Yeah when they started horribly loosing I started thinking about gog transporting allison back to the start of the fight in the next wheel turn. I feel like there are some questionable moral aspects of it though because it technically wouldn’t be OUR cast anymore, it would be an alternate one.
By becoming the New King? Exactly what the Angels have sought? No. Her only way to break the wheel is to do what no King has ever done. Share the Crown.
As it has been said before, those who master the wheel cannot break it. To wear the Crown at all is folly, the only path is to shatter the Crown as well.
Were anyone to consider it anything even remotely approaching ‘clever’, they would be labouring under quite the considerable misapprehension, it must be observed.
Hmmm. Maybe. I think it’s closer to a regular character death. Abbadon is clearly aware of fridging as a concept (Gog tells Allison it usually happens to a version of her) and in a story invested in breaking narrative cycles and choosing your own path, killing off Zaid just to hurt Allison seems unlikely.
Or maybe I’m reading into a joke comment too much.
I’m honestly not sure at this point. I do think that Allison finding the corpse at this point in the battle is nudging us to see it that way–like this will unlock a new level of rage-fueled power in her. But is that misdirection? It seems likely–Abbadon does like his curveballs.
I don’t think Zaid is important enough for neither the story nor the character for Allison to get a senkai boost out of him dying, at best it can act as a wake up call to realize that she brought a bunch of mortals and relatively powerless civilians to be slaughtered without a real proper backup plan
Which means both Gog and Janis were right
Now Nyaeve on the other hand could get a rage boost out of this, but she is an strategist not a fighter, so that would be a downgrade which will put their army in an even worse position
0001 stabbed her and then disappeared from the comic entirely. Can’t have something of interest happen until there have been 100 pages of Allison punching random mooks while looking utterly exhausted. Guess that entire arc where she spent months doing endurance training with Maya wasn’t terribly helpful. Girl shaved her head for nothing.
Gog, sister, I’m sorry, but after all that constant yapping about how strong you are, instantly giving up when things get slightly challenging is pretty PATHETIC. You’re the reason we’re IN THIS MESS (even if I still blame Mottom more(
10,000 Agogs is observant. There has been a repeating pattern, dare I say a motif, in this caricature of the Demiurges, who could have been great, being entirely pathetic. Mottom, afraid of her own court. Mammon, senile and Count-obsessed. Jadis, trapped in her glass prism. Solomon David, convinced he is the hero. Jagganoth, desperate to end everything just to escape. Mathangi Ten Meti, a fat drunk who lies about her own brother. Gog-Agog is no exception, she is merely aware of her own imprisonment and sees no reason to defy it when she will merely watch the story unfold again.
Corpulent Alcoholic of the Problematic Familial Bond
I find it probable that Maya would disagree, but as she is a Demiurge and not a Corpulent Alcoholic of the Problematic Familial Bond, I defer to your expertise on the topic.
Gog doing her job of goading All-Yis-Un into her full immanence.
Gog is part of Allison now. She knows her mind. Her self-loathing. Her indomitable stubbornness. And above all her will to defy the gods and the path they have laid out for themselves and creating.
Gog also knows Ally occasionally needs a good kick up the arse to get moving in the right direction.
I once asked the god of a small village “why do you let death claim your flock? Surely you have the power to defend such a meagre domain from her hungry talons.” To my surprise, he replied “because to be a god that welcomes death is far less…troublesome, than to be a god that brings life.” I think of his words often, as I somehow know deep in my being they are right; yet, that makes the mystery as to why so much more perplexing, and provides no further peace to the pain in the parting of ways.
They were together when it all began, and after being torn away from each other, they each struggled as best they could to survive. Now she finds herself alone, separated from the only witness to her past life.
Even though he was almost entirely absent from the forefront of the story, he was probably the most important person to Allison after Cio, not necessarily because of emotional ties, but because of what he represented.
And it doesn’t particularly seem to matter much thusfar. Nyave is the only character who decided to do…anything at all about it, kinda, and even that hasn’t mattered and she’s disappeared along with all the float-boats we were introduced to over the course of five pages. Zaid has practically been a non-entity for a very, very long time and the questionable pacing of this final showdown has been so questionable that it just doesn’t have very much emotional weight. Nyave seemed to care I guess but even she has vanished after pulling her kamikaze stunt.
I’m still holding on to my high hopes for this but I’m starting to lose interest. Hopefully this is the catalyst that moves things along in a meaningful way.
The first page of the website points out that this is meant to be read in graphic novel format. If you’re so obsessed with “questionable pacing”, you should wait for it to be over and binge it, because that’s what you signed up for.
I don’t mean the pacing of the releases. I’m fine with that. I mean the pacing of -the events occurring in the comic.- I even made sure to state that flat-out. Also, “obsessed” is a deliberate and knowing misrepresentation of what i’m saying, and furthermore even if I WAS talking about what you disingenuously assumed I was talking about I’m damn well free to do so without being sneered at. Nothing is immune from criticism.
1) you’re still wrong, the pacing of the events is fine. Wait for it to be completed and then reread it.
2) spamming about how much you hate the comic does not help with anything other than lowering Abaddon’s self-esteem. If you’re going to criticize, be polite about it.
there is absolutely nothing in that comment to indicate that the person who wrote it “hates” the comic. although I also don’t agree that the pacing of this final showdown is questionable**, it is a respectfully written critique, and you are simply assuming that Abaddon is as immature as you are.
**imo, this final moment will not be fully dictated by frenetic violence and glorious strength, wich maybe is what you would think is a more “interesting pacing”, idk (do tell). the analogy i see here is that Allison is at the botton of a lake, drowning, and is about to remove the last piece of the armor that was dragging her down. her understanding of the world and her position in it changed a lot, and for me, this moment does not resolve around her “sucess” against Jagganoth, but how her choice will differ from that of all other demiurges. she won’t abstain like jadis, won’t acumulate like mammon, won’t monopolize like solomon, won’t deny her flaws like gog, won’t build status like mottom, won’t treat victory as a final prize like incubus and won’t deny suffering as a part of life like jagganoth .
what will Allison choose to do? and, once she does it, then what?
1427 chartreuse ring reincarnates exceptionally quickly
I just found Cain a few months ago and from there a few weeks ago k6bd. This is my first up-to-date page of the comic…. I dont wanna wait! What a fate most cruel…
Thank you Abbadon, your works have changed a part of me!

