“Few knew, and fewer still then those that could understand, among mortal kin, the terrible, icy sorrow enshrined in the hearts of those fiery guardians.”
I love this comic more than any other. But every now and again, the author cacks one up and struggles more with English grammar than I do as a second-language learner. (“I smite thee, wretches” is about as grammatical as “I will kill him, the bastards.”; ‘thee’ is the 2nd person singular; if you want old-fashioned, go for ‘ye’. And nope, this does not have an in-universe excuse. It’s just bad grammar.)
No, it’s basically fine. Second-person singular can be used to refer to groups – “I will smite you, wretches,” is completely acceptable. Also, and this might be me just blundering into an embarrassing mistake since I’m not a historical linguist, but I’m fairly sure “ye” is a nominative pronoun, it’s only used as the subject of a sentence. So “Ye wretches, I shall smite thee” is grammatical, but “I shall smite ye” is not.
The nominative/accusative cases have largely vanished from English grammar as I understand, though it still exists in I/me and he/him or she/her or they/them or whatever (“I go to him” vs. “He comes to me”)—thee/thou is another example, where thou is the nominative and thee is the accusative.
I believe Metatron is only intervening because Gog Magog is the bigger-picture threat. Are we overdue for the full reveal of Zoss and Meta’s true arrangement?
What is with the golden ring floating in the lower right corner? Is that the one ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them? Cause some of these guys could surely use some binding.
I wonder how Juggernaut Star managed to get back? I thought that after being blown up by Vigilant Gaze, he’d have to stay in the void a couple thousand years before reincarnating as 7 Juggernaut Star?
Juggernaut is difficult to kill. The bike is also her body (or more specifically, the wheel?), so she can simply retreat into it if her humanoid form is destroyed. Maya destroyed Juggernaut’s humanoid body in the battle at Mottom’s palace, which didn’t kill her but was apparently EXTREMELY PAINFUL (Seeker of Thrones 3-21).
Ghost rider in the sky!
I like that in addition to all the regular angels, there seems to just be an Endless Flock Of Doves flying out from between Metatron 1’s wings.
Those are just mindless jakabirds which keep shkler body clean and free of parasitic larvae.
This episode was directed by John Woo.
where is Metatron’s beautiful hair? truly this is the end of all things
Metatron’s true motivation for his omnicidal rage is that he’s gone bald. Angelic mid-life crises can cause serious collateral damage.

Perhaps Michael is speaking to Gog, who is both singular and plural.

It’s Metatron’s halo, you can see it in the previous page. I wondered that at first too though LOL.
What is that on the bottom right? Metatron’s halo, or did Juggy’s bike throw a hubcap? Or is it the One Ring?
See, this is why we should read to the end of the comments before posting.
Doh!
Gorgeous, cool page. Big angel gon kick some butt now.
Dude sure got a lot of wings.
It’s been a hot minute since we’ve seen Gabriel.
Also Juggernaut Star is back.
Metatron, crucified upside down, like Judas.
Peter was crucified upside down. The right-hand man.
Judas hung himself.

The angels are here, now it’s time for the devils.

Angels we have heard on high
Oh shit oh fuck oh shit we’re gonna die
Are they are on anyone’s side? Are they are no one’s side? Is anyone going to tell them Twincubus killed the ‘real’ heir?
The Speaker returns!
Yee, after reading it for so long no more I have any idea what’s going on and who i who.
