I saw a tree of cherries red,
Where children played games and made feast.
I climbed and joined, but though I tried,
I could not lose a single round.
The taste of the fruits did not comfort me.
I came down and made an apology;
The weeping mothers did not hear a word.
So I resumed my journey and strapped my sword.
