Victory wine huh… This is not going as I’d hoped
Victory wine
I’ve been through battles
I’ve bathed in the blood
But wheels of god’s organs
Turn any carcass into mud
From mud blooms a flower
Flower gets eaten by a cow
That caw gets slaughtered
Her blood nurtures the war
Come on Maya, don’t fail us now! I want that twink OBLITERATED!
…even more than he already is.
Twink death!
Twink death!
Twink death!
Twink death!
Twink unlife!
Twink unlife!
Twink unlife!
Twink unlife!
“Wheel of god’s organs” is my new best “metal as fuck” phrase.
Called it!
Hahaha from down town, clearly had a vision of the panel in your head 🫡🫡
Looking at that list, I wonder about the last item.
“Wheel of god’s organs.”
Is that a “wheel of (god’s organs)”, as in a wheel that is made up of the organs of a god?
Or a “(wheel of god)’s organs”, as in the organs from a wheel belonging to (or made from or of?) a god?
And are these biological organs, or musical organs? Perhaps this is some kind of ecclesiastical concert or battle of the bands, done in the round?
🤔
Hail EirĂkr Ăštlendi. Delightful questions.
Compelled as I am to consider branching possibilities, I offer:
A). A hideously compelling merry-go-round of god’s organs which generates effects as it turns. Bonus points for shaping compelling mythic beasts with the organs. All manner of compulsions or geas may result from riding.
B) Wheel as a metaphor for the godly organs arranged in a circle.
Of course they will levitate on their own and form an instant magickal circle once so arranged end to end. Various effects depending on the favored order of the organs so ordered. Reverence towards the dead god donors is highly recommended. Do you even know what you are inviting to this plane ? Whoops.
C) Wheel of Fortune. ~ Ye have access to the organs of gods and yet you want to know more ? Okay, sure. Place the organs at the points of cosmic resonance, invoke them by name and dare ask them to reveal the turn of the Wheel. Ye shall gain a foretelling… and for tearing the veil, ye shall bear YISUN’s curse.
He’s so cunty. He and Astarion would quote Shakespeare to eachother
I think he would explode astarion with his mind tbh
AT each other*
Somehow I’m expecting Maya to surprise us all, and dispatch Incubus via some other method, using her sword of Maybe solely to stall and keep Inkie occupied, before finishing the fight some other way.
a sharp brick?
Maya has her noodle vendor and hot pot skills, and her flsk to combat the blood magic.
I was once discussing with my mule my dislike for the new dishes served in a tavern I used to frequent along the Great Road when it said something that gave me pause.
“Stagnancy is the enemy of victory.
What don’t change can’t learn
What don’t learn can’t live.
What don’t live can only die.”
So all that banther about our lord and punisher, David Bowie, wasn’t for naught.
Spectacular violence, one that propagates from harm…
incubus’ remark that she has gotten weaker after abandoning her old life speaks directly to the question this comic keeps coming back to – if the art of cutting is ultimately a path of senseless violence, will power always flow towards the worst people?
A terrifying question indeed. If Maya does come out ahead in this fight, I hope the outcome there suggests the counter argument; the art of cutting STARTS as a path of senseless violence, but true mastery is when sense is imposed on the violence. From violence in reaction to acting in violence. For the cut with purpose is wielded by Royalty.
To me, imposition of violence on violence seems like a ridiculous way to subvert the cycle of violence, as this form is already accounted for by the cycle.
The point of the cycle, I believe, is that it is impossible to break. Any method to withstand it must be just that, some way to mitigate its effects, to redirect its effects in a different direction.
“dogs eat”
You ain’t nothing but a lapdog,
cryin’ all the time…
damn cool. It really shows once again that the demiurges are powerhouses beyond reason.
Oh he would pull some horsepiss like this
I’ll get you for this, Steve!!
Oh you wanna take some sucker shots? You wanna take some sucker shots at my Banana cage, Bilbo?!
Is that… a bigtop burger reference? I couldn’t help, but read it in Cesare’s voice even without realizing it was a reference.
Probably did already. Last time him and Maya fought, she decapitated him cleanly. Then he lashed her to within an inch of her life.
He’s an exceptionally poor swordsman, but alas is also an exceptionally robust cutting board.
How is he still talking? That sort of requires breath.
Head of John style, blood alchemy, and a Key make for many things becoming possible that would otherwise be considered unimaginable. Personally, I feel the Key is doing the heavy lifting in this case, though the blood alchemy could be taking care of the oxygen transport.
