTION of my Play ?”
Now commence She to Fume,
Becoming Scourging Worm Blizzard to Consume.
“Righteous Wretches full of Spite
They shall Sate my Appetite.”
Oh How She Now Itches
To Flense all Wrinkled Imperiatrix Bitches.
To Whelm all in a Corrupting Worm Sea.
Gog-Agog Enraged knows not Pity.
“O’ Fools – You Dared. Now you’re Done.
I Tear and Taste your vitals – in Vast Legion.”
All demiurges are fearsome and extrenely powerful. However, a fool’s rage is always something to dread, for when sillyness and joy turn into pure seething rage, whole worlds will be turned to cinders at the fool’s whim. The raging fool has no compassion.
c'mon salami dave, stop breaking tables to show off
It appears that our sweet sorceress may have sowed the seeds of discord
Mother Om? How so?
I would guess that having’s one head exploded repeatedly would not foster feelings of loyalty from one such as the Worm
Also, Solomon’s words may have struck a bit of a nerve with this in mind
Also what happens to her lil gem? like, does it disappear with her head but reappear cuz it’s bound to her or is it kinda resummoned?
I’m mildly amused that Gog appears to be giving the evil eye to Solomon rather than the demiurge that’s exploded her head twice by now
Mottom knows better than the others that Solomon David speaks true. Was it not she who warned that now there is Jagganoth?
Gog cannot truly hear his words, or see the truth. All she can feel is the sickly green burn of Envy.
or maybe her feelings are hurt that dave said they werent friends
It had it’s head blown off, it demands they stop. It’s request ignored it does it happens again, then someone else gives a speech they all stop and listen. I can’t imagine Thrones entertainer Queen enjoys just being ignored.
What are one or two headsplosions between fr… well, enemies? And Solomon’s talk sounds like a threat of destruction on completely different magnitude.
I’ve been wondering about gogs power for a while
Besides the fact she makes new heads lol
Kinda like Jeebs in Men In Black
Having both ‘Pact’ and ‘Worm’ on the same page makes me wonder if Abbadon has read any of Wildbow’s works.
Seeing how Abbadon is also the name of the third Entity in Worm, I’d say it is a possibility.
But Abbadon is also a demon from biblical work, not everything originates from Wildbow. By that logic: posing comes exclusively from JOJO
To be fair, the posing in KSBD actually IS a Jojo reference.
I had the same thought. I look for ward to the next reference.
I’d never even heard of Worm until about a month ago from some fans who were acting like Twilight fangirls about it. I started reading it and my first impression was that it was a load of absolute amateur garbage. The more of it I read, the more I realized that my first impression was correct. I love Worm.
It isn’t for everyone of course, but what problems do you have with it?
At the very least, its better than Whateley Academy
Trying to defend something by saying “at the very least, its better than” is, basically, openly stating that the thing in question is utter irredeemable garbage, but you will still defend it on the general principle of “because”.
That’s not even choosing a sliding slope to defend against a rolling down steamroller – that’s starting in the foot of the slope, lying down, and waiting for the roller to crush you ribcage as a prelude to declaring yourself a victor regardless of what happened in reality.
Its a joke,are you actually angry,or?
And i’m not even stating “his opinion is wrong”, I just want to know what he doesn’t like about it. I didn’t even get his opinion. There was nothing in my statement that making it seem like I was going to dismiss his view.
And did I put something down that made it seem like I was trying to act as a “moral” victor? If so, I screwed up it presenting my statement.
I just wanted to see what he mainly disliked about the serial.

Maybe Gog has just been playing the fool. Maybe.
I wonder what the Goddess in Glass is planning.

Venerate the Queen of Worms. And in venerating, entertain her. She sees no other reason for your continued existence.
The true fool serves chaos devoutly.
Chaos fights order.
Solly is all about order.
ALL COMEDY IS DERIVED FROM FEAR.
You are too much.

The greatest gift of life is
Food for the worms.
Exeunt omnes.
Mottom has attacked Mammon just a year ago. Sha has attacked Goggles twice in one meeting.
I am waiting for the cut-down now.
Mark my words: Gog-Agog will blow up Mottom’s head eventually.

Mottom is her bestie
They hang out on weekends and go shopping and talk about boys.
Interesting. She does seem to approve of Al-YS-UN; it’s not clear why Solomon’s calling-out of Jagganoth would upset her.
For what it’s worth, Gog-Agog and Solomon are on the book cover. Incubus and the rest of the gang aren’t.
It might mean that the worms are doing something of relevance this time around.
Or it might just be for the heck of it.

Apologies if I missed an earlier explanation.
according to abbadon weird breath inner technique of ki rata makes him inmortal and gives him the power of not getting no girls from the girls he pregnants
Could you link that comment please? And is not having girls inherent to the power, or the result of him actively using it?
Result of active usage. He had two daughters once. There will be no more.
Every human being has the thing they treasure above all else. A rare and pitiable commodity are those for whom that thing is pain.
apparently the comment is gone? the Wiki link just bounces off to another comment.
Jagganoth seems healthy, right?
Jagganoth has his share of scars (see end of book 1 and his clandestine meeting in Incubus’ throne room). I mean, he definitely looks healthy/strong, but not untouched like Solomon.
Wonder if it’s some Pride thing, and if that’s why he places such value on rewarding anyone who can draw blood when fighting him. Oh, just noticed he is “Bearer of the word Diamond” as well.
Yes, Solomon is certainly vain. If Jagganoth kept his scars, it’s because he wanted to.
never understimate my foolishness.
– The conqueror Worm
Ah yes. The Malkavian strategy. I know it well.
To quote a gentleman and scholar: “Quick we gotta act cray cray for the straights.”
GNAW YOUR WAY INTO THE HEART OF THE WORLD
I see somewhere in the multiverse, an author has taken the works of E.A.P to heart.
The Wonder Worm does not like being dragged back into reality, so seldom does it happen.
oh neat, the rubble of the table he’s left resembles the Throne itself
I bet the god who designed the table spent months on that.
I went straight to the Hellboy version of the Conqueror Worm story because I have no clue what the original version was and the Hellboy version seemed suitably apocalyptic.

gr0ss
The Conqueror Worm by Edgar Allan Poe (in the hovertext), how terrifyingly apt.
so it’s basically the multiverse’s UN
Will it also have an a ban on memes?

This is SUCH a good page, definitely one of my faves.
