In the fifth panel you can see two Gog Agogs dressed as fruits, symbolizing that Allison and New Coke are still extremely gay, another example of the incredible visual storytelling in this series
With themes of pink and white, I am somewhat concerned by the question of, whom has she been in contact with since her last death.
Incubus is my gut instinct.
Did he use his connection to Alison to jump to Cios mind when they were fused?
Has he been feeding the worst parts of her?
Okay, but like… there is no way that much hair would fit inside there.
Also: Panel four? Is she dodging Alison’s attack, or being thrown by it.
Not to mention, she is now ABOVE Alison on the staircase, and hence, closer to the WORM.

Well, well, looks like Cio couldn’t let White Chain upstage her and has also evolved into something new and never seen before. I wonder how “Ivory devils” are different from Ebony ones???
Nukoku’s likely been tainted or changed in some shape or form by the White Flame that makes up an Angel, hence her rebirth in the chrysalis-like armor she’s wearing.
Look, plenty of comments are claiming this thing is hot, and if it does it for you, good on ya I guess… But this is not thirstbait imo. It looks like a gross disturbing bug demon, and i think it achieves exactly the sort of [confused revulsion at what Cio has become] that Abaddon intended. Just my own two cents, though.
Syrup? That’s her blood. I mean, it looks like Danganronpa blood, but it’s still blood. I mean she’s covered in flesh wounds from her own spikes (which I think is supposed to represent something, probably the way people beat themselves up over things they can’t change, but I’m not a Literature Person, y’know?) Otherwise, the design is pretty much dead on a white and spiky version of Yabalchoath, isn’t it?
This is honestly more an intersection of creepy-crawly and human features that are carried by the long hair. Not really sexual from an objective view, but I know how this comic’s fans get… oh how I know.
If there’s one thing I love about KSBD is that the whole “self-actualisation brings about physical transformation and greater power” theme never just happens in a big flash of light while the character gets a new haircut and a cool new colour scheme, it’s always grotesque and violent and extremely painful-looking.
Ebony, Ivory, perhaps to sides of the same coin, perhaps opposite ends of the spectrum. Perhaps past Ebony yet before I Himself. What happens when a Devil rejects their own Ego, what happens if they accept it?
A sin against Heaven
Heaven must fall
Allison hides from the past. Nukoku hides in the past. White Chain hides from her power because she doesn’t believe anyone deserves that kind of power. Allison has chosen the path of Royalty. Nukoku wants to appreciate the small wonders of life. White Chain fears for the future. Allison can only Cut. Nukoku is a liar. White Chain is a liar. Al-Yisun is a liar.
The answer will lie in Aspected Chaos, a synthesis of all their broken, traumatized beliefs finally finding a way to move forward without abandoning hope and happiness in the present. Allison, you don’t have to be a sword.
I imagine that in the future, White Chain, Nukoku and Allison (each reborn recently to a new form) will merge into a single being again that will look even more complicated.
If we get through this without her entering some kind of “Zero” mode, I will be amazed.
I audibly gasped when I saw the newest incarnation of Cio. WOW
This is probably the coolest design in the whole comic. Bravo!

Love all the concerned Gogs.

SMH, can’t believe what the shattered Universal Order is teaching the youngsters these days.
Throne has fallen.
Millions must wa-
This comic really has the most badass character introductions ever
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. OK.
Alison , girl please, joust wellcome your girlfriend back into your life , it’s literely better for everyone
I can’t tell if the situation is getting better or worse.
Cool as hell either way.
In my experience, the answer is usually “both” and it’s extremely confusing

I gotta say… this looks like fanart. Sexy monster girl, okay, whatever. Kinda cheapens the emotional journey of Allison and Cio.

Agreed. There’s just barely enough ‘cute’ in all that ‘squick’ to trigger confusion in the less discerning.
A major win for the artist though, to strike that balance so perfectly, and evoke such emotion in the audience.
This is a tall skinny woman in a tight leather outfit, drenched in syrup. If that’s not thirstbait I don’t know what is.

I stand corrected, I went to double check and she was just as spiky.
The only change is the direction the spikes are facing.

a small and quiet place, you say… such as a rusted cage hanging above a desk in a Giger-esque room at the bottom of a pit? in this essay I will

Y’know, like actual self-improvement.
None of THAT talk around non-paying customers if you please, the Traders in Omens and Portents have certain standards to maintain.
you ever chased the cottagecore fantasy so hard you tear a hole in the void

A sin against Heaven
Heaven must fall
Hm…
A Sin Against Heaven > Reach Heaven Through Violence = Sinning against heaven is reaching Heaven through…non-violence?
This might not hold any water.
Oh man, I really want a happy ending for Cio, but I feel like it might be more realistic outcome. 😞 I still love this plot so much, though.
“reborn sin against heaven” has a very angelic ring to it…
Fish-Aggog doing her best karate pause is pure gold.
I came to say this. It’s beautiful.
Allison hides from the past. Nukoku hides in the past. White Chain hides from her power because she doesn’t believe anyone deserves that kind of power. Allison has chosen the path of Royalty. Shirou Emiya told me that all things lead to Sword and being a Sword is actually cool and based.
Abbadon Not Makkng An Even More Complicated Character To Draw Challenge Status: Insurmountable
Just kill them off in a page or two, problem solved!
I imagine that in the future, White Chain, Nukoku and Allison (each reborn recently to a new form) will merge into a single being again that will look even more complicated.
She is now Slave Country. To whom is she indentured?
