Enh, nuclear binding energy is *way* oversold. In the first place, it’s only even positive when splitting things heavier than iron. If you split a bunch of nitrogen, oxygen, and carbon into what few elements are lighter, you’ll have to put *in* energy on net.

The issue is less Zaid losing and more there’s something specific aboht breaking the cycle Metatron has control of that they keep repeating it. Allison was chosen specifically to try a new angle if I recall correctly. But it’s been forever since I saw the talk Allison and the original Demiurge had. I vaguely remember something about Allison being a better fit because rather than being the stereotypical action hero archetype and bending the wheel to her whim and thereby pertutating the cycle. She’s more inclined to work with others and thereby less inclined to perpetuate the wheel and thereby the closed loop? But it’s been ages honestly. The original Demiurge basically out right comes out and says Allison is doing everything right by fusing. Or at least doing the band of friends shtick. Shame she’s lost her brain since then.
I remember Zoss (or was it Jagannoth?) saying something to the effect of the chosen heir is victorious over the demiurges and then goes on to take the throne. And then the time reset occurs.
Probably, I think the reset is something they chose though. I don’t quite recall off thw top of my head why. But I vaguely remember it being something specifically for breaking the cycle. Metatron want it for order reasons if I recall. Zoss wants to break the cycle for freedom and Jagganoth just thinks everything would be swell if everyone was super dead.
Well… maybe now Nyave will be the one who kills him. She’s definitely entitled to it.
But with the cheerleader un-saved, what will become of the world?
Nyave has shown 0 combat ability and I completely doubt that a major villain like Incubus is going to die to gunship fire. He’s Maya fodder, the prophecy demands it!
Currently Nyave is in command of one of the great god bone ships and it has Maya as a warhead. We know the ship does not survive the day, I think using it as a missile verses the blood soaked Incubus sounds about right.
