Metatron 1 looks awfully similar to a human. I suspect Michael would not approve of this, if he knew… But surely Michael had met Metatron 1 at some point? Why, then, is he troubled by the human-like appearance of White Chain?
Many of the gods looked human. And even the angel’s shells looked human. Considering that Metatron was the closest to Yisun, would it be all that strange if he looked the same?
Yisun’s male appearance seems to be his “default” appearance. Even though it doesn’t really matter since he can be male or female at a whim and is referred to as “they” or “it”, the male form is still the “neutral” appearance. The angels were also derived from Yis’ white flame, who was a male, so there values are associated with the masculine side of Yisun.
Abbadon did bring up something like this before when he asked for suggestions on gods and goddesses in the past. There’s a pattern in what kinds of things are associated with which half. Looking like a male is no problem since males are associated with their values, but looking like a female may either be because the angel is leaning towards the values they’re associated with (maybe Liminal Blossom looks female too?) or because they actually feel like being a female (like White Chain does), which is a big no-no. Too much attachment to physical appearance.
Will the angels ever show up in the tales of the gods? Being YISUN’s scribe seems like a big deal so I’m surprised we haven’t but heard more from Metatron
Or maybe he wrote all the tales of the gods that we see below the comics… 🧐
