King of Swords 1-7
Chapter: 1
“The Ruling King has no equal. He is at the pinnacle of power of all men, servants, angels, and devils alike. Only the gods could rival him, if they weren’t rotting, the bastards. And only a man who’s power reaches that far up can cast a shadow that large.”
– Hurim Thrymgard, Demiurge of the First Conquest
I figure the arena is being built from scratch because the contestants will use DBZ levels of power. After every tournament, they need a new one…
Arena building is also a good public works project. Keeps a legion of builders employed.
Every time I’m looking at the page thinking of what comment to make, I get distracted by Salami David’s beautiful, handsome profile.
And that beard.
I might be just nitpicking, but it sounds kind of weird to me when SD refers to an empire spaning thousands of universes as “this land”…
Strife, you pretenders and warlocks, strife, you tyrants and fools. Ever upwards, towards the arrogant divinity of god! True Royalty possessed only one true demesne: the one above everyone else.
“Where I come from, we elect our rulers.”
“Oh? Tell me about your elected ruler, what’s he like?”
“…never mind.”
“Well, he doesn’t have a beard-”
“No beard and yet you elected him?”
“Well-”
“I’ve heard enough. Speak no further of this ruler.”
So Davy is basically just playing real life minecraft and he wants someone to take over his save cause he got bored with it, but it also holds sentimental value to him.
I am intrigued by Solly-D’s characterization in this page, presented as a seemingly contemplative, even wise ruler. I would almost find it refreshing if I wasn’t immediately made suspicious of him because of it.

Empire, Land, Law, Collosseum: Dictates of tradition are rarely ever peaceful and we may soon fear for the would-have-been protagonist.
So, we’ve seen a lot of Solomon’s seemingly righteous side, when do we see the ugly one?
Jeez get with the program kid
In Xanadu did Solomon David
A stately Thunderdome decree
Hmm, so Solomon David is as tired of being an immortal tyrant as Mottom. And Mottom wanted Allison to succeed her while Solomon David is also looking for an heir (and seems to expect that Zaid *might* become that heir eventually).
And Mammon is so old, he’s senile and has forgotten why he became a Demiurge in the first place. And he even begged Allison to kill him at one point. Would she have inherited the wealth of the Vault of Yre if she had?
And Voss is also seeking an heir and redeemer in Allison.
I sense a recurring theme here.
Who’s Voss?
Attaining royalty sounds like a great idea till you realize you need to sit on a throne all the time.
Truly, you’re better off being a noodle vendor.
Hmmmm. I assumed he was preparing to die, and that the tournament was for his key, at least in theory. I hadn’t considered the possibility of a deeper, ascetic pursuit.
These lords of creation sure do love going on about how they’re forced to this thing or that; it’s almost like they don’t have a seventh of the voice of God at their disposal.
Another note, speaking of those along the path of True Royalty: one wonders if the Red God can qualify for the thunderdome.
I think part of the problem, as Solomon David acutely observes, is that while you may have a seventh of God’s voice – so do your opponents. And Solomon is actually ruling by more than brute power and fiat – it’s clear he aspires to be the pinnacle of enlightened leadership.
Destroy the Great Enemy, who is called I.
Typo in the blurb there. The possessive form of “who” is “whose”, not “who’s”. “Who’s” is the contraction of the phrase “who is”.
It seems to me the king doth protest too much.
There is no way out unless you really want out. Survival instinct is a b*tch though. Especially when you’re 5,786 years old. He’s telling himself a lie that he’ll ultimately survive seceding the throne (and by extension, his power) in the ensuing conflict and deep down he knows this. But denies it. So in short, he wants out (like other demiurges), but doesnt want to die (or rather, can’t fathom facilitating events which would result in their own demise), so he persists, deludedly. Under the pretense of “finding one worthy” and wrecking the multiverse in the process. Almost seems like a mortal shouldn’t rule. But what do I know.
Theory: Zaid is the precursor of the being that will become Zoss. There have been “n” iterations of this cycle, which Zoss tests each and every time for the true path to Royalty.

It seems one can desire to not be a Ruling King forever. He’s looking for a Sharmat, all of his very own.
CAn Al-Yis-Un use the Key to open her Tower and obliterate all the False Givers, I wonder?
Wait. Is Solomon David going to have Zaid trained so that he might have a shot at winning this contest?
Shiiiiit yeah.
Somehow, ta Conquerin’ King’s recall me of Vladok.
Thanks for taking the time to discuss that, I feel strongly about this and so really like getting to know more on this kind of field. Do you mind updating your blog post with additional insight? It should be really useful for all of us.
This is very educational content and written well for a change. It’s nice to see that some people still understand how to write a quality post.!
