Even when warned by the mercurial demons themselves, it is a hard lesson to learn that devils cannot be befriended. Violence and betrayal are the only coin they value, and they spend that currency freely.
I’m doubting the backpack is in there. If it is, it shrunk. It was wider than Alison’s torso and I don’t see how it could be hidden from this angle if it was blocking the knife.

Hrmm… Now, y’all probably know this, but the proper way to slip a knife between some ribs is to keep the blade parallel to those ribs. That way it kinda slips naturally right between them, piercing the important bits much more effectively. A perpendicular blade is gonna have to have a lot of force behind it to either cut the ribs or spread them enough to slip past – not an easy task… except maybe for a really pissed off Devil chick >.>
