No, out of respect for the daughters lost before his rise to power Solomon has only sons I believe.
Ganurath may have been pointing out that since Solomon’s wife and daughters were “swept aside by a strong man” then he was calling them weak/flawed, even if unintentionally.
Though I am sure Solomon would say yes, they were. And he too at that point because he couldn’t stop it. He has forged himself into Diamond now, strong enough to stop their deaths now, but still unable to change what had already happened.
Now, for real, my point is this is Solomon’s weak spot. It’s not about having daughters in positions of responsibility, it’s about him risking to relive the day when his female relatives died.
It is weakness. For the man who embodies the word Diamond, it is a big old soft spot.
He builds and builds but has left a foundation that is weak. If not for his strength, it would topple. If he were to be distracted for a moment then even a small, sustained push, could knock over his gilded tower.
Bah! It matters not whether he sires sons or daughters, were he to sire a sexless living star of brightest flame it too would be found wanting in his eyes. As many keep saying Solomon is not interested in honestly looking for a worthy heir, he trims the ambition of anyone showing any promise and those who would not be trimmed he destroys.
You know, it wouldn’t surprise me if old Solomon is control-freakish enough that he only allows Y-chromosome sperm to hit any eggs. Ki Rata is ALL about that body control, right?
Pretty sure he does not mean men in the gender sense, would be kind of silly to come so far on the journey towards royalty and still place any particular value on that.
Foolish Last-of-Pen, Favored of the Impure Snow Wolf
Perhaps, but it is an unfortunate and quite loaded use of language given the context. Much of this context is not known to the mighty Salami Dave, but perhaps the message is even stronger for his ignorance of the weight of his words?
Oddly enough, the head is probably the one place on White Chain where a blow this hard won’t cause her to explode. She’s lost the helmet, yes, and the faceplate, but we’ve seen her without both lots of times.
Heroes are always rude knaves of course but of anyone you’d think villains would respect a good monologue. As it happens of course our Solomon is too prideful to see himself as such, thinking himself the exalted rude knave.
It is widely known to be illegal in Solomon’s empire to cut off the monologue of one of higher standing than oneself. There is a lesser known inverse to this law, though, which states that one may not finish a monologue to any another of higher standing than oneself. Solomon was merely enforcing the word of his law.

