King of Swords 1-9
Chapter: 1
Imperishable and immortal, the secret fire of God called YISUN is like a perfect, gleaming jewel, with no flaws. YISUN has, had, and will have no equal – yet every moment of their existence, YISUN yearned for one.
-Psalms (Amkrator Vesh translation, circa 500 SC)

Best comment in the multiverse, confirmed.
The look on that centurion’s face…
He’s either thinking about the proverbial ass-whooping he’s about to get or ‘why the fuck did you make me overwork these men when you can apparently just build the whole damn thing yourself?’
“Look on my beef, ye mighty, and despair.”
AI YAI YAI YAII
AWAKEN MY MASTERS
Strength is finite
this is axiomatic
I have built an empire to outlive me by ten thousand years or more. Now pardon me while I lift a rock that’s too heavy for my subjects.
Ha! Our boy Solomon kinda undercut his point there didn’t he?
It’s a fairly common fault. This form is most traditionally named Patriarchy; the snare for matriarchs is similar, but not identical.
Behold the Father of his People. Wise. Mighty. Benevolent. How glorious the patriarch. He loves his children, in providing for them, and protecting them from dangers. His children love him, and seek to be worthy of his attentions.
He hates his children, for their unworthiness. He must provide for them, and protect them from dangers, lest they harm themselves. If only they could be content! And if only they would stop needing his protection!
His children hate him, for their father demands a worthiness from them that can only be attained if they expose themselves to harm, and punish them should they seek that exposure. If only he could see they can bear harm! If only he could be content with them as they are, not as who he wishes them to be!
Slowly the pressure mounts, as the Patriarchy ages. From time to time it is relieved by eruptions- fits of rage from father and child, words said in haste that cannot be unsaid, clashes both of word and of bloody deed. And in time, as the old patriarch fades into senile senescence, and the children have children of their own, the cycle repeats again.
Imagine, then, what must happen when the Patriarch is set outside the cycle. An immortal god-king of the Seven Part World. Against whom no rebellion is possible, and yet who commands his children rebel if they seek to become worthy. Who loves his children. And punishes them brutally for trying too hard to gain his favor.
What strange and terrible pressures lurk beneath the shining surface.
Very much. Although if we’re being charitable it occurs to me he may not micromanage as much as make a point about how no amount of physical labor is impressive to him so they can stop trying.
Hmm. I hope this ark is partially about Solomon thinking he needs to build an heir to replace his role in the empire, when what he really needs to do is build an empire that can function without a superpowered ruler.
Am I the only one who hears Solomon’s voice as Laurence Fishburne?
You and me both. I keep expecting him to ask Zaid to choose between the red and blue pills
Show-off…
Solomon David
Bearer of the word Bara
I guess you could say YISUN had, has and will have only one flaw and that is that YISUN has no flaws. But that is a paradox and YISUN could not, would not and had not existed otherwise.
He Who Walks The Path of the Swole
Love the yin/yang that seems to be forming at his feet.
This is the ultimate character intro buildup
Sure he’s strong and all, but if he’s doing that only with physical might, the man has some mad balancing skills. This would be like carrying a basketball using only one of your fingers while walking up a ramp.
And yet spin the ball and gyroscopic forces make it much easier to accomplish
I hate to be that guy, but abaddon also has to deal with composition and what not, but if you really want ab explanation, it must be magic powers or something, i mean he is just holding the the rock from one of the borders, not even in the center so it would be phisically impossible yeah.
I fear for the officer who pushed his men past what Solomon David specified.
This should be on a T-shirt with the slogan “Do you even lift?” It’d sell a million.
This needs to happen. Abaddon, make it happen. I need this in my life.
So he isn’t the bearer of the word MANLY? Oh well.
I’m glad to see that he isn’t carrying the stone with one finger. He’s totally strong enough to do it, sure, but getting the balance right would be annoying and a bit reckless. A proper one handed lift of that stone block is far more responsible.
Have you ever lifted a stone block so hard that the sled it was on just completely vanished?
He lifted it while standing on one leg and used the other to kick the sled so hard it turned back into a tree in the woods.
have you considered the sled is out of frame
Oh year, I guessed his Divine Word correctly. Grandpa now feels deep satisfaction.
By the way, in a realm I belong to they call such thing “Ilyich’s Log”. Probably in Celestial Empire they have it as “Solomon’s Block”, or will have at some instance.
This Steven Universe crossover is weird as shit.
*CHIRPS in fear and awe*
If he doesn’t do or say something super manly at least every hour, Solomon starts to feel he’s slacking off.
[Pillar Men Theme Intensifies]
Thus the beginning reveals itself and unraveler of true power.
