Can Maya win this fight? She can cut an angel in half with one serious attack.
Davy is unable to destroy a damaged angel shell using his two point blow, through White Chain is a master of an internal style while Juggernaut uses an external one which I think increases White Chain’s defence.
My take is that Maya has just dumped all her stat points into attack and might take Incubus by surprise and decapitate him. Or Maybe they’ll just talk for a few panels, who knows?
42 Fragments the Universe Beyond All Reintegration
Maya has no chance against Incubus in the same sense that White Chain had no chance against Solomon. This story has a running theme of transcending limitations.
Time will tell the outcome of that fight. But whatever form it takes, I expect Maya to triumph, even if Incubus lives, even if Maya dies.
Except that White really did have no chance. As Gog-Agog pointed out, white chain didn’t really win but won anyway. White chain needed to draw blood to win and she didn’t. However the audience found her performance grand enough that they basically treated her like she won which put pressure on solomon to bend to the will of the masses to just give her the win.
Ending Incubus is not the great success that it sounds like it would be. She has been just as stuck in her revenge as Incubus has been stuck in his filth. Defeat the grand enemy I.
it has not been unknown for non key wielders to kill demiurges and steal their power, as it was the case of how Solomon obtained his key. Ki-Rata was is, of course, the most devastating martial arts known to man, but I wouldn’t put it that much over Maya’s Cutting prowess which I believe surpass Incubus’.
Incubus however has the power of the key, which we still don’t know how he would and could employ
Also, SD killed his Demiurge early in the Great War. Incubus is one of the survivors of that War. Presumably he’s a lot more powerful than that guy SD got his first key from.
Meti never wielded a Key. Also, she wanted to die that way, and Maya knew it. Apparently she never accepted Meti for the cynical b*tch she was. (She’s like a female, super-powerful Socrates – living in a barrel and wanting her corpse to be eaten by dogs.)
OverlySarcasticProductions just did a vid on who you mean, but I think you’re thinking or that contrarian who lived to over 100.
Alexander the pretty all right went to him to learn saying, ‘do you know me?’, and he responds, ‘yes, you’re blocking my sun. Move.’
The audacity amused him, apparently.
It’s like the beginning of a chess game. First make space for the game. Then you set up all your pieces. Then the board explodes. Well, it’s how we played chess in my household at least.
”Then let the earth be drunken with our blood:
I’ll kill my horse, because I will not fly.
Why stand we like soft-hearted women here,
Wailing our losses, whiles the foe doth rage;
And look upon, as if the tragedy
Were play’d in jest by counterfeiting actors?
Here on my knee I vow to God above,
I’ll never pause again, never stand still,
Till either death hath closed these eyes of mine
Or fortune given me measure of revenge.”
I wonder. The Demiurges all well know how Incubus stole his power and throne (through trickery and betrayal most surely) and Definitely known from whom! Does their disdain from Incubus insinuate respect for it’s previous wielder? How will they react when they see Old Aunty Maya again 😮
They are quite common. He is a “Kind one” One of the many races in one of the 4 categories of beings crafted by the gods: The servants. We have seen them before in the background of many many pages.
Mammon killed his family, friends and clan, not his entire species.
That second panel is the stuff of nightmares. Does Incubus travel through mud or was he forming himself from it? Because there’s something unfinished looking about what’s rising out. D:
Which face? The B side of a two faced one? A hidden plan? “Show your face” as in “Play your hand”?
Face it, all we have here is a seven count of survivors, being “victorious” only by happenstance, who are bored out of their gourds. ALL of them. There’s no reason for any of them to keep going. Finally the age of gray drab blah living is over and now they finally get to live in interesting times again.
STOP! I CAN ONLY GET SO HYPED!

I think Maya has no chance against Incubus, if Incubus is ready for her. And she knows it; recall her musings about seeking honourable death.
But if Incubus were massivley distracted by a violent argument inside Allison’s mind, then maybe…

Murder the gods, and topple their thrones.

Maya didn’t cut an angel in half, she cut a manifestation. Remember that it was not Juggernaut Star’s true body, but something else.
Idk, Juggernaut Star is jank.
They were both taught by the last key wielder and one of them killed her. The key apparently doesn’t factor into direct combat ability for them.

Au Vam ’twas, had star in thums brow afore Maya thinks us. Nae explicit seen, yet otherhand thums quotings call demiurges kin.
Aunty! At last! We missed you :3
Love Incubus’s intro, that’s really something. As well as his meta-joke about “too soon”. We really didn’t expect a war that early, did we?
Really Incubus? You travel by mud pit instead of astride the lightning? This is why the other Demiurges don’t like you.
look, if he had known Jagganoth was attacking today, he’d have scheduled his spa day later in the week.
I would imagine this is part of the reason he’s held in such low regard by the rest.
Get his ass.
The hair clip came off. It is getting serious now.

ah yes. the Tavish Finnegan DeGroot Strategem. practitioners of it are few and far between, what with the precision required to execute it perfectly.
One of the few chess strategies that works more effectively if you’re drunk and have one-eyed. Definitely makes it more entertaining.
Henry VI Part III, Act II, Scene 3
Warwick :
”Then let the earth be drunken with our blood:
I’ll kill my horse, because I will not fly.
Why stand we like soft-hearted women here,
Wailing our losses, whiles the foe doth rage;
And look upon, as if the tragedy

Till either death hath closed these eyes of mine
Or fortune given me measure of revenge.”

Auntie Maya time?
She gonna introduce Incubus to the pavement?
We got your front row seats for the Apocalypse right here! A waitress will be by in just a moment to take your order.
Looks like that mud’s doing wonders for his skin
Wait, I’m sorry, what is another member of Mammon’s species here?
What the FUCK?
They are quite common. He is a “Kind one” One of the many races in one of the 4 categories of beings crafted by the gods: The servants. We have seen them before in the background of many many pages.
Mammon killed his family, friends and clan, not his entire species.
I’ll take the moment to not that there is more sword on that hilt than there was previously.
Incubus all:
>Never Trust Anyone
>Especially Yourself
“What is the fool doing?! Its too soon! He wasn’t supposed to attack for another two books!”
“What do you mean this is the final book?!”
“Always has been”
ok real talk, is Zaid even remotely capable? did they teach him anything or was he just kept?
You know Maya means business when she abandons her noodles
We still haven’t seen Jagg’s and Jadis’s title cards
Maya’s hair needs a big “FLOOF” FX
Looks like Maya’s story is nearing its resolution. I wonder if she’s got time for a haircut before she goes off to do something foolish?
It’s onnn
Incubus is going to use his sword like Strider Hiryu does. That will be delightful to watch, at least until Maya cuts him down.
That second panel is the stuff of nightmares. Does Incubus travel through mud or was he forming himself from it? Because there’s something unfinished looking about what’s rising out. D:
You know, his head is clearly uncovered in the second panel, but by the third he’s wearing a hood…