The secret nineteenth step to enlightenment (not to be confused with the obscured nineteenth step to enlightenment) is to realize that Disney already owns everything in practice, and therefore you have already crossed that unholy power threshold which is the act of being bought by Disney.
It is a most esoteric skill, achieving he pressure wave of a fair explosion enough to knock an Aeon from her feet, within the space of a flick of a finger. It is also most rude; Solomon has proven himself to be not a nice man.
While White Chain may not have drawn blood, she appears to have at least struck a nerve. Solomon’s mental fortitude isn’t as impervious as his physical fortitude, it would seem.
Obviously you have never seen the realm of Creation where those known as ‘Exalted’ exist, a land where ideas can be slain by your hand and forgotten from the world.
Nothing is punching proof. As we know, a sufficiently large punch is indistinguishable from an explosion, and additionally, “as the size of an explosion increases, the number of problems it is incapable of solving approaches zero.”
One can gaze at the mountain-top, long to one day reach it, climb and achieve that pinnacle.
Have you ever seen the bottom of the sea? Can you truly ever reach such a place? Or is the water itself as endless as it is dark and formless? If you ever sunk all the way to the bottom, would you even know it? Would you still be you? Humanity has reached and studied the surface of Luna, but the darkness beneath the waters of our own body remain untested, unplumbed.
I get that everyone wants her to win, but at some point it really just needs to be understood that she’s too weak. Solomon literally just took her full power and was unscathed. Every page has reinforced the fact that he’s too strong. There is no secret solution for her to bear him.
She can’t scratch his body, but she can utterly deconstruct his philosophy and the reputation that he’s built on it, in front of the entire multiverse.
Solomon’s boredom when she tried that earlier shows that this is not the first time someone tried to spit the bitter truth in his face. It will take more than just this to affect him, and it will take affecting him to shake the foundation of his rule, I think
the trick to getting Solomon to return to his prime is not to attack him personally, for he is diamond and diamond is unbreakable.
No, to strike at his heart and move him to action is to threaten all that he has built, that peace and stability for his people that he has kept for ten thousand years, only then will you see his true flames ignite
I dont mean downfall as in “White Chain will suddenly win this,” I mean as in a flaw in SD’s reasoning or MO or personality that will lead to his fall down the line.
SD seems determined to force WC to submit, trying to subjugate or humiliate her instead of using his full power. That’s gotta bite him in the ass eventually, even if it isn’t this fight.
Remember the wisdom of the ‘Tower’. He who builds a mighty tower must always be able to take it apart in his heart. He who builds a tower that he himself cannot unmake, will surely become invincible, but he will also surely fall.
It applies as much to the ruler of Yre as it does to Solomon. His very goal is Royalty, yet his very beliefs take him furthest from it. The inability to accept change, clinging too much to false victory, feeding the illusion of domination and control. He continuously pushes away the one thing he wishes to have.
There is no need to ‘defeat’ such an enemy in the traditional sense, even if I do hope White Chain will impress or even surprise him at least once more.
Not even a booger! That is just air, flicked hard enough to – well, perhaps not kill an angel, but I can’t imagine it is contributing to White Chain’s health.
…Perhaps if he actually had a booger on his finger, that would kill her.
It’s interesting watching the crest of White Chain’s helmet go from convex to concave as her soul pops back in her. Of course now, I’m pretty sure it’s shattered due to flickage. 😛
It’s funny, in all this he’s still done less damage than Alicio did; almost like an oponent who can morph and change is far more dangerous than an untouchable ‘god’.
Surely Solomon hasn’t used much of his power here, but he’s quite litterally playing with fire while using Ki Rata. And we know that any opening could be his downfall.
Using restraint to the point that he is in this fight will only give more opportunities for him to be destroyed by his own hubris, at challenging a greater opponent than he, rather than ending her before she could become greater.
The prophecy! It’s our only hope for WC now. Specifically, this part:
“(S)he will be flanked by a white and a black flame, and…”
The prophecy hasn’t quite come to pass yet, and assuming it’s mostly correct, WC probably needs to be alive, and thus has an extra coating of invisible armor. Could maybe mean grandpa angel is the white flame instead, but the little drawing of it on Jadis shows an angel that strongly resembles WC.
And I do believe that helmet is finally doing her some good rather than just being a flashy headpiece. Looks like most of the angel bits are purple and not bluish gray, so she’s “probably maybe mostly fine.”
Nice show sister but the order of the tyrants is not something so easily destoyed or even shaken. Your efforts would have taken down many other but against a demiurge you need much more training and even higher understanding of this wheel.
A cruel father, to speak so ill of his daughters.
Does he have any?
They may be birthed of concubines, wives and servants, but really. Are they acknowledged as daughters?
And even so, are they as his other children?
Are they even citizens?
Has this been mentioned so far?
No, out of respect for the daughters lost before his rise to power Solomon has only sons I believe.
Ganurath may have been pointing out that since Solomon’s wife and daughters were “swept aside by a strong man” then he was calling them weak/flawed, even if unintentionally.
Though I am sure Solomon would say yes, they were. And he too at that point because he couldn’t stop it. He has forged himself into Diamond now, strong enough to stop their deaths now, but still unable to change what had already happened.
And yet, his children are soldiers and leaders. They are supposed to be strong.
They are all male.
it’s sort of established that his gaggle of sons are sort of pathetic figureheads, and don’t have any true power
Certainly. Unlike his daughters.
Now, for real, my point is this is Solomon’s weak spot. It’s not about having daughters in positions of responsibility, it’s about him risking to relive the day when his female relatives died.
It is weakness. For the man who embodies the word Diamond, it is a big old soft spot.
I wonder if it can be exploited.
He builds and builds but has left a foundation that is weak. If not for his strength, it would topple. If he were to be distracted for a moment then even a small, sustained push, could knock over his gilded tower.
Brittle, innit?
A diamond.
Diamonds are brittle, and can easily be cut by a jeweller’s chisel.
A rock, the third weapon known to man can smash a diamond into dust.
You know, it wouldn’t surprise me if old Solomon is control-freakish enough that he only allows Y-chromosome sperm to hit any eggs. Ki Rata is ALL about that body control, right?
I’m pretty sure that was actually established at some point.
It has been said that he is incapable of siring a daughter for his breath is too warsome & struck with dung
I mean… you can get daughters from y chromosome sperm. I doubt many of them would let on, though, in those circumstances.
Pretty sure he does not mean men in the gender sense, would be kind of silly to come so far on the journey towards royalty and still place any particular value on that.
Perhaps, but it is an unfortunate and quite loaded use of language given the context. Much of this context is not known to the mighty Salami Dave, but perhaps the message is even stronger for his ignorance of the weight of his words?
David Dimmadome can’t help it people are ignorant to the duality of man (the word).
Yeah, that’s going to leave a mark.
She’s gonna lose that little helmet crest, I think.
Maybe it’s time for us to say… Goodbye To Halos? : )
Oddly enough, the head is probably the one place on White Chain where a blow this hard won’t cause her to explode. She’s lost the helmet, yes, and the faceplate, but we’ve seen her without both lots of times.
The folly and the fall – but whose is whose?
Geez Solomon she didn’t cut you off when you were monologuing have some respect
Heroes are always rude knaves of course but of anyone you’d think villains would respect a good monologue. As it happens of course our Solomon is too prideful to see himself as such, thinking himself the exalted rude knave.
Villains are notoriously hypocritical.
Respectful? Perhaps not.
Impeccable comedic timing. Absolutely.
“I’ve become stronger than I’ve ever bee- WHAM!”
It only goes to show, one should be careful what one says.
It is widely known to be illegal in Solomon’s empire to cut off the monologue of one of higher standing than oneself. There is a lesser known inverse to this law, though, which states that one may not finish a monologue to any another of higher standing than oneself. Solomon was merely enforcing the word of his law.
At long last… The Fuckening.

