I don’t remember where I read it, but the author stated that the thing that Jadis wants most is to die. Which makes me wonder about her telling Allison “What I want, as far as you could apply that term to me, is for you to choose breakfast”. Jadis presumably knows when she herself dies (and is frustrated at how long it has been in coming), so I am guessing that’s about to happen in close proximity to Allison making that choice.

Jadis’ death-wish was stated by Abbadon on Tumblr.
Jadis knows how and when she will die, but Zoss presumably does not. And it’s Zoss who keeps delaying that death by resetting time. If Jadis still wants to die, then I think she wants Allison to somehow avoid the next reset. Whether that means that Allison gives up heroing, or whether she’s supposed to hero up is unclear.

Putting it in the comments so future people can see my wisdom: the guy in the window is Zaid wearing Cat Master’s mask. Remember Cat Master? he’s back, in Zaid form. OK bye
I don’t think that’s Zaid, and considering it wouldn’t make much sense to introduce an important character at this stage, I think this person is one of many would-be rescuers/thieves/assassins who have attempted to breach the temple during Allison’s extended holiday. Either that, or this could be (one of) Allison’s successor(s)…
OK, so we’ve seen normal Allison and buff-Allison and skinny-Allison. I’m predicting that next we’re gonna see fat-Allison after she spent 6 months lazying about just eating.
Due to reaching OMISCIENCE, Jadis has to lie.
Alison is CHILLING. though she is not eating, but she’s chilling.
Jadis still tells her to not fight.
Why?
pretty unlkely since the author twittered something about believeing or stuff
but i like my theory (, a fan theory)
have a good one

Here’s an interesting meta-observation – All of these anhedonic pages were put out almost as quickly as possible. Abaddon could have not done that, and just drip-fed each page one at a time, but instead chose to drop all the pages at once, so that the sequence of updates could end on Alison choosing, presumably, to eat.
And to me, this feels like a choice that is an inherent rebuke of Jadis’s viewpoint, *even though she is omniscient and correct* – that, even if your path is fated to a worthless death, that you should choose to fight it every step of the way anyway.
Or maybe I’m wrong and we’ll just see Alison choke to death on an orange later this week.
I got a strong feeling this might be Zoss. I dunno why, but I feel like the perfect person to help Allison right now is a young version of the King of Kings himself.

Well, zoss did die. It’s just that dying dosnt mean much to a dude of his power.

Reverse psychology, always works.
I wonder who could be inside of those chromatically familiar swords that our handsome Probably Zaid is carrying on his back.

Imagine crying to reenact a future you foresaw yourself issuing a futile plea and crying.

I know this is most likely wrong,
BUT hear me out

I find that I am profoundly pleased that Alison chose breakfast.
I’m going to be really disappointed if Zaid ends up being the true hero.
He hopefully will be *a* hero, I suspect Ally will always be the main character.
This whole sequence made me feel very seen and also very hungry.
Lift the hand, lift the wheel Alison.
Allison never left the machine, and everything so far is just a simulation
Yes, if you trust the cover where Allison is still one eyed and amputated and the short haircut.
I’m calling it here: when we see Allison next she’ll be fat. Abaddon won’t be satisfied until we’ve seen every possible version of Allison.
Whelp this seems to kill the mind illusion theory if not definitively, wondering if I should put my money on time shenanigans next…
