There is no such thing as a “Sword of Want”. There is only want. If you truly desire to cut, even the dullest twig will bisect Gods.
If you want your opponent to be dead, then he was always dead, and always will be dead. This is the indisputable truth of the matter.
The Keys of Kings don’t just unlock doors.
They unlock the potential to FEEL the universe(s), and how one can empose their will upon it.
Even without the Key of Flame, Maya knows how it felt to tell physics, reality, and causality to sit down and shut up.
After that? Even without magnification, a simple concept ‘CUT’ can be shouted loud enough that there is a chance that everything will accept the effect without cause.
Maybe.
I want a dead tree graphic novel of this comic with all the rollover text in pullout quotes. It is literature and philosophy and art all in one. Pure poetry, one might say.
“Here is my sword,” said Intra. “Your semiotics cannot contain it. Its blade is made of gloaming steel, look how it whispers!”
“But Lord Intra,” said the assembled, “You have no sword!”
“So it is,” said Intra.

I hate to criticize your amazing work but I gott say I feel like this page doesn’t transition very well from the previous one. The previous page, where Maya lashed out in anger and the close up of her astonished expression, was much more interesting left alone. It really doesn’t need to be expanded upon and leaving the aftermath of the cut we’ve already seen demonstrated left unseen made it all the more impactful imo. It really showed that preems death was insignificant in comparison to the discovery of the maybe sword. Now this page just feels like a retcon flashback like “oh wait he was actually facing me and laughing” and is just unnecessary.
Assuming he survived, that one lesser smith down on the bottom right corner is gonna have a hell of a tale to tell.
‘So, no shit, there we were doing our day’s orders when the woman the boss was stringing along Cut.’
‘Cut what?’
‘EVERYTHING’
…hey, you’ll, is there a new page that I can’t see for some reason? I don’t know why I suspect this, but I do. does the comic update based on your time zone.
The blade your hand is just a medium through which to focus your energy, no different from the wand of a sorcerer. The real sword comes from within.
Once you understand that, you can use literally *anything* as a medium. A pencil, a pair of chopsticks, a club, a rolled-up magazine, or even just your bare hands and feet. But it’s easiest with a tool already designed for cutting, as its association to the concept of “cutting” is already clear and firm in the subconscious.
…And because you don’t have to spend extra effort convincing yourself that a severed poultry leg can indeed cut just as well as a knife.

Abbadon has not posted a new panel in a while. Perhaps they are finally taking that much needed rest, after all one would need recovery after such an incident.
Unreliable narrator alert! Preem Mana’s terrible hyena laugh was *not* actually the last sound he ever made. The last sounds Preem Mana ever made were:
– ka-thump
– SPLAT
– plop
From his knees and body hitting the floor, his sliced skull hitting a wall, and his sliced brain falling out. 🙂
I’m willing to bet it’s inspired, at least in part, in Elder Scrolls lore, like many things in K6BD. Especially in C0DA. There’s a whole thing with the concept of “Maybe” all over it.
As she said previously, Incubus is a terrible Swordsman. When the Apocalypse began and his sword was used for a seal, he found himself useless and searching desperately for another.
To CUT is intent, all swords are false, and the edge that cleaves God must come from within.
If this is indeed the prophesied Sword of Want, you’ll have to want it to cut. Maybe then, you’ll succeed.

“Undoubtedly one of the flimsiest swords ever made”
We remind you that YISUN is the weakest thing there is and the smallest crawling thing, and the worm upon the earth and in the earth.
A creature of dichotomies. Which is why the Maybe Sword is the weakest sword…. But also the strongest.
Maybe.
Is it an uncertain coin flip if both heads and tails are covered with razor blades? Because that is what is going on here to some degree.
RIP to that one guy who was too tall.
And that lady in the corner there. And anyone splashed by the liquid metal.
The Maybe Sword tends to cause collateral damage.

The power of the Maybe. As in, that which May Be, should you possess the will to manifest it.
ok, it is good diea, it can help me
Everyone is in a superposition of alive and dead until they face this blade. Because of this true random chance, things are no longer deterministic.
Something could change, even a little bit. And, with enough times around, Jagganoth will be defeated.

The more important question, Allison, is can it cut the Potentially Pizza?
Even an especially sharp rock would do
Furnace and Shrine, Slave and Monk, Fire and Air: So does the Wheel turn, sharpening royalty.
It is the Will, that Cuts
To Cut or not to Cut, it is by Will alone that i set my mind in motion
The hardship of the Will that Cuts, is that you must first sever your self.
Reach heaven through violence
But will it kill a weekend like a stack of good books? (not saying IT is good) But it did drag me in such that it was read in one sitting of 8hrs.

I think she took two swings at him. One with the sword, and then without it.

I hope so, he needs it badly.
He did warn that he was taking a rest. Read his comment after the page, before our comments. He is on familiar vacations until june 9th.
I… I did it. I read the Holy Text in all its Unfinished Glory. I am caught up. Now my watch begins.
I weep for thee o Burner of Bridges.

This is pure art , thank you for this.

That is to say, any sword is a Maybe sword, if the wielder does not need a sword at all.
