I am struck by how much a resemblance the “burning wheel” of heaven of this fantasy world has similarities to the often suggested form of a a enormous black hole (blazar or quasar) and a ring of matter surrounding it (accretion disk) and the jet that forms due to the tremendous gravitation forces involved. Could this fantasy explanation/illustration of creation be deliberate on part of the artist? Or am I viewing to closely?
I hadn’t noticed that at all until you pointed it out! Throne being the black hole at the center of creation, attracting all things unto it, it’s very good imagery. It’s also hard not to think of the terrifying implication that brings…
Immediately as I posted my comment, I realized a black hole is the ‘corpse’ of a star of considerable mass, and Throne too is often referred to as a decaying corpse of what was once Heaven. I’m starting to feel very confident that this was all intentional.

I notice the sides of the burning wheel have eyes and wings, angel-like iconography. Would imply that the spokes of creation are themself an Angel, or just angelic in nature, maybe? I wonder what significance this has, beyond the biblical reference.
Reminds me a bit of some of Buddha’s teachings…