“The Booger Herd ‘Round The Wheel” -title of WHite Chain’s biography, of which I am apparently now writing
How does one write the biography of a creature that has existed since the dawn of time and regularly gets its memories wiped by reincarnation?
Step 1. Be a creature from very near the dawn of time yourself
Step 2. Spend a lot of time in the void
Step 3. Don’t get killed
Nooooooo Whitechain :c
Worry not. She shall become more powerful than he can possibly imagine.
Maybe someday. If she’s bought by Disney.
The secret nineteenth step to enlightenment (not to be confused with the obscured nineteenth step to enlightenment) is to realize that Disney already owns everything in practice, and therefore you have already crossed that unholy power threshold which is the act of being bought by Disney.
ooooof the cringe 😅💦
dude, remote forehead flick is such an advanced technique
It is a most esoteric skill, achieving he pressure wave of a fair explosion enough to knock an Aeon from her feet, within the space of a flick of a finger. It is also most rude; Solomon has proven himself to be not a nice man.
Boom, headshot
rip
While White Chain may not have drawn blood, she appears to have at least struck a nerve. Solomon’s mental fortitude isn’t as impervious as his physical fortitude, it would seem.
Awesome perspective on the last panel.
Obviously you have never seen the realm of Creation where those known as ‘Exalted’ exist, a land where ideas can be slain by your hand and forgotten from the world.
Well that comment posted to the entirely wrong one…
White Chain shall never break.
White Chain is now an idea.
Ideas are punching-proof.
Nothing is punching proof. As we know, a sufficiently large punch is indistinguishable from an explosion, and additionally, “as the size of an explosion increases, the number of problems it is incapable of solving approaches zero.”
This is the BLAST Corollary to the well established More Dakka Theorem.
(Scholarly pipe is produced and fondled.)
Verily.
Fortunately, ideas live inside the heads of people, and those are eminently punchable.
Falsehoods dwell in the heads of people.
The Truth is beyond such a feeble container.
The funny thing? This isn’t her body.
Or, as would be said of Juggernaut Star: Woe be he who mistakes the rider for the steed. Perhaps, just maybe, White Chain picked up a trick.
I am willing to bet that all this will accomplish, will be revealing her face, White Chain might even keep the change!
“As a soon-to-be-broken man once said, ‘Either you’re perfect or you’re not me.'”
“You think you’re being CUTE?!?”
“Bitch, I’m adorable.”
“The mountain laughs at the ocean for its pitful waves. Truly, they feebly splash against its bulk again and again with no results.
But all mountains topple, all boulders get turned to dust, whilst the ever-changing ocean is the only thing to ever keeps its ever-changing-form.”

I suppose you’d have to ask James Cameron.
He’s been to the deepest point on the sea floor.
Some say the only problem is that he came back to make more movies.
His name is James (James) Cameron
The bravest pioneer
No budget too steep, no sea too deep
Who’s that? It’s him, James Cameron
Lies, probably.
Hey, can you deny a body of water a little self-aggrandizement every once in a while? The other guy started it, this time!
Well, I doubt WC’s out of the fight yet, but it looks like SD is determined to cherrytap her to prove a point or something. That may be his downfall.
I get that everyone wants her to win, but at some point it really just needs to be understood that she’s too weak. Solomon literally just took her full power and was unscathed. Every page has reinforced the fact that he’s too strong. There is no secret solution for her to bear him.

Who will care about what he thinks when his cowardice is laid as bare as his abs?

Solomon can flick a booger hard enough to kill an angel.
I wonder if flickage is covered by her insurance?

It’s funny, in all this he’s still done less damage than Alicio did; almost like an oponent who can morph and change is far more dangerous than an untouchable ‘god’.