Talking without breath is pretty mundane on the scale of batshit insanity of K6BD.
Indeed. Zoss got his head lopped off and it didn’t really bother him all that much.
He does like to natter, doesn’t he? Such a gossip girl.
You can’t see it but there’s a strong breeze directly beneath him.
Has Incubus every truly tested his arts? He and Maya have fought, and so far apparently it’s been a tie. Maya has become faster. Has she really become weaker, or is she balancing her sword art? Soft, and then lethal.
It’s not been a tie, she always lost because she both knows and is nothing.
How is this allowed!? Ref! REFFFFFFF
I think this is his best look yet.
One thing about Incubus is that while he might be a terrible swordsman he is an astounding survivalist. He’s by far the weakest demiurge in terms of power but the tradeoff is he’s probably the single hardest one to actually destroy. Gog could hypothetically be killed if you somehow destroyed every single worm and as of right now he’s tied with Jagganoth in terms of true indestructibility but we’ll have to see if that’s true.
As far as i know there is no way to truly kill him the best you could do is decapitate him, steal his head, and then throw it into the abyss so nobody can ever find it again. This is if you can’t somehow cut the uncuttable and just cheese it with enough royalty.
Mammon or Mottom were the weakest demiurges. Incubus is in the middle off the ranking and can even take on Jagganoth for a while.
One thing of note. We have seen Incubus in one serious fight before this. The fight with Jagonoth. He used none of these secret arts in that fight. He did heal and recover with the blood alchemy. So is Maya that much more of a challenge than Jaggs?
What exactly did she expect to happen?
That’s kinda the theme for this whole fight so far. She comes armed with a sword against a man who she already knows can’t be slain by swords, she comes armed with pure violence against a man whose entire existence is nothing but violence. Her philosophy can’t repudiate philosophy his any more than her skill can overcome his blood magic. She’s martially and morally toothless. I really wonder if it’ll come down to who has the better killing prowess. I hope not.
I’m not sure it’s a sword. Maybe it is. Maybe not. I suppose when it slices Incubus, it better be ‘maybe not’.
The only way forward I see is for Maya to take back her key that he’s been holding. The other demiurges never accepted Incubus as one of them, because the key was Maya’s. She has to accept her role again.
“The primary thing when you take a sword in your hands is your intention to cut the enemy, whatever the means. Whenever you parry, hit, spring, strike or touch the enemy’s cutting sword, you must cut the enemy in the same movement. It is essential to attain this. If you think only of hitting, springing, striking or touching the enemy, you will not be able actually to cut him.”
– Musashi Miyamoto
“Do nothing that is useless.” Ibid.
Red the bucking horse
is no king, not of ithaca
or anywhere else, seems to me.
Incubus talking a big game for someone who gets continuously cut.
hes had a key for so long and this is what it gets him?
exceptionally poor swordsman indeed…
Three travelers journeyed to the city of Tuc, a knight, a thief and a fool. This city was known to be a den of danger and violence, but they each assured the others that they were prepared to handle it. Reaching the city gates, they split up, planning to reconvene at an inn.
A short time later, in the inn’s common room, the knight entered first, then the thief, then the fool. Each wondering whose journey had been more impressive, they decided to tell the story of how they managed to avoid the danger.
“It was the simplest thing.”, boasted the knight. “I walked straight here. A few brigands attacked me on the road, but my armor let me ignore their blows. I slaughtered a few and the rest scattered. How did you manage it, thief?”
“It was a testament to my skill”, boasted the thief. “I slipped into the shadows and made my way here through alleys and over rooftops. No-one saw me and thus I avoided all danger. How did you avoid the danger, fool?”
“There was no danger.”, boasted the fool, and promptly bled out from the stab wounds they had received.
It’s just really cool – that’s such a fun visual. I bet the blood appendages and organs make a squelchy noise. I love to hate that guy but I think I’m starting to hate to love him.
Oh…oh no…
True loser mentality is making plans to fight on past your own dismemberment, rather than making plans to avoid being dismembered.
Thank you. I needed that laugh.
Royalty does not plan to die. Kings and conquerors true grasp their ambition and seize it for themselves, with no thought or plan for their downfall.
They do not think about it at all.
I feel like the more you cut him the more monstrous he becomes… Might need a fire sword for this one to burn away the blood …
