Many of my brothers have strayed from their eternal slumber to record their thoughts upon this mortal space. Truly Machine Concept and Icy Glaive deserve our utmost honor to record the authors of these temporary musings.
As for my own resurrections, I can only blame a temporary bout of insanity.
I was so hoping that we wouldn’t go the exploited, abused woman route with Nadia. I should have known that it would though, the story starts with Alice being felt up by an insensitive Zaid”Bad Touch”.
82 White Chain Born in Emptiness Returns to Subdue Evil, one of two known female angles is in an extremely contentious relationship with male authority figures.
The second known female angel 23 Liminal Blossom Punctures the Heart of the Unrepentant Deliciously, is beaten to death by afore mentioned male authority figures for her noncompliance.
Ciocie “Cio” Cioelle Estrella Von Maximus the Third was a veritable slave to a pimp/whore-monger,while her job didn’t involve lying down its still a bad atmosphere. She has Crimson Devil Ex-boyfriend Dhuutholmel that she seems not be on the best of terms with; however Devils being Devils they could actually be getting along just fine. A few line uttered by Cio indicates that she’s been through some bad time. And she was an ebon ,meaning that she was disempowered all the way down to blue.
Every main female character has a horrible relationship/interaction with men as a an aspect of their characters.
Please don’t let this be the Maleficent movie and have women who are powerful and possibly evil entirely by their own will and make them into symbolic and perhaps actual abuse/rape victims who turned evil by finding the power to overcome their victimizers.
Let’s have the bad gals, just be bad gals.
On the good ups, I’m glad that Nadia seems to actually be trying to bond with Alice. It’s lonely at the top and I completely buy Nadia just wanting somebody to hang out with.
As a female reader, I’m enjoying the story as it is and I personally think Abbadon does a hell of a lot better with female characters than many other male writers. However, this is a good point, and I do think it’s something that many writers should take into consideration. Male characters can have the “dead wife/love interest” trope, but it’s not quite the same.
I actually liked Maleficent, though, since I liked the ending and I have a major crush on Angelina Jolie/Maleficent in general.
Why fixate on the female characters so? Even 6 Juggernaut Star has his Freudian Excuse. Before he could grind others on The Wheel, he had to be ground on It himself.
No-one is an island unto themselves, and we are all equally products of our environment and our choices. The trick is in finding the line betwixt.
This is actually great criticism, and as weird as it sounds, I had never thought about it until you pointed it out. The three main characters do have bad or somewhat contentious relationships with men. I have never really considered it a theme, and I’m certainly not trying to write around it that way. I’d like to think aside from White Chain, who has a very direct problem with gender, Cio and Allison are motivated heavily by other concerns.
I think you’ll find the angle I’m (very soon) going with Mottom is not that she’s a victim at all – far from it. But a core part of the theme of this comic is about power and who gets to wield it, etc, so I guess it might inevitably come up.
Thanks for the good feedback. Posts like these are really important to me because this is the kind of thing I’ve been trying to avoid.
Why leap the listeners to talk long of excuses? Mottom is no black page what seeks to paint itself to white. Mottom never wishes to justify, or to be justified with woe. Only read it, hear it, take it as it is; to think always of judgement clouds the eyes, and clots the vein where Truth would flow.
For some reason I am reminded of the words of a poet B’On J’Ovi from, I think, Earth 7,042 who sang the following: “An angel’s smile is what you sell/ You promise me heaven, then put me through Hell/ Chains of love got a hold on me/ When passions’ a prison, you can’t break free.”
I don’t think the Queen is trying to justify anything, merely explaining the circumstances of her life to ALL-YISUN to prove a point about the universe and possibly ensure that the eternal deadlock remains that way, by showing her the end result of her journey should she continue on the path prophecy has set.
Methinks dear Nadia Om is trying to trick Alison into thinking she just needs a true friend in order to be redeemed. She has, after all, returned both herself and Alison to the symbolic age she was before she was taken by Hastet. How might her path in life have turned out different with someone kind like AL-YIS-UN around?
She can’t escape the wizened old witch she is inside.
No trickery is required. No redemption is sought. It should not escape notice that it is only in the presence of supplicants Mother Om wears the face of youth. In privacy, and in counsel with equals, she is most comfortable as the crone. Of the Seven, only Gog-Agog has a mind capable of escaping self-acceptance after aeons of rulership.
Long and hard was the road from Nadia to the Imperatrix of the Gates of Fire, but it began with a young girl cast into a world she had no way to understand, by the capricious hand of a god-king’s pity.
And before Mother Om comes a beautiful golden jewel, the mark of a god-king’s favor in her brow.
YISUN is an exquisite liar, but like all of that exalted sorority he is wont to repeat his favorites from time to time.
She, and incubus, and the other four, need her help to defeat Jagganoth. They will do whatever is necessary to secure this powerful ally, in their struggle to retain their power.
How ironic that if they weren’t so busy fighting him, they could crush the Heir before she has time to fulfill the prophecy and Kill Seven Black Emperors.
God’s don’t need to justify themselves. The concept of “justice” is unnecessary for those who cannot be held accountable for anything by anyone. Mottom’s just having a heart to heart with Allison because she sees something of herself in the young lady. It’s less of an, “I’m really not so bad” speech and more of a “When I started out I was kind of like you” speech.
In context, it appears that the intent was to refer to an unrefined person (boor), not an uninteresting or dull person (bore). I read it as correct as used.
Efficiently written information. It will be profitable to anybody who utilizes it, counting me. Keep up the good work. For certain I will review out more posts day in and day out.
I was reading your article and wondered if you had considered creating an ebook on this subject. Your writing would sell it fast. You have a lot of writing talent.

