Allison could certainly teleport herself and Cio away, but that would mean leaving White Chain and rest of her team behind so she’s staying put. What I don’t understand is why Solomon would bother to lock her in a bare cell that she could escape from at any moment. Not very diplomatic.
Probably for the same reason you already stated, she’s not going to leave the others behind, and she’d likely stay for White Chain as well.
It’s also possible that Solomon didn’t have any better places* available besides a jail that probably doesn’t normally see anything worse than being used as a drunk tank and he wanted to keep her close, so the palace wasn’t an option.
*Though given the number of people around the place, I’d probably expect some housing for contestants and some hotels/motels for the tourists and staff rooms.
42 Fragments the Universe Beyond All Reintegration
Re devils always able to get back to the void: I misremembered. Abbadon’s statement was that only bound devils can enter the material world; unbound ones are stuck in the void. Nothing about going the other way.
On devils entering the void: We don’t know if they can just teleport/phase back into the void like angels can. Cio seemed to early on, though she used her card as a homing beacon link. Even if they could, it’s not going to help their situation, plus Cio has her friendship and loyalty, while Princess has their vow (to stick with Allison until they get their ebon name back, somehow) as a reason.
I am so happy to have stumbled upon this amazing tale. Such a brilliantly woven world. I can’t help but thoroughly enjoy the way myth and legend so beutifully intertwine. I’ve loved mythology and ancient religions since I was a tike and with that knowledge are drawn to the mythical tales of the gods of this universe. I can’t help but draw parallels between our hero’s journey and those of the children of Yisun. Allison is like an avatar of Prim, the key being the iron nail she carries, Zoss is like an avatar of Hasan, her mentor, her lord and father, we have 82 White Chain as Het the watchman, and I want to say either Maya or Cio are Aesma perhaps both. Jagganoth looks like and embodies the qualities of the red eyed king, Aesmas love. Perhaps enternity trickles down from the first divergence, the cut that split yisun, and all the tales resulting, go on for infinity, destined to repeat, the wheel is also a spiral.
Interesting musings The One. So our happy (well, erstwhile so) band of friends can be seen at least in part, as allegory for the gods and their stories; there are certainly qualities and echoes/parallels there.
I wanted to thank you for this excellent read!! I definitely loved every little bit of it. I have you bookmarked your site to check out the new stuff you post.
Thanks for sharing this information. I really like your blog post very much. You have really shared a informative and interesting blog post with people..
All things considered this would not be a bad way to go. Standing proud in spirit even if the headsman forces you to knees beside your beloved knowing that you did everything you could.

He’s doing his pride thing again. He doesn’t believe Allison is anybody special, so she gets the dungeon, not house arrest up at the palace.
Can Cio and Princess escape back to the void by themselves? Is that something devils can do? I seem to remember a note to that effect somewhere.

On Solomon’s pride: Yea probably.

He offered them a meeting first, I guess he took White Chains refusal as a no from all parties.

Some Gogs are made of morning worms, some Gogs are made of worms that desperately need coffee to start their day.
