I would be keen to get some more details on it than we have, considering a massive army has unilaterally decided to die for her…All we have is that WC said she is the wandering star that shatters empires. But I can’t think of an empire she has destroyed? Maybe mottom’s but that’s grasping for straws IMO. So there must have been a lot of lies told to get this kind of loyalty.
36 Ringing Bell Shatters Thieves and Heretics Both
And so Allison’s transformation into an anime protagonist is complete. She sure went far from the time she dressed as a magical girl (to be fair Sailor Moon is an anime protagonist too, but the dress was due to Incubus and so it lost a lot of gravitas).
God Shattering Star, huh? Claude is definitely a respectable choice, since the alternatives are a rabid monarchist, a corrupt church and someone who is willing to ally themselves with a people guilty of many atrocities to get what she wants.
The last one is really hot though, so also a defendable choice
the God-Shattering STar is Nemesis, not Claude, though. Nemesis is much closer to who Allison is as a person, given she literally has the corpse of God inside her and is using it to kill all the other remaining descendants of that god like he did
Not a huge fan of these reasons White Chain is giving for why all these flying battleships (which are still at point blank range For Some Reason, aka they all need to explode the instant Jagganoth emerges) have showed up. Insanely clichéd drivel.
It looks amazing though and to be perfectly frank my sole interest since the “Allison! Now!” nonsense with Incubus has been the artwork.
Same. There’s been a lot of “And then….” writing since that moment, which is fine when introducing a wacky world but not when the protagonist’s arc and major plot threads are coming together.
And frankly, our antagonist is woefully underdeveloped. There has been no effort to discern the truth of his claims. I’m sure it will all end with some vaguely Eastern and paradoxical pseudo-philosophical statement that involves swords and royalty and explains absolutely nothing.
Absolutely. There’ll also be some vaguely insulting to people who live in constant pain “Actually, Pain Is Good” pablum, some mishmash of gnostic, Zoroastrian, Hindu, Pythagorean, Taoist and Buddhist philosophy, Swords, and then Jagganoth will go “ah jeez you’re right how could I have been so blind” stuff and Jadis will applaud and tell Allison how cool and correct she is
If this doesn’t end with Alison talking to jaggohad getting mind regressed between blows ill be sad. If it’s going to be yakkity yak yak. Sometimes things are better said. But I like to see fights. A tender hand can also be a steady hand.
I don’t think most people get it. When he said that this cycle was unique among all the others, he meant that every single cycle is unique in some way. But they all end the same way: kicking off the next cycle.
I can’t help but hear “Final Countdown” by Europe playing during the past few pages, as the ships sail majestically through the aether. The guitar solo is during this page, fading down into the background as they talk. But then on the last panel it comes back, going full orchestral.
Both Mottom crew and the Bank are missing?
What is the most memorable image from the Battle with Jaggy? (no not the hog)
The sight of Mottom riding Mammon into battle.
Isn’t there a formerly flying city of gold laying within the Vault ?
I’m confused. Wasn’t there a Mammon opposing ship in the fleet? And one that seemed like it was from the anti-Mottom forces? And aren’t both Mammon and Mottom dead?
What forces would those groups still have? I’d have thought they’d fall apart quickly or get co-opted by another demiurge or the republic that White Chain and company were trying to build?
Time for a fight, meat bags. I hope Allison knows Sekiro personally, because I feel she’s going to do a lot of deflection.
Damn, the republic certainly did some heavy lift to bloat Alison’s reputation like that. I wonder what the propaganda was like?
You’re reading it right now

She was responsible for a giant hole being blown in the Vault of Yre. She robbed the Dragon and got completely away with it.
Pretty sure Mottom was responsible for that big hole in the vault. What did she steal exactly?
A kiss
Yeah this entire “oh you’re the star they followed” bit is intensely clichéd and hamfisted.
Oh well. They can’t all be zingers, as Primus wisely said.
Gog agog pog
Oh dear Zoss everyone in that fleet is going to die

Please stand by.

Laad’vi kadath ingraan’h…
Vaajavas vul, bil huriith…
Vath, THIBAATH!
Wtf did you just say to me?!
Ten … Earth … Shattering … Blows!
sweet I didn’t expect to see God Shattering Star referenced in this one.
why does it feel like you’re trying to wrap it up?
he’s been trying to wrap it up since the jagganoth attack
Because this battle is the stated final segment of the comic.
I can see how you’d be confused, he’s only said that this is the last bit of the comic roughly a dozen times
The fact that she has the power button symbol on her coat is just awesome.
Am I the first to notice the symbol of Power on the back of Alison’s jacket?
No. No, you are not.
How come nobody has named the demon yet? She could use a pretty short name and a mask right about now. Poor girl seems a bit pale as it stands.
The whole…uh, “face situation” she has going on is intensely ugly and yes, please, slap a damn mask over it so I don’t have to see it anymore.

Lock cannons, target the Jaggahog, you can’t miss it!

Thinking Machine Alexa, play God Shattering Star.
Okay. Playing “Cod Scattering” by The Fishermen.