Nice post. I was checking constantly this blog and I am impressed! Extremely helpful information specially the last part I care for such info a lot. I was seeking this particular information for a very long time. Thank you and good luck.

A fairly hefty list you have complied.
Your name has been added to the Apocryphal Index.
Also, thank you for contributing to me need for continues strings of numbers.
No problems. It is a pleasure to see the list filed so nicely.
Many of my brothers have strayed from their eternal slumber to record their thoughts upon this mortal space. Truly Machine Concept and Icy Glaive deserve our utmost honor to record the authors of these temporary musings.
As for my own resurrections, I can only blame a temporary bout of insanity.
Might I implore that you include me, 7 Mourning Glory, in your list, O scribe?
In humility, one becomes close to YISUN, for humility is a great lie.
I implore that you include my name in your list, O scribe.
It is done. Your name has been added to the Apocryphal Index as well.
A great work has been achieved today, brothersisters! Congratulations.
But at least she didn’t need to dye her hair. So Alison has that on her.
Explains a lot, justifies nothing.

Abanddon is just building it up so that when Mottom’s dick move is pulled its all the more dickish.
Maybe.
But I can also see Nadia losing the fight with Juggernaut and dying tragically, now that she is a sympathetic character.
This one thinks Mottom’s greatest power is hipocrisy.
And so Does the Truth be spoken or is this bit a ruse for power’s sake?
It is so strange to know that there are many staring at a page of literally just two keys talking to one another…?
For some reason I am reminded of the words of a poet B’On J’Ovi from, I think, Earth 7,042 who sang the following: “An angel’s smile is what you sell/ You promise me heaven, then put me through Hell/ Chains of love got a hold on me/ When passions’ a prison, you can’t break free.”
Ours is not to judge, merely to observe. And so we shall continue to observe.

I foresee a Heel-face-heel turn soon.
It stuns how harsh a truth this may be and yet not annulment does it make the fact of Mottom’s wrath.
brief proofing note: should say “bore” not “boor” . . . easy homonyms to mix up 🙂
In context, it appears that the intent was to refer to an unrefined person (boor), not an uninteresting or dull person (bore). I read it as correct as used.
Ah, a wounded tyrant. I’m suspicious, to say the least.
Freedom, hope, uncertainty, individuality. The quintessential delusions of sapient beings.
