Yep, that human form looks sooooo good and cute.
It amuses me that Questioning Fate, who is the least organic in form, uses the most soft-spoken of mannerisms among them, and is so far only interested in White Chain’s well-being.
Indeed. It seems that kindness is not truly restricted to those of humanlike form. And may be in their very nature. We will see. All does unravel in time. Or so we hope.

I’ve grown oddly fond of 10 Vigilant Gaze and his concerned grandpe-ness. I hope he remains a recurring character.
A similar statement comes to mind, observed in some far-off corner. A retort, perhaps, vandalized on some cosmic rest area.

The crude artwork accompanying the scrawl was particularly noteworthy.
Angels, birthed of the cold flame of dispassionate justice, care not for the trappings of the mortal world. They live above it, and uphold the law of it. They are the righteous objectivists.
To the angels, to take the trappings of mortals; to take form, insipid gender(!) is to lose objectivity and succumb to the passions and mutability of the flame of mortality.
And no angel is outside the circle. Perfect. Infertile.
I just want to dwelve into this comic. Just stay, and observe, pick every threads and details up and examine it to its extent.

Interesting thet the two most sympathetic/supportive of White Chain are the two that hve reincarnated the most out of the group (excluding White Chain). I wonder if the process of reincarnation that the angels go through helps them understand mortals better, snd if so, maybe that was the point why they wete made that way with such an ability.
It would allow them to grow and chang with the times while staying true to the spirit of thier purpose. It would also mean that the angels that don’t reincarnate, or stay at such a low number are subverting the will of God and are actually the corrupted/deviant ones.
Some angels are more prone to sympathy, therefore losing their way faster than others. Not the only way to wander from the path, but sympathy is one of the more difficult to guard against. And an angel’s path is chiseled onto him, really. So it could be said some angels are more prone to corruption… or being double-killed… because of their personality than others. (ahem)
I would think not all angels are forged for the same path, but rather to specialize in protecting different aspects of law just as servants specialize in different areas of service.

I find that the reactions to White Chain being more “human” is often how people react to queer people coming out. I say this as a queer person myself. “forget” “forget about what you feel inside” “forget about this identity, we know better”, “I suppose if you don’t act human it’s okay to look human” “as long as you don’t act gay or act like the gender you identify then it’s okay for you to identify that way” “as long as you hide it it’s fine”. “a few millenia in the void and you’ll be fixed” “go to church more and you’ll be cured” and more…I may be reading too much into it but those phrases sound so familiar to me.
Oof, yeah. As a trans woman myself, this hit surprisingly hard. Glad I’m not the only one getting that vibe.
It seems like it always happens with laws, that people start to idolize them and forgetting or ignoring the reaon those laws were made in the foerst place.