Gog… across billions of cycles, countless more perhaps, as the main character in truth, to choose to be secondary at the most unexpected and pivotal of any opportunities before – I am astounded – aghast. Expression agape in surprise. But, for once, not agog.
Ya know, with all the angels hanging around watching the battle, all us commenters could be canonically hanging out sharing our “wise insights” (sic) about the nature of kingship.
We can be the Hidden Root knights, the fanclub secretly rooting for White Chain and Alison.
The New Shoot Knights who love the gun witch and the Fruit Knights who just want the girls to kiss and the Gogs who sit around and do the greek muse thing instead of helping out can come too.
righteous anger charging?
holy shit we were first.
a first!
Goodbye my love
Goodbye, that guy I almost hooked up with once
are we hooking up in the ksbd comments section now? truly, royalty
Is it gonna be a resurrection or a yelling? Place your bets!
Yellurrection
Reslling
Please please please do not resurrect Ztwat!
I’m calling an illusion. Goggy’s gonna look like she’s winding back time when she takes everyone out of the simulation and they get to do it for real.
Yeah when they started horribly loosing I started thinking about gog transporting allison back to the start of the fight in the next wheel turn. I feel like there are some questionable moral aspects of it though because it technically wouldn’t be OUR cast anymore, it would be an alternate one.
Consider Gog’s position though.. Anything conceivable to it would have and has already happened..
Novelty is a word of wind and every tempest an already tortured creature…
Depends does Allison have Inspire Aced
Now Alison can show the angels that their expectations will not be met this cycle.
996 Bunnies Bring Chaos is wise.
The angels expect to crown Zaid, and she can show them his body.
The Rare and Coveted Reverse Fridging
First cio and now the dude (forgot his name)
His name is Ztwat.
That’s not as clever as you seem to think it is.
Were anyone to consider it anything even remotely approaching ‘clever’, they would be labouring under quite the considerable misapprehension, it must be observed.
I strongly recommend you abandon that name as a failed idea.
Microwaving
Ovening?
mmm oven-roasted Zaid

Prolly rather than get a powerup Alison is gonna pick up his skull and have an angsty monologue like Hamlet.
Alison is holding up pretty well for a woman who was just stabbed clean through the abdomen. I wonder where her breaking point is.
Please, what kinda fuckin’ loser just keels over and dies from somethin’ silly like impalement? All-YISUN’s the Rising King after all.
0001 stabbed her and then disappeared from the comic entirely. Strength is just a word. The mightiest king is merely the greatest failure in the universe.
10,000 Agogs is observant. There has been a repeating pattern, dare I say a motif, in this caricature of the Demiurges, who could have been great, being entirely pathetic. Hey. There’s nothing wrong with being a fat drunk who lies about their brother.
I find it probable that Maya would disagree, but as she is a Demiurge and not a Corpulent Alcoholic of the Problematic Familial Bond, I defer to your expertise on the topic.
I mean. She picked which mess they were in, sure. She’s seen this mess before, and uncountable others.
Gog doing her job of goading All-Yis-Un into her full immanence.

I don’t know what it is, but I’m starting to think Zaid may not be the heir.
He’s still got it in him. Give him a few seconds and he’ll be up and at ’em
😄
*Paaayynin’ for the fjords?* What kind of talk is that?! Look, why did it fall flat on its back the moment I got it t’ th’ battlefield?
The only reason it was sitting on its perch is because it was nailed there!
He is an ex-Zaid!
Actually I believe a good deal of the it to no longer be in him. Splattered along the field behind him, rather.
Someone put a Knicks jersey on him, he needs to COME BACK.
He could be the heir if people would get out there and VOTE.
Rage power up?
mf is still a donut
“but you’re still coming to work tomorrow, right?”

oh cool free swords
eight of them are missing
I never worry. Why should I? It’s all going to fade.
It’s sad.
They were together when it all began, and after being torn away from each other, they each struggled as best they could to survive. Now she finds herself alone, separated from the only witness to her past life.

The silence between every song is indeed deafening, but all the better to savor the melody.
Why do I have a feeling that Allison is just going to fling Zaid’s corpse in front of 2 Michael with “here’s your Heir!”

I’m glad someone said it, watching the main characters constantly lose before the main fight is strenuous
