I think they still have a chance against Jagganoth. The binding’s still active, right? They just need to strike him in the weak spot!
It’ll be worth seeing what this damage is like on White Chain, and how they recover from it. Especially seeing as there has never been an Angel like them before. Hopefully she’s still conscious like Cio is.
And hopefully the others who swam away before this whole fight began are safe as well. Jagganoth appears to practice a very complete form of Collateral Damage.
I fear that in the next page, they find White Chain lying on the shore, less one eye and one arm, having died the true death – the price of having achieved humanity even for a few moments.
While we’re on the subject, how long has it been since White Chain’s fight with Solomon? Ten minutes?
It can’t have been more than an hour, absolute tops, you’re right there. But there is the fact that not even the other Angel (I forgot his name) knew what White Chain had actually become. So perhaps she’s more resilient than her form infers.
Spoilers ahead: you have been warned.
We do have confirmation from Abbadon that White Chain survives (or is at least already reincarnated) after the end of the comics, she goes on to lead the surviving Rayubians in a war against Jagganoth’s remaining forces.
Double dang.
Absolutely stunning.
hmm, an occurrence of events, yet not the end
What if big bad Jag triumph card can be only played once? Maybe he can’t do it anymore where he burnt out his power for that 80000 slash combo or he got hit by that remaining spear thrown at him and we will see now Jag corpse burning out. Glad to see Cio alive and at least for her she should regenerate these injuries later, we know Allisson won’t, now we just need WC to show up.
Oh dear. I … I fear for my sister.
Cio’s lost eye switching sides there for a second, tho.
I thought so too at first, but a closer look at the silhouette revealed it was consistent. She is facing left rather than directly toward Allison.
I don’t see any swords here, perhaps it was an oversight. Please rectify this situation, or I shall scream
Just think of their presence as a metaphorical one and the situation shall rectify itself.
Not one of Cio’s better days, but I’m glad to see she survived.
This is the exact same composition as Felicia leaving the vault. Curious
It would make sense for Cio to also be missing her arm as they were the same entity when they got cut.
You know, after thinking about it I bet most if not all the demiurges actually survived this. The trio was in a newly formed… uhh form… and likely would still be getting used to their new powers and abilities. It would make sense for them to not know how to withstand the type of attack jag hit them with, or how to teleport like the rest of the demiurges can do at will.
The rest of the gods, however, will likely have had some sort of preset ‘ah crap’ ability to let them escape certain death. Be it insta-port abilities or insane strong armor I dont see them NOT having something.
The real question mark, however, is Jadis. She was locked in a prison of some sort after seeing the true shape of the universe. This is a theory, but what if that prison actually wasnt meant to save her, but everyone else? She is supposedly the strongest sorcerer in the universe, amd on the cover she is obviously NOT in her prison anymore. Maybe Jags big attack broke that prison, and freed her? Or she expanded it to everyone allowing them to survive while at the same time freeing herself. Either way, I could see that being the saving grace allowing them to survive and continue to fight. As Jag said, he had always won that fight in every other timeline but with Allison obviously surviving the battle is a phyrric victory as without her key his victory isnt ensured.
But I have talked enough, time to down a point or twelve in honor of the bloodbath!
Well, time is Jag’s enemy, and the timeline is Jadis’ prison… perhaps he swung his sword hard enough to damage time itself?
I wonder… did the Demiurges loose an arm and an eye as well? They were all holding that spear. Or did Aspected Chaos shield them? And most importantly, did they get to throw that spear before Jaggy dis-armed them?
I’m leaning towards no spear throw, considering Allison was making a futile spear-throwing motion as her arm came off last page. No point in that if they already did it.

CIO!!!!!!!
Cio saving Alice while missing a limb.
Badass.
Best! Girl! Best! Girl! Best! Girl!
Amazing!
Poor Cio. She’s come on this journey from terrified of having any power, to accepting a bit of power, to enjoying a share in much power. Then that power was actually used and now everything’s gone to shit. That’s going to set her therapy right back.
So uh,,, bad time for White Chain to get a human body….huh?
They lost. Everyone’s really cut up about it.
“Our very strength invites challenge. Challenge incites conflict. And conflict… breeds catastrophe.”
It’s back!
