The burden of your pain is shared, friend!
A horde of the brigands swept through our excavation site less than a fortnight ago and cleared the entire place out; only those of us closest to the aarvyle mounts we had on standby managed to make it out with our lives, I fear. Pray for me as I retreat to Throne to inform our sponsors of what has transpired.
Ngl the shot of the straight-edged perfect wall to the uneven, jagged machine on the opposite side is *hella* strong visual symbolism, especially with the characters walking to the latter.
IDK why everyone thinks it’s so hard to perceive the shape of existence, to see and perceive all of space time like it’s a singular object comprehensible to the human mind.
I do it all the time and it has yet to incapacitate me with how much of a mentally twisted wretch I’ve become.
I’m being quiet for a bit? you can BET I am staring into the cosmos.
So… when Jadis came of age, she cast off all emotion, tenderness and fragility? That must have been around the time she killed her father then. All for this great project. I guess she kinda wishes she’d done things differently now.
Still not convinced this is real though.
It is not exactly God in the machine. The word machina is older than the modern understanding of machine. It originally meant a scaffolding or other construction, like a crane. In ancient greek drama when a god interfeared with the events in order to solve a humanly unsolvable problem, the actor who played said god was often lifted in from above the stage. Therefore the god arrived from/by (=ex) the machine (albeit a very simlple one). I get though waht you mean.
“Sole survivor of this project” – Jadis is a solipsist: she now thinks that the whole world is in her mind because everyone else in the universe died.
She says she saves Allison because that’s what she does: in her mind, she thinks that she runs the universe by thinking it, and all other beings are parts of her mind.
I love how two of my favorite, long running webcomics, this and Gunnerkrigg Court, have both suddenly introduced a reality-predicting machine in their most recent pages. A funny coincidence:) although here it seems to be more of a done deed than just speculation.
In “Breaker of Infinites,” the narrative unfolds intriguing layers, inviting readers deeper into its world. Just like mastering Snow Rider 3D requires skill and precision, delving into each chapter calls for attention. With each turn of the page, the story captivates, offering a thrilling adventure. Don’t miss the chance to experience both worlds—one in literature and the other in an exhilarating game.
Hail the Omnissiah
I’m super happy I get to hear the frozen lady’s own backstory in her own words.
Gods I hope the answer isn’t 42
No survivors, GBH
charged, discharged, quick to pace
the beating D is bombed by hate

I love Alison’s totally done expression. By now she knows what she’s in for when a demiurge invites her into their home.
i have glimpsed the heart of things and I must say that YSUN is not a very good liar at all!
aha, wait. I get it.
“I was told there would be waffles.”

Jadis is fascinating.

There are hundreds of io games to play with friends.
The way Allison’s face is drawn in panel 2 reminds me of Tetsuo for some reason, and I wonder if it’s an intentional reference.
It’s a literal deus ex machina. God in the machine. How has nobody said this yet? If it’s the name of the machine I get five schrute bucks.

[What has our name been all this time?]
What has our name been all this time?
the answer better not be 42!
Very beautiful paneling, reminds me of elfquest

And you need to pedal really hard to get it going.

I’m a major admirer of the comic, but is comprehensible a genuine word? It was always something I could understand.
This is a miracle for you! This is the most extraordinary article I have ever read. This has made my day significantly better today.
